Fred should bet Texas A&M under 9.5 wins for the upcoming college football season with 365 or Paddy Power.  Suggest a stake of around a ton.  I'll explain later.  Do it now.

Thanks Stu,

Details in the morning, but......

Bet365 restricted us to £1.23, (6/5) so I left it.

Paddy Power Restricted me to £23.14, so I took £22 @ 10/11.

Am trying to sort the Alabama thing, bear with me please.

Can get £50 @ 21/20 with bet365 if you like tikay?

He's not on, but he'll take it please..as long as you have what you want.

League Cup starts tomorrow, many local games and usually throws up lots and lots of goals! Would this not be a time to do devel 3x and 4x even though Fred generally just does singles? Betfred usually is the market leader with regards to price on BTTS

This was a good angle a few years ago but the market has adjusted now imo.  If you look at the total gooals quotes they are all a good 0.25 of a goal higher than they would be for league games.  I don't have any exact stats but I would be surprised if blind betting on BTTS or overs is profitable nowadays.

Thanks Aaron.

See the reply by redarmi.

If - IF a specific quote can be shown to rep value, am happy to get on, but am deffo not doing anything "blind".

I'm also traditionally opposed to Accumulators. Find me 4 value bets, & I'll happily do them as singles, but I'm not interested in Accas, even though that may be a daft position to take. The vast majority of bookies profit on Football (well, ALL Sports actually)  comes from doubles, trebles, & accumulators. This is a fact, not an opinion.  It is hard to find a value winner. In a four fold, the bookie gets four attempts to beat us.

Generally, I'm, not mad keen on getting TOO involved in individual matches at this stage of the Season. We make most of our money from Football, but we must tread carefully. At this stage of the Season, I would only be interested in games where one firm has a price that is way out of line, or "Offers".

Daily Report

Profit on Month £50.50

Outstanding Bets £2315.10

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

A loss of £35 yesterday with two losing bets. Castleford took the lead against Warrington but capitulated in the last twenty minutes. Our favourite at Henlow lost. Its quite odd for me to see a bet up from Henlow. Its a sleepy Bedfordshire village about ten minutes away from me and where my grandfather was stationed, as a Squadron Leader, in the War - RAF Henlow that is

Anyway, I digress

Around our various bets the Tampa Bay Rays beat the San Francisco Giants, 4-3 last night, and have now won 25 of their last 31 games. The night before the rookie hitter Will Myers hit a 420ft walk off home run in the third extra inning to win the second game of the series

Tampa Bay have now won 14 of their last 16 series against their various opponents

Boston keep winning too and the two are neck and neck at the top of the AL East

In the central Kansaswon again, thats 10 of 11 but Detroit Tigers power on, now have won eight straight so its difficult for the Royals to close in and give us a shot

In the cricket the Test enters the final day with all three results possible but only one likely as it is currently rodding dowm. So goodbye to the whitewash bet but hello to our series bets.

Swann has 19 wickets, Siddle and Anderson 15 each. Denying Siddle an innings todaty because of weather would be good

Clarke added another 30 runs yesterday in the Australian chase for quick delcaration runs and with two games to go leads his nearest pursuer in the Australian batsman market by 134 runs

Excitement in County Cricket as Middlesex beat Durham in just over two games to go third, only 11 points off the top. Sussex lost, Yorkshire should be thwarted by the weather so that is a huge win

For Middlesex their run-in is certainly the most favourable - their next four games coming against the bottom four, culminating in a showdown with Yorkshire at Headingley. There is reason to believe they are good value for a title push, certainly with the imminent return of Toby Roland-Jones and James Harris from injury. We certainly have a real shot at the lot. Or nothing, as there are 5 teams in contention

In Division Two Northants veteran David Sales smashed 255 not out against Gloucs to set up a winning position with a day to go. Draw looks likely due to weather and hopefully that will be the case at Leicester where leaders Lancs are poised for victory.

If Northants fail to win they will be 29 points clear of Essex in 3rd. Next game? Away at the Colchester festival. So we have a big sweat in Northants too with 4-5 games to go.

Meanwhile we have Simon Katich top Div two run scorer. He scored 62 at Leicester and is now second in that market to the prolific Worcestershire batsman Moeen Ali. Ali 1016 runs Katich 936. We have Katich at 20-1!

That's a bit of cricket overdose but asit was scandalously ignored all weekend, a need to redress the balance. Or if you are from Yorkshire, the Ballance. Cricket nerd joke there, but as no one will read this far, humour me.

Also must mention Barnsley. We had good starts on Watford, Reading, Assomblolonga and Wells at the weekend but Barnsley got turned over 4-0 at home. Our spy at the game reported

"On today's evidence, Wigan are a class above any of the teams that were in this division last season and are capable of romping this league (although I suspect I'll be saying the same about Reading soon enough.  Not so sure about QPR though).  The only problem I see for them in going straight back up is the Europa League campaign getting in the way.

They're surprising physical, which I suspect is the change from Martinez to Coyle, but have tonnes of quality through the team and plenty of depth in the squad.

We contained them for most of the 1st half, but gave Watson too much space and let him hit a great shot from long-range.  Their 2nd (albeit Holt looked offside) killed it, and Jennings getting sent off 5 mins into his debut as sub really killed it and it was a question of how many from then on.  The last goal will probably get highlight reels for the number of passes leading upto it.

To be fair, I expected us to lose today, so I'm far from dejected and the only surprise to me was seeing exactly how good a team they are.  7 years in the Premiership = massive gulf in class in this division.

Blackpool away next, which will be a more realistic test of how competitive we are.  Flitcroft is still looking for another striker and it's definitely the area where we're most lightweight at the moment."

I suppose the Moyes factor, plus the arrival of The Special One down south, complicates matters. With 3 of the top 4 having new managers (only the genius that is Wenger survives), it opens up all sorts of possibilities.

11/4 could look huge come mid-season.

Precisely.

It was bang out of order that our Guest Updater omitted cricket completely. Think it is because he is working class.

We ought to think about another Guest Updater now, for future occasions when you, me, or Mere are unavoidably absent. I can think of several who would regally entertain us......
