Hey guys, I've been only a sporadic viewer of Fred, managing a catchup at the end of the day but not much else. Hows the Chompy Nil Classic winners coming? Its live but races this weekend? Also I'm on Secret Gesture @25s, thoughts on this and cheers to whoever put it up. I'm aware Moth is in that race etc, but I don't have a total picture really, mostly through lack of knowledge.

Fred seems to be back to the more playful jibing(?) at Adz aftertiming with a sparkle of exquisite language thrown in.

Warning Ice Cream question, sorry to interrupt Classics chat..  Does anyone have a view on Candleford in 8.10 Wetherby this evening - looks a big price to me. Best priced 14/1 beats Betfair. Decent e/w bet Huh?

Doncaster needs some major additions to be able to compete in the Championship and are about to lose one of their better player in Tommy Spurr who is out of contract, probably along with a few more. They are 11/8 to get relegated and it hurts to consider backing them for relegation after we backed them for promotion. But with the fact they are about to lose key players, manager with a lack of record in this league and a very likely small budget, I would generally do my nuts in if this gets near to 2/1 come the off.

Thoughts @ rggabfc?

They said.....

Any bets placed prior to the Monday of the tournament will be deemed “Ante Post” and if the player subsequently does not take part all bets on that player will be deemed losers.

Absolutely the first time I've heard of a golf bet being ante post - bookies really are the most pathetic angle-shooting tossers

Would be hard to resist a price that big but its such a big move that it might only happen if the squad strengthens. There are rumours of improvements, as always at a football club, so I'd be wary but definitely some potential there. I don't see a lot of hope for the current squad.

Hi Adam,

Good to have you back.

Yup, Fred & Co are in fine form at the moment, plenty of material to get bust balls with, what with Adz & his serial aftertiming, but if he took the hunp & left we'd be tupped.

Secret Gesture @ 25/1? Hopeful rather than confident, the going is decisive, as is stamina &, umm, dosage. It was myself that first tipped it, obv.

Rightyo, got a couple of long-terms racing punts to add to the portfolio.

Richard Hughes is going to win the jockeys' championship barring injury and it's worth trying to get a sneaky double on him and Richard Hannon to win the British trainers' championship. The two bets are sort of related. Sort of.
Spoilsports and Ladbrokes are best (both 4/9 and 5/4 respectively). Suggest £100 double.

Secret Gesture, 25-1 Oaks, Padraig or Hills
This market is still pretty open and, after watching the 1000 (no comma) again, I'm inclined to agree with Joseph O'B that Moth will be best on more conventional courses. I'm not sure Epsom will suit, while Just The Judge isn't a certain runner.
Secret Gesture is supposedly ahead of Talent in the Beckett pecking order and she's due to run in the Lingfield Trial at the weekend. She'll probably start favourite there.

The Oaks.

We are on Secret Gesture @ 25/1 for a tidy sum.

I'll reply to the other bet seperately.

£31.50 EW @ 25/1, Wm Hill, Secret Gesture to win the 1,000 Guneas in a canter with a comma.

ON

06 May 13 / 14:02  Single (EW) 1   31st May 2013 - Investec Oaks  –  Outright Secret Gesture @ 25/1 – £62.50 O/0457483/0000411/F

tikay could you check please.?

Is the e/w 1/4 1,2,3?

thanks

I was about to auto-reply "it will be one-fifth", but a quick look suggests it is ONE QUARTER odds. Very surprised, but happy, with that.

I'm a bit busy, so in future, please address such questions to my little man who does me, Jeeves.

Paddy Power are refunding losing bets if your horse finishes 2nd to the SP favourite tomorrow at Epsom.  Looking at the prices on the horses in each race then you would have to say that the Oaks is the best place to use this bet.  We also have a big position on Secret Gesture in the race, so backing the 2nd two is a decent hedge.

The refund is limited to £100 a customer, but I guess we are going to be restricted.  Thread should try and get £50 on Moth 7/2 and Liber Nauticus (4/1) with Paddy Power.  Race is 4 pm at Epsom tomorrow.  You also get best price guaranteed, so bet seems a no brainier to me.

EDIT.  Should add that I am limited to £40 on each, as some scrote has allegedly spent £900 on fine art prints on my card the last couple of days, hence my card is cancelled so I can't deposit.  Nothing out of the ordinary in those transactions it seems, though I make a couple of gambling transactions in close proximity and they are right on it.

Idiot question of the day...

Does that count as an offer as, if so, shouldn't Fred be taking as many of these as possible?

Just checked and they are 100/30 and 7/2 on Moth and Liber Nauticus.  Doesn't sound so great, but will do some maths when nippers definitely asleep
