No try scorer is 16-1 with bet fred.
That looks a must bet to me. Given the conditions I think 10s would be way closer to true value.

Biblical rain in Dublin
Now a very slight smattering of snow beginning to settle here now.
Biblical snow, or just ordinary snow?
Not entirely sure there was any snow in the Bible.
I'd imagine the literary benchmark for snow would be Dickensian snow, but it's not that.
Barely enough to turn the grass white, and it's stopped now in any case.

YANINA WICKMAYER v Timea Bacsinszky, the latter has just won her first title I believe last night. More often than not this type of player finds it hard physically and mentally to go again the following week, very difficult to find the same level after a big win.
Wickamayer 7/2 seems more than generous.

The line for Over/Unders on points is 35.5. Bet everdayoftheyear 10/11 for unders. Might be worth a small investment..

ty for the welcomes. Thread is decent, don't mind the argument as it's pretty informative and well argued on both sides. I only bet/lay and have no knowledge of the bookie side of thing or associated so have actually found it quite interesting. Was thinking it was the same as we always see on forums/across the board (especially towards casinos) where people attack any non-direct attempt to take money but have been quite swayed by the argument that a tipping site makes money from losing bets (I am not questioning that tips are genuine only that it is a clear conflict of interest).
Seen basically the same argument time and again, notably when Mr C was involved in karatepoker.

I will hang around, always someone out there who will know something I don't, vice versa.
Is their a particular part of this thread where it all went wrong? I thought it was a thread to share tips, not sure why this kind of thread goes wrong, share tips, either place them or don't.
Good luck with the rugby Tightend, I have punted the draw.
It's that simple, I've no idea why people ended up frothing at the mouth over a fun punting thread, but they did.
Probably not worth rehashing why it went wrong. If you asked 20 people you would probably get 20 different answers, 40 different people to blame and 60 different resulting arguments.
We just need people to stop. As Camel said, it wasn't like this when it started and no reason it should be in the future.
Wouldn't mind, but we have just started winning again.

All agreed.
It totally baffles me.
We accept variance like grown ups, we don't chunter when our bets lose, we do have the odd losing month, but we do OK overall.
All our bets are proofed in advance, & logged on an "open to all to view" Spready, every single bet.
This is the score.....
Overall statistics (since February 2012)
Total closed bets: 4,336
Amount wagered: £130,761.91
Profit/loss: £5,353.52
ROI: 4.09%
Fred is free to view, & people can make their own minds up.
If they follow Fred blind, at Fred stakes, they would be £5,353 ahead of the bookies, so, in effect, have a free, & profitable, hobby & a bunch of fun along the way. Only a very small minority of poker players can say they have won £5,353 net over a 3 year period.
I just don't understand why people can't just shrug their shoulders, show a bit of tolerance, & in return, they get to accept the ongoing profits.
We don't just get bets given to us, we get taught HOW to bet, too.

The thread implosion is one of the most inexplicable things I've ever seen on the internet, & denies us all fun, profit, & learning.
Don't like Fred, what it does, or how it does it? Fine, don't read it.
Anyway, we'll see, I'll work through the options once I get back home after UKPC. Wonderful week for it all to kick off, lol.

Guess I'd better tread carefully in mentioning there will be a Cheltenham Betting Preview on Ch 861 this Thursday.
Even if Fred disappears, blonde will have dedicated Cheltenham threads, so it's ok. Fred was a great way of "keeping score", & gave many of us a moment of glory, when a bet comes in.

Good stuff, they're always enjoyable!
You've got no shot at getting out, before we've backed 10 in the Supreme, and half a dozen in the Gold Cup

Yikes, great memories.
I nearly crapped myself in that Supreme Novices when we backed 5 or 6 of the runners.
"You can't lose"
they said.
And as it turned out, they were right.
Amazing, I punted for 30 or 40 years, & never had a bloody clue, just backed my "fancies", with no thought to value.
I'll always be grateful to all the Pros who steered us, gave us sermons, & explained how it all worked.
I had not punted for 10 years pre-Fred, & I'll probably stop punting if we decide to shut Fred. Not enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do, so I can get some other boxes ticked. I'm not addicted to punting, which was the worry I had when I started again. I am addicted to poker, no doubt about it, but I mostly play small-ball, & consistently turn a small profit, so that gives me my gambling "fix".
Will deffo not miss Cheltenham, though I have to work on the Tuesday, so will miss the last race that day, but I'll watch all the rest, & probably have a few bets.

Now then Mr Kendall. Don't make it more dramatic than it is.
One person has stirred things up.
It's made more awkward by the attacker being someone that yourself, and a lot of TFT regulars like, and get on with.
Up to you how you deal with that, and not an easy spot.
Still leaves a lot of people who want to read and contribute in a civil, and friendly, manner.
If you, and Rich, don't want to carry on with TFT, then fine with me - but would be disappointed if you let one persons actions dictate that.

I always appreciate your soothing words of wisdom, Neil, but some of that is a bit narrow. I have no interest in apportioning blame or pointing fingers, there's plenty others who can do that, but it's not just one person, it's a combo of things & people.
This weekend I'm getting texts, PM's, e-Mails, people asking/telling me this that & the other, all sorts. I'm only at UKPC, a twice a year, & I don't need or want all that nonsense during UKPC, or any other time for that matter.
My spot is impossible, stuck between long-term friends. It's not nice for Tighty, either.
For the record, both Tighty & I love Fred, & would like to continue. But not while things are as they are, we'd both rather quit.
We'll work through the issues & lance a few boils tomorrow & Tuesday, on here, openly, & then decide.
A bit of this stuff, boiling hot, makes yer eyes water, but it works wonders.

I've always been given Methylprednisolone, but that involves being plotted up on a ward for the week... That looks much more appealing, even if it does make your eyes water
