Don't know if they still run but Betfair used to have training days where you learn all about the site.

Brian Sadler went to a couple and swore by them. Worth a check.

You can now lay the draw again at 3.0 on Betfair, back there for the first time in two days as England go odds on

Lay it, not back it

I still don't think this will be a draw. England should have 5 sessions to bowl SL out on a wearing pitch. I think they will do it

ON

£25, Betfair.

Lay Backer's odds Backer's stake Your liability
Sri Lanka v England (2nd Test)(In-Play)
The DrawMatch Odds
    2.96 £25.00 £49.00
Bet Ref: 19189842944M Bet matched: 2012-04-05T08:59:55.000Z

Wow, Brian Sadler, there's a blast from the past.

Long time since I've seen him. Lovely fella.

Give him my best regards next time you see him please.

Nits rule. One step at a time.

I really don't mind upping the roll to £2k, & upping the max bet to £100, but for other newbies who follow the thread, as well as me, we ought to try & do this proper like.

Camel started all this - what is his view?

No offence taken Keith though not often we have such polarized views however I stick to what Ive said  based on what I've seen at recent live matches involving both teams

I backed Brighton to beat Millwall a couple of weeks ago.

Millwall totally bossed the game and were very unlucky to only get a point at the Amex.

I think Millwall are a bit inconsistent. They definitely have bad weeks.. some of the performances have been pathetic. But they are definitely capable of top half displays/results.

Shouldn't really have more than 5% of your roll on any bet.

If you want to increase the roll, then everyone is happy!

you can lay £25 at the current price for just under £50 liability

This, you stand to lose £50 if no draw and win £25 if there is.

Not worth it. Effectively like putting £50 on a twos on shot. Lay £50 @ 3 to lose a hundo imo.

The 'roll is not big enough yet Chomps, can't do that.

If we break-even or better in April, I'll increase the Roll to £2,000, then we can step up a gear. I don't even mind increasing the roll to £2k now, but would prefer feedback on whether we are ready for that yet. As it happens, wehen I open accounts, I always deposit £250, so we have enough funds in play already.

One thing you will have noticed I am sure Tony is that you are getting more and more bets put your way in the last few weeks.

When you were taking 100 bets with a roll of 600 or 700 it makes every bet more important as the 'tips' tended to nut up a little because every bet is more important than it should be, coz your roll wasn't strong enough.

Now you are having 50 quid bets instead you are getting loads more bets put your way, if you bet 3-4 losers on the trot then it's not going to decimate you as it would when you only had 6-7 hundred and were taking 100 a time. So your roll is now taking more and more bets, at less instant risk and you are getting bets that might not have been put forward before that might have been borderline, because your roll can take it.

We used to call it 'salami staking', you take a piece off in thin bits and spread it around and see what % of it comes back.

Caddy of winner for last three Masters to end on Easter Sunday all had no. 53 bib. This year's 53? Billy Foster for Lee Westwood

Now that's research.

OK, effective NOW, we will increase the roll to £2,000, & thus the Max Bet to £100. I will not be retrospectively upping any bets though, it is from here on in only.

I'm assuming that it presents no achallenges to MereAuditor.

Lol, that's uncanny. It beats the one I saw which I found amazing, Nick Faldo only had three top 10 finishes at The Masters in his career but they were all wins.

Thanks Phil, that sort of makes sense.

another and last masters suggestion for you tikay, personally i cant get on this one as centrebet are quite hard to lay a bet (i presume you would have to open an account with them)

HIDEKI MATSUYAMA 20-1 IN THE TOP 25 MARKET

reasoning-

finished 27th on debut last year with very little experience.

since then has won twice on the ultra tough japanese tour.

the main reasoning being he is a general 10-1 shot (some 12-1) with all the other books for a TOP 20 finish which looks about the right price.

I dont profess to no a lot about him, just saw the price differential and the extra five places which i am sure makes this a value play if nothing else.

i have just got a "friend" to open an account with them which took 30 minutes and then they have laid him a maximum of £10 sterling

i think the price is very good but not sure if its worth your time/hassle of setting up with them
