I would like to add to the Arsenal v Napoli debate.

I was going to suggest that Fred back Napoli.  when I checked Betfair earlier today they could be back at 7/2.  For me this is a no brainer.  I am not a huge fan of Rafa but he knows how to beat Arsenal.  Granted I think in his 20 matches against Wenger he is behind 6 - 8 with 8 drawn.  But for many of those games he was in charge of a Liverpool side that just weren't on par with Arsenal.

Napoli are a fantastic counter attacking side, we don't get to see much of that side of their game as Seire A is not as defensive as it once was.  Arsenal have been decent so far, but in spells they look weak at the back.

To add further to the debate I made Arsenal 8/13 shots!!!!

Good Lord. Reasoning, Stu?

Hope you are right, I am on them (small) @ 11/10.

Currently in Souda Bay Crete, watching one of my companies machines pave part of the runway at the Nato Airbase.

Far more important, the Arsenal game.

Draw. Tend to think we having been running too good, and them being Italians will be happy with a draw.

GL Chompy tip. Cant get a stream, surprisingly, and cant even get betfair to whack the refresh button. Hey Ho, nice and sunny

Ooh, concrete runway? Photos please, and specification.

Never been able to do pix, but promise to learn on return.

7.5m wide 45mm deep. Sidebars. For the taxiways.

45mm deep (thick)? I hope you mean 450mm!

I am aware it is probably not right in real terms but the Italian teams are massively overrated in the Champions League in my opinion and it is by far the worst of the big four leagues.  Last year of three teams that qualified for the Champs League Udinese got beat by Braga in the qualifying stages and Milan came second in their group to Malaga and Juve won the easiest group.  Both then lost in the QF's comfortably albeit to Barca and Bayern.  They are normally stronger at home but again in the opening rounds Juve drew away to Copenhagen.  I just don't believe the Italian sides are that good so it follows that their form in their domestic league is overrated and Napolis form in Italy doesn't stand up to much scrutiny either.  Yes they have won 5/6 but the only genuine top half side they have beat is Milan and they are only mid table and in poor form and they drew against the bottom team Sassulo.  Arsenal on the other hand have won 5/6 but beat Spurs and Marseille on the road in those games which are very good results.  I think 11/10 was a gift.

Thanks Stu. There is still some Evens available in a few spots. I only had £20 @ 11/10, but that'll do.

Easy way to rermember, you can have (concrete) thickness, but you cant have deepness.

Adz, don't come on here mentioning runways. If you made a Venn Diagram of things that will derail the thread without needing my input, concrete and aeroplanes would be the two big circles and you just ploughed straight into the bit where they overlap.

Now, can we get this Gooner Thread back on track, please? Wink

Yours sincerely, Thursday night, channel 5.

But they beat Dortmund at home, was that not impressive, to be honest the bookies underestimate Napoli a little, though they are catching on fast. The 8-1 that was available to win Serie a was completely wrong and they have some exceptionally good players and look like they are going to be a force in Serie A and Europe for quite some time. Definitely a team on the way up, with a very ambitious Owner. They where even all over Arsenal in a "friendly" squandering a 2-0 well deserved lead.

Was going to post earlier when the price was about 2.0 on betdaq, thinking to myself, that the English money will come for Arsenal, and I would lay them at 1.9, it is now 1.88, so I recommend a lay of Arsenal for 20 quid at 1.88 for fred.

Morning Mr T.

In a couple of hours time Ferrer plays Pospisil in China. They have never met before and Ferrer is a big favourite to win based on his higher ranking. I like to oppose players over the age of 30 when they play up and coming players who are yet to reach their peak and this seems like a decent opportunity. I would give Ferrer the benefit if this was a clay court but it is a hard surface. On the 3 occasions that Ferrer has played this tournament he has reached the final once, but on the other 2 he lost in the first round.

Suggest £20 Pospisil @ 4-1 with sportingbet.

Apologies hector - only just seen this. Too late now.

Yeah it was a good result against Dortmund no doubt but its only one result and the stats don't suggest they were particularly dominant.  I did look at that friendly result but, meh, it's a friendly and is pre Ozil.  I way be way off on my price but I wouldn't be laying Arsenal tonight.
