sporting life puff...

"BetVictor and Paddy Power have markets on the next Newcastle manager and the former have joint favourites in the form of current Magpies player Fabricio Coloccini and Frank de Boer. They are 4/1 shots with Coloccini having been backed in from 50/1 yesterday.

Power have De Boer as a clear 7/4 favourite, although Ajax have said today he won't be leaving them during the current season.

Tony Pulis - the former Palace manager -  is the only other man not available at a double-figure price. He's 8/1 with BetVictor."

We not doubling down on worrrrrr Peter?

first things first, would he be appointed the caretaker?

if so, its the usual...win three or four in a row and make a case for it, I suppose

A tenner at 50-1

the idea was that he would be cheap, popular and would tell Ashley what he wants to hear. Presumably this is a slightly different job serarch than a chairman looking for the best man of the job who might be difficult

something to sweat for a short while, hopefully!

Was about to say Pulis looks big at 8-1 but see he's been cut to 7-2 now.

 aftertiming

66-1 Darren Ferguson. One time please!

I know Fred is on Bunting to win the Worlds (I am as well) but I like the price on Wade to win 4-0 tonight. I'm a big fan of Bunting but one thing that has struck me in recent months is that when he falls behind early on he becomes very snatchy and never quite produces his best (he tries too hard). It happened in the Grand Prix and MVG rolled him over 4-0. He also started slowly against Jenkins in the Euros and King in the GSOD. If Wade is fast out the traps tonight and takes the first set I can see him running over Bunting fairly quickly. I think 8/1 is best Fred can get and that's worth £10.

Don't watch enough darts to know Bunting has the Peter Griffin Bird song as his entry music.

Good sport.
