never in doubt!

shev rolling back the years

ukraine verge from the sublime to the shite in five minute spells

looks a tough group all of a sudden!

Seb Larsen doesn't half put a good ball in.

Agree when England meet Ukraine .... you would not like them to need to beat them to qualify ... Tough Ask with there support and Secret Weapon Shevchenko .... Would sure be a tough match

^^ whats the thread bet on this Mere? Tempted to say things always start cagily, but only two clean sheets so far I think

We had reasoned arguments for betting both sides so tikay bottled it.

Just thought that I'd stir the pot. Smiley

Correct, I got off my fence, then got back on it.

True though, we had good arguments for either way.

Hector thinks UNDER 75, Jode thinks 80+ (goals in Euro12), do we have any more views on that? Think a "stats" expert is needed.

How many games are there? Part of me thinks goals might flow freely, don't know why.

No rush, we have a few days yet, but I like the "type" of bet, lasts all, or most of the Tourney. Shame if we can't find the right angle.

These were the two "recommendations" for goals.

teeks this is the preview of the NBA Finals, starting tomoro night, I wrote for BettingOn.com....

http://bettingon.com/articles/2012/06/11/nba-finals-betting-preview

it ends thus....The two teams split the two regular season meetings, but with home court advantage, a stronger all-round squad, youth and a new-found maturity in their point guard, expect OKC to come out on top in a close series.

VERDICT: OKC to win 4-3 (11/4 with Bet365).

You already have a lay of Miami, so not a reccy as such....

I think someone actually said they would always take the "in-betweens", too. That was when my head exploded.

Thanks Teeks, me too...had to reccy an OKC win, stick with the party line lol.

Asked my friend at BettingOn how they were doing, he sent me these about a week ago....

Obviously, tipping Webber at 20/1 for Monaco was just lucky http://www.bettingon.com/articles/2012/05/21/monaco-grand-prix-betting

50/1 Oaks winner - assume you were on?
'...the best value amongst his outsiders may prove to be Was (50/1 with Bet365, BetVictor and Stan James), who cost 1,200,000 guineas as a yearling. She was easy to back when winning her only two year old race last August and, following a setback, was probably in need of the run when third on her re-appearance at Naas earlier this month. She should improve dramatically with that effort under her belt and there is plenty of encouragement in her breeding to suggest the trip will also see her step up on her two efforts to date.'

Women's French Open
For a long shot, it could be worth siding with Sara Errani. The Italian saves her very best tennis for clay and is currently 18-3 on the surface this season having won three tournaments in a row in Acapulco, Barcelona and Budapest. While she didn’t have to beat the very best players in those events, she beat what was put before her and any doubts about her ability to get the job done against Top 10 players can be countered with the tempting 150/1 dangled by BetVictor and Ladbrokes (just 40/1 with Coral).

Nice site, worth looking into for the serious gamblers (not u and me teeks, we're just passers-by)

Daily Summary as @ 0700, Tuesday June 12th.

We lost a little money yesterday, around £80 I think. We finally laid the England - WI Test Series bet to rest. It was only £50 @ 2/1, but a wonderful sweat & it prompted much lively discussion.

In Euro12 singles, on the England game, we just messed around with 3 Banzai's at a total cost of £35. If we have no serious financial interest in a major Event, I think it's fine to have a little fun with these sort of bets. However, if, say, we had a Max @ 8/11 or somesuch, then the Banzai's have to be swerved.

Our Euro12 serial bets sort of trod water yesterday. Benzema looked sharp, but failed to convert, ditto France. Andy Carroll was not sighted, & just as well, he would not have fitted in with the way England set up the Team on this occasion, & there must be doubt if we will see much of him now, as Welbeck impressed. The Team shape may well change when Rooney returns, of course, but my money will be on Rooney to outscore anyone else in our camp. Still, you never know, let's see what Friday brings.

That was it, a very quiet day after a hectic wekend.

The Stanley Cup occurred overnight, & we had not an ounce of thread interest.

Winners were Los Angeles Kings - "LA Kings" I guess? - who won 6-1 against the other lot. (step aside Jeff, inbound Sports Journo here).

Which is all just an excuse to show a photo of the trophy. You could have a bath in that bugger.

What's coming up?

Not much today, the Euro12 interest is just in Russia (playing Poland), where we have Kerzhakov as top Russian scorer outright.

The US Upen Golf starts on Thursday.

Morning Mr Tikay.

Did you see Hull KR, who we won with last week at 5-1, won away at Huddersfield last night. I was hoping our rugby league expert was going to come on here and tip them for you, but there was no sight of him.

I have just seen that Paul Casey has pulled out of the US Open allowing a 14 year old Chinese boy to enter!

Amidst all the sporting treats over the weekend we had no mention of one of the greatest sporting achievements of our lifetimes. Rafael Nadal winning his 7th French open- remarkable. I looked at tipping him for this when he was about to play Djokovic in the tournament in Rome but the best price available was 4-5. They recently used an ultra slow-mo camera on the players and found that Nadal generates 30% more spin on the ball than his nearest rival.

I wonder if I am the only person who hopes the mink got washed away in the deluge. Doesn't look like pet shops sell baby stoats either!

The RL result - yes I did see it, (I watched most of it in fact) & I groaned, I had been hoping someone would offer it up. Cracking price, too. But we can't look back & say "I wish.....".

Nadal. No, I was not aware, I don't follow Tennis at all these days, for better or worse. I quite recently started bumping into Andrew Castle a lot, & I met Ginnny Wade, Annabel Croft, & that big Canadian/British (varies to suit) chap too, but I just can't get revved up watching it.

The mink? Hmm, it's very hard to bear, but that's just how nature works I'm afraid. We all love raptors, but field mice & smaller birds must hate the sight of them......
