oh dear oh dear

I know. Hilarious.

Suarez to undergo a "minor procedure" on his knee. "Should be ready for the first game"

The first report i read on twitter said he was likely to be out (had me running for the 100/30 Cavani) but on further inspection looks like he could be rushed back.

The talking head TV stuff has been satirized so deliciously by Charlie Broiler in his shows. Two characters, Barry Shitpeas and Philomena Cunk, speak the voice of the nation:

Not only did England win the u-17 champs, they did it on penalties!

That's right, an English team winning on penalties. Wonders never cease...

I don't profess to be an expert on football by any means, but have listened to more than enough previews to notice that pundits are very pro Woys squad selection.

No one has dared say it yet, but it sounds like we may have a bit of a squeak based on all the optimism. Each time someone talks us down, another counters with a positive reply about how our new gen are more attacking etc.

What do we think about our current odds?

Any 100/1 floating about?

365 pulled their top uruguay scorer market

the 3/1 coral cavani wont last to long methinks. If you consider they have Costa Rica first and it seems unlikely if Suarez does make it back he will be back 100% for that 3/1 looks a bet

Suggest £30 Cavani top scorer 3/1 coral

If Suarez does recover then we have an ok bet, if he doesnt we have a very good one

Thanks John.

Given the Suarez situation, that looks worth a small wager, so we've had £25 @ 3/1 with Choral. 3/1 is clear best price, too.

Missed that John, I'd already bet £25.

Just to bump this

Any views on the market Mr Parr has up on Top Manu Goalscorer in the World Cup?

Evs RvP
9/5 Rooney
9/1 Hernandez
11/1 Kagawa
16/1 Welbeck
20/1 Mata
...
33/1 No Goalscorer

RVP will, we assume start every game he's fit for and his new double boss will be keeping his confidence high. The Australia game might be enough to win it.

The 33/1 No goalscorer is, however, interesting.

Thoughts on Gerrard top England scorer at 12/1?

Obv he takes pens which is good, but maybe won't be as advanced as in previous England teams (depends who Roy picks) but the pessimist in me is telling me we are gonna score < 4 goals in the group stages and be out so 12s maybe looks big for someone who takes pens?

The first ODI between England & Sri Lanka starts today @ The Oval, @ 1pm.

We are already on Sri Lanka to win the series @ 6/4, (now 5/4).

Today's match is a flip, pretty much 10/11 pick 'em.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/england-v-sri-lanka/odi-series/england-v-sri-lanka-%5b1st-odi%5d/winner

This is the same pitch as the T20 thing on Tuesday, which Sri Lanka won quite easily, but in London, we have had a tremendous rainstorm overnight, so I've no idea if that will change things.

The weather forecast is for sunshine & showers.

1pm start.

Book looks pretty good to me Tal cant see anything that catches the eye particularly
