will also be without a raft of first-team players who are yet to return to the club after their service at the 2013 Confederations Cup. That means there will be no Xavi, no Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué, or even Neymar, or Dani Alves – so Lionel Messi and possibly Alexis Sánchez aside, Barça will be without their entire first-choice starting XI, particularly as club captain Carles Puyol continues to miss out through injury.

Noted. I'm not saying they're going to win; just questioning the price, which, as you point out, is as near as makes no difference 13/2

ok I now see that Telescope is not declared for the St Leger at this stage. The bet qwill be taken as a loss in tomrrow's figures

More musings
There are five Yorkshire sides in the Championship
Leeds
Huddersfield
Barnsley
Doncaster
Sheff Wed
can anyone see a realistic alternative to Leeds as the "Top Yorkshire club" this season?
I can, at the prices....

Probably would take Barnsley at 12/1. They seem happy with their additions this summer and going off the back of a strong end to last season which may spill over.

I was thinking Barnsley at the price too. It relies on McDermott not taking Leeds to that next step (which they should do, decent manager and plenty of good young players), but I think the next four are much of a muchness and Barnsley are the outside of this 4. Big fan of Chris O'Grady too, and Flitcroft looks a very promosing motivational manager.

Yes - seems a spot of value to me on Barnsley. At any rate, Leeds must be opposed at their price in a competitive division.

If forced i would agree with Barnsley being a bit big at 12-1
I am not convinced by Flitcroft yet (he may be the next best thing but this is tougher) and on paper the squad is still one of the weaker in the division in my opinion

Is there a possibility that Telescope may be supplemented to the St. Leger at a later date, or am I clutching at straws?

I am biased but agree the 12/1 seems like value. As tighty mentioned its based on Leeds having a bad season. I don't see much threat from Donny, im not convinced by Dickov. Then id say we have as much chance as hudds and wednesday. Wednesday haven't really improved their squad yet. At 12/1 im defo having a bet.

Darts
We are already on White to have more 180s than Hamilton I think we should also back him to have most 180s on the night at 12/1 with Coral which looks a couple of ticks too big to me, £10 is fine.

Thank you Bazza.
We are on, £10 @ 12/1 (Corals) White to have most 180's.
Confirmation to follow later.

Really think we should get some more funds on Watford this season. All the players are in place now, with 2 more to come before the kick off. The squad is phenomenal.
The price is falling with each signing but not enough if my opinion as there is now no risk that the signings get blocked. How they are priced behind Forest and Leicester is beyond me.
We currently have £50 at 5/1 to be promoted I think.
Think there is still 4/1 about in a few places which is still value. Also a little dabble on 25/1 on Acuna being top scorer. Fabbrini now playing in midfield so Acuna/Deeney will be first choice up front. Looked an absolute beast against Stevage. Reminded me of Tevez.
Full list of permanent signings
Javier Acuña
Uche Ikpeazu
Lewis McGugan
Daniel Pudil
Manuel Almunia
Marco Cassetti
Cristian Battocchio
Almen Abdi
Davide Faraoni
Gabrielle Angella
Diego Fabbrini
Ikechi Anya
Reece Brown
Iriney Santos da Silva
Joel Ekstrand

Chompy is going to watch Peterboro v Watford tonight. It's only a friendly, but maybe he can give us a 2nd opinion of Acuna and how the new boys are bedding in.

Thank you Mr Dung.
I will need some of the other football experts to give a view on that. We already have a nice bet on them ( at better odds), but my real concern is that you are a "homer".....! We see our own team through different eyes. Sometimes.
If the boys say go for it (Chompy excepted) we will.
I have a default " be careful" when a football bet is prefaced by "we".
