Just got a report from my Barnet correspondent.

Gillingham had two players stretchered off and had used up all their subs early when they got another injury.

Against 10 men for nearly half an hour with the score 1-1, Barnet created a grand total of zero chances.

In the words of my man they were "beyond awful"

Covers are off (but they were off earlier and it started raining again).
Interestingly, despite the lack of play, the odds on a South African victory have shortened slightly.

Blowers and Aggers talking about buses passing outside the ground and birds on the covers, no doubt.
Oh look, a cream cake has just arrived in the commentary box.
What could be nicer?

As at Midnight Tuesday.

A good day, the two Arsenal bets won hard held, 5 of the last 6 wagers have won, & the unsettled Barnet investment came to life.

The current overall loss equates almost directly to the cost of the unsettled bets (cost included in nominal losses), so we are freerolling on those, & their equity value must be considerably greater than the £230 cost.

Position as of 9am Tuesday. No changes or bets settled, just the two Arsenal CL wagers added, both unsettled.

March Account.

Investments;

Dubai, PL Darts, Anderson 180's, £50 (unsettled)

Chompy, Cloudy Lane, Chelters, £25 (unsettled)

Bobby, Leishman, Golf (£20, lost)

Camel, Barnet relegation, (£50, unsettled)

Camel, Al Ferof, Chelters, (£50 unsettled)

Dubai, Darts Bet # 1, £50 (WON, returned £91.67)

Dubai, Darts Bet # 2, £66 (LOST)

Dubai, Darts Bet # 3, £110 (LOST)

Dubai, Darts bet # 4, £48,  (WON, returned £88)

Snowball, Cricket, £50 (lost)

Mere, RL Scorer, £50 (WON, returned £110)

Whisper, 'Boro, £25, (WON returned £48.50)

maldini, WBA, £25 (WON, returned £82.67)

Ralph, Rory Lay, £120 (lost)

Dubai, CL Goals, £75 (WON, returned £135)

Dubai, CL Result, £60 (WON, returned £129)

Mere, Cricket, SA v NZ, £50 (unsettled)

Total invested = £924.00

RL, Scorer, (Mere), £110

Total Returns = £683.17

__________________________

5 Unsettled bets , Anderson, Cloudy Lane, Barnet, Al Ferof, SA-NZ = £230

Here goes...

Blackpool to be winning at half-time and full-time away at the mighty Posh on Saturday.

Posh were dreadful last night, losing 3-0 to an ordinary Millwall, and have now only won one of last 12. Blackpool are chasing a play-off spot.

At the back we have a right-back playing at centre-back coz Ryan Bennett's buggered off to the Canaries. He's a trier but not tall enough for that position.

At right-back we have a right-back who hasn't looked anything like the same player since returning from a long injury.

At left-back we have a loanee who may be alright long term but who's raw.

The biggest problem, though, is we have nobody to protect them now Tunnicliffe and Wootton have been shipped back to Man U.

Might I suggest a hundo at the best-available 100-30. Ta.

"I do think there is something to wager on here but my gut feeling is that 11/4 for 11 or more Irish winners is better value than the 6/1 for 13 or more. What do you think about betting that at 11/4 for say £50?

I'd be very interested in Mr Horseplayers view on this."

that seems a fair price as well is it better value? again hard to quantify

I am still quite intrigued by this.

Betfair go 6/4 10 or more runners, & elsewhere, I can get 11/4 for 11 or more.

Is there a way of correlating those two prices? What would be the true price of 11 or more, IF 6/4 were the true price of 10 or more?

its not that simple, you can't extrapolate the price out as each race is not the same. If all races were exacts copies you could. Figuring out if its true value would require a lot of work. 11/4 11+ looks better value without doing any work whatsover.

I asked my horse correspondent and he didn't like the bet at all, he reckoned under over 8 was about the pick em line. (So you would want bigger than 6/1)
