I have been looking at the assist market for a while this summer, ever since the Bale stuff started. Of late, the talk has been that Spurs want at least one player in part exchange (understandably as we can't get many Champions League standard players without paying over the odds).
Completely out of interest, what price would you make one of the players mooted as possible makeweights:
- Angel Di Maria?
- Luka Modric?
Now that Spurs have a Linekar/Klinsmann/Greaves-type striker in Soldado (for the first time in a long time), I'd think an effective serviceman would provide a good assist stat come May. Spurs have to score goals, as the side isn't built to defend.
Neither might come, but either would be an automatic first choice in the team.
20/1?
Di Maria i personally would have a little shorter maybe 16/1 Can really fire in the assists when he gets firing (15 in la liga 2 seasons back)
Personally i cant see him moving to Spurs before a world cup year but stranger things have happened
FWIW I suspect we won't pay Di Maria's wages. Morata more likely, interestingly which would force Real to buy a striker...

This is an actual suggestion.
Rooney to stay with united @ EVS with Betfred. Might be better elsewhere.
I can't see how this can happen as easy as people are making out. United letting a good player go to Chelsea, enhance Chelsea chances & hurt their own? Perhaps this would may happen if they get fabregas? But he seems unlikely to leave barca, so how this could happen considering the situation seems a bit off to me.
Perhaps there is legs in the ronaldo rumour? But personally suggest £50 on Rooney to stay at united.

I don't know Aaron
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/wayne-rooney/club-after-summer-window
He's about to hand in a 2nd transfer request and these days the power is generally with the players/agents
Not too keen to take something as short as Evens in such a fluid situation myself
I do accept that they'd rather sell him out of England, if they had to
I was quite keen on getting a price for all of Suarez, Bale and Rooney to move before Aug 30.

England begin Operation Ashes Retention stutteringly, as the skipper walks for a duck. I say "walks", he wasted a review by all accounts. A friend set me his view, which is funnier than anything I could have said instead:
The only way that review was vaguely sensible is if he thought his leg was the ball but that seems unlikely. That's a review broad would have used later.

beat the price by miles which is all anybody can do
it is very encouraging for thread that most selections of late start shorter than when suggested
Worth adding an SP column to the spreadsheet Tikay?
I wanted to respond to that.
Yes, & no......!
I would love it, yes.
But it would add a lot of extra work on the shoulders on the Bet Inputter, & for that reason, we cannot do it at present.
I know that all the "Tipping Sites" always say "won at 4/1, recommended at 11/2" or whatever, but in reality, the price we get is the price that counts.
Anyway, it gives me the opening to say that at present, the Bet Inputting (to the Spready), traditionally Mere's Department, is all being done by Tighty. Mere is having a little, & very much well-deserved & overdue, break from Fred duties at present. Fingers crossed he will be back in due course & quite soon.
The inputting is painfully slow & tirsesome, but it is essential we keep 100% accurate records, & so it is a necessary evil.

Chelsea odds on, Man U evens, Arsenal 8/1. Clear bookies benefit, so best to check Betfair in the circumstances.
You can back him to stay at 2.44 or lay the leave at 1.69.

Trying to work out how a review could get any worse. Was hitting halfway up middle, his bat was nowhere near and it was aright-hander hooping it in to a leftie, so obv can't pitch outside leg. Maybe he spotted him over-stepping and was praying for the no-ball (he was nowhere near that either fwiw)
