Whilst Tal's description of a bedder's role is theoretically correct, I can confirm that in practise they serve more as the front line 'eyes and ears' of the college's pastoral management.
Mine would also sing a 'wonderful' rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Repeatedly. Every morning. Between fag breaks.
Which was annoying because it was disturbing your work. Linguists are known for their early mornings.
Also, be careful of your choice of expression (ironically): some think we were Oik-smashing, Eton-bred toffs. "Fag breaks" will be taken the wrong way. As it were.
Damn, up too late! Was all over Fag Breaks.....

Thanks Tighty, & I hope it all goes well today for you at Wem-ber-Play.
This is quite amazing.....
The Secret Gesture position is a big swinger for the thread
If it wins, thread wins £799.37
If it places, thread wins £215.37
If it loses, thread loses £13
It all seems to good to be true, & so it probably is, even more so that our worst result is a £13 loss. How much fun can we have for £13?
No idea how many regulars are on Secret Gesture (now generallly 9/4), but those that are on mostly got on at 25/1, so what a thing if it wins. Whether it wins or not, big congrats for the tip, well done Adzy.
Tikay, please don't even jest. If the horse hears my name has been linked with hers on this thread, it's bound to career. Into some stray EDL protester just round Tattenham corner...

Sentaril in the first TV race? 1.40.
Doing this cold, purely on price. Does anyone have a better idea?
I really have no idea, my eyes were bleeding last night after Doobs did the maths on these things. I just nod approvingly, it is all over my head, but you can't argue with (long-term) numbers.
Logic is
favourite short is good.
2nd favourite short is good.
Hills have to be very close to best price.
The above is why the Oaks was good and this race looks borderline.
Visiting relatives all day, can't do the maths or watch the Oaks!
Tighty needs to look at my posts from yday to see if he wants the Chopin bet as proposed.
misread the offer. Just need to pick short price horses where Hills are close to Betfair. I think favourites are better than 2nd faves.
Got to go.
Edit. Thistle bird In first, gregorian and secret gesture prob all good.
Don't forget these 3. Can replace first with Tal's selection, should still be +EV. £25 each with Hills.

The bedder is a college room cleaner (at least in Cambridge. Edgascoigne can verify, assuming they have them in the more modern colleges...). They pop in every weekday morning, clean the room, vacuum, empty the bin, make your bed, clean the sink and then head off next door to repeat. Students can leave their bin outside their room if they do not wish to be disturbed (too busy working, say)
I remember (vaguely) my halls cleaner asking me if I ever moved, after she found me in pretty much the same position every day in Freshers week.

We had "Sentaril" in the 1.35 Epsom, with that Wm Hill offer. The favourite won, but Plan B failed, and we did not get 2nd.

Just a reminder, Tikay: you DON'T have a free bet from that first race.

Did my lucky 15 no good either.
Might have to keep working at this rate.

Afternoon Mr T.
I can't have Westwood as favourite to win his 3 ball this evening. I suggest backing the consistent and underrated Billy Horschel to beat Westwood and Laird.
Suggest Horschel £20 @ 15/8 with Corals.
The rugby league game tonight looks like being close, but I have a slight preference for Hull to beat Leeds, but a bigger liking for under 50 points.
