Tonight is game 3 in the NBA match up Miami heat v New York Knicks... Miami have crushed NY in the 2 games in Miami and now the series turns to New York.
New York are already without Jeremy 'Linsanity ' Lin, classy rookie shumpert went down with a torn ACL i believe in game one and now one of their other big players Stoudemire decided to gash his hand on a fire door as he slapped it in frustration after the game 2 loss..this just leaves NY with Anthony & Chandler of their big players fit.
Even with a monstrous home crowd led by the eponymous Spike Lee in the front row NY are going to be right against it as the red hot heat blow into town. the heat may or may not have Chris Bosh one of their big 3 as he wife has just given birth but he could still make tip off... the Heat still have league MVP lebronde James and Wade backed up by some good bench players.
The two met in New York as recent as the 15th April with the game very much meaning something..Miami ran out 8 point winners.
All this makes the money line of Miami -5 on bet 365 seem generous as the first two games went 100-67 & 104-94 Heat favour.
Unless i'm missing something ( Mr Jaffacake confirm or deny please ) money line looks good or a nitty 1.61 for -3 even better
Missed Winner, to get in before the Dean chirp.
Lol...it's ok..if the thread doesn't bet then it's a winner which means my bets win..... I thought the game last night was enthralling and NY played their hearts out....the intesisty was palpable ....the defense played was some of the best I've seen for some time, by both teams. Knicks stayed with the heat for 3 quarters but in the end those injuries mentioned previously told as the others had to stay on court to compensate and they literally ran out of steam... I've never seen players look so knackered... Rested because he got in some foul trouble James came off the bench in the 4th qtr and staked ny to the ground with 8 points in 90 seconds..from there on in only one winner... The playoffs so far have gone to a whole new level and I'm loving this game more and more

Mumbai sneaked home by 1 run yesterday and sit 3rd in the league.
They have yet to hit top form and have suffered injuries to tendulkar, malinga and now pollard.
If they have a fully fit squad going into the last couple of weeks and find a bit more form with the bat then they are still well placed for winning the IPL.
Thanks for the update, Matt, thanks.

Stewards enquiry on that game.
Never seen something so hooky in my entire days.
I jested a little about this previously, but do you really think it's iffy?

There have been many many suggestions and now an enquiry into the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League, earlier this year) being bent
IPL, it shouldn't be but that volume of money in a huge betting market with "form", I wouldn't be at all surprised if some individuals and games are bent
Yesterday's match was a tricky pitch to bat on from what I saw, but Ganguly (retired from all other cricket, note) put his side right up against it chasing 120
http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2012/content/story/563624.html
It is quite important to a lot of people that Mumbai (huge advertising market, huge betting market) make it to the last 4. Enough said

The Clarke dismissal was very strange, just for the pure speed of the decision.

Boyle have now settled those 2 bets, & my £250 has ballooned up to £255.

Blackpool v Birmingham
The sides have scored more than 150 goals combined this season
Blackpool attack and attack, but concede easily
Birmingham beat Blackpool 3-0 at home
Went to Blackpool and drew 2-2
Blackpool have drawn 3 of their last 4
Birmingham have drawn 4 of the last 5
Each of those seven draws were score draws
Birmingham are unbeaten in their last four matches against the Seasiders
21/10 odds about Birmingham winning or drawing a match featuring three or more goals looks good
price Ladbrokes at
http://sports.ladbrokes.com/en-gb/football/english/blackpool-v-birmingham-e215962838#
My recommendation would be £30
Birmingham winning or drawing a match featuring three or more goals 21/10

Yeh, fair report on the hoopies, was loads closer than the score indicates, new york gave it everything and were in the driving seat for three quarters of the game but lebron coming back fresh killed it in the first two mins of the final quarter. Still think it wasn't worth an odds on bet, coulda been different. Never seen a team look so dejected and knackered at the end of a game, wouldn't back the Knicks with free money in the next one. When you're 2-0 down in a best-of-seven n u lose game three, your first home game, u may as well pack up there.

That's an interesting one Tighty!
Never seen or done a bet "winning or drawing a match featuring 3 or more goals"!
It deffo looks like it has goals galore all over it.
I'll have a mini-bimble, & probably go to war with it later. Thanks.
PS -
Middlesex: 81-1 (22.0 overs)
Worcestershire: Yet to bat
Delayed
Match delayed by bad light

Worcs won the toss, put Middlesex in
So a good start.
We can sweat the overcast conditions and Middlesex's seamers skittling Worcs all weekend, hopefully

Thats the key, to my mind, Jeff. The value is so important. And at those prices, we need to win 2 out of every three bets. Big ask, that.
Do you never bet on British basketball?

So we can get almost identical prices for EITHER......
Birmingham to win. Any score, just win.
Birmingham to win OR draw, IF the game includes 3 or more goals.
Not sure what the maths on those two (comparision) are.
Instinctively, it feels like getting the draw thown in is a bonus. 3 or more goals, a discount.

Yeh a quick play with around with the correct score market on betfair can get you around 23/10 after commission, and that includes any score with blackpool getting 4. I like the bet at that price although someone may need to do it for Tikay!

I don't mind obviously
If there is a better way of playing goals with a nudge to the Birmingham side then by all means suggest it

It's getting a bit complicated for me, as WellChief perceptively observed.
WellChief - "any score with Blackpool getting 4".
What exactly does that mean, please?
We will have a dabble on the game, probably along Tighty's lines, but I'm going a bit cross-eyed here.
