NINE sixes now.

This one might yet get home with an innings to spare.

George Bailey has now scored the most runs EVER by a batsman in a bilateral ODI series

In 5 completed innings

474 runs off 400 balls at a strike rate of 118, average 118

One hundred and three fifties in those five innings

He has hit 42 fours and 15 sixes

Today he settled for 156

With one game to go, he cannot be caught....He is 286 runs ahead

GJ Bailey (Aus) 474
GJ Maxwell (Aus) 188
SR Watson (Aus) 188
AJ Finch (Aus)    185
PJ Hughes (Aus) 176
AC Voges (Aus) 142
JP Faulkner (Aus) 114

We need India to hit one six to win that bet too

Awesome tipping there Tighty, just brilliant, & we never needed any luck, either.

November will start with a profit of around £400 thanks to this bet.

Some educated views on this would be welcome.

Doncaster are 14/5 with BetVictor at home to Brighton on Saturday (as short as 7/4 elsewhere, and generally 9/4 to 5/2).
Doncaster aren't very good, but out of 6 home games have played 4 of the top 6 already, not really been battered, and capable of a performance.
Brighton are undoubtedly the better team, but aren't all that, and are struggling for goals.

Price seems too long, but don't know enough about either team to be too strong on it.
Would think it's worth throwing £20 at, if there's enough positivity. Views anyone?

Dynaste is the 5/1 favourite for the Paddy Power Gold Cup at next month's Open Meeting at Cheltenham following this morning's entries.

Dynaste won four of his five races last season but was second in the one at the Cheltenham Festival, the Jewson Novices' Chase.

The sponsors will give you 5/1, as will Sky Bet and bet365.

Jonjo O'Neill reports Johns Spirit is good form and Power have subsequently trimmed their odds from 14/1 to 10/1. Sky Bet and Stan James still offer 12/1

A total of 49 entries have been made for the November 16 race.

Thanks Neil, yes, lets get the footie types to comment.

The BetVictor price @ 14/5 is a good bit out of line with the rest, yes, see Oddschecker....

At present, with very little liquidity, Betfair go 11/4, which is fractionally worse.

The sixth India v Australia ODI is tomorrow morning

All eyes on Bailey

There have been six ODIs at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur since it opened in 2009

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2013-14/engine/records/team/match_results.html?class=2;id=2399;type=ground

The average first innings score is 292

It is renowned as a true batsman's pitch, fast, allows strokeplay. Weather is rarely a factor in Nagpur

In the Four games in the series so far the first innings scores are

304 Aus
359 Aus
303 India
295 Aus

The two batting line ups outclass the bowling

Dhawan, Kohli, Sharma, Raina, Yuvraj, Dhoni

Finch, Hughes, Watson, Bailey, Voges, Maxwell

this is especially because Australia lack spinners and Ashwin for India has been out of form and in general the conditions are not seam friendly

We can expect tomorrow to be another high scoring game

The cricinfo preview states

"Rest assured, there will be no rain pouring down in Nagpur. Only fours and sixes. The new Jamtha stadium is known for its flat pitches in ODIs. Of the six ODIs played here, first-innings totals in five have been more than 290. Netherlands scored 292 here against England, India failed to defend 296 once. Add to it the new regulations of two balls from each end, and only four fielders outside the circle, and another run fest is in store. "

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2013-14/content/story/683531.html

I make the spread price around 290. Would not be surprised to see 300+ twice

Anyway Paddy Power offer 8/11 over 9.5 sixes

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/india-v-australia/odi-series/india-v-australia-%5B6th-odi%5D/total-6s

Which is kind of them

Game 1 :11

2: 23

3: 13

4: 9, one innings before rained off

Average: 14

I think over 9.5 sixes is a 1/2 shot

Were I setting a neutral line, 10/11 each of two, it would be 12-13.

13 sixes

700 runs

The markets continue to under-estimate how the ODI game these days is rigged in favour of the batsmen, with harsher fielding restrictions and two new balls, one at each end, keeping it hittable for longer

This was the third highest chase in ODI history, and the second was earlier this series

This is evidence, in games unaffected by weather, that being long runs, long boundaries etc is the way to go at least until quotes routinely price sixes at about 13 a game, runs at over 600 a game etc

There were four hundreds in this game!

Glad we got on the Barnsley bet, as much as it pains me to say. Also like the Doncaster bet, Brighton are totally a different unit at the moment.

I'd love to hear feedback on Norwich at 18's away to Citeh at the weekend. 18's with Stan James and Betfair, whilst 12 for DNB. Hard to see past Citeh winning, but price seems huge and perhaps a personal interest in this for small stakes is what I am thinking, but at the same times feels like I am possibly burning money.

Given who the film is about, is Idris worth a tickle  @ 14/1 with the jokers?
