Tikay been looking at puting something up for a while and actually bottled putting a 20/1 winner up Sunday as it was on my own team which went against the grain (sorry)

Unfortunately the first bet i have come up with is reality TV so will need verified by he of cherished numberplate fame, the resident expert on all things Reality TV.

Was looking at the odds on Britains Got Talent (Flames awaited), and was taken by the 10/1 (Hills/Betfred) on Paige Turley (14 year old Scottish singer).  Third favourite in the market.

Of the other 3 in the top 4 in the market you have:

Fav: Jonathan & Charlotte - if Jonathan sang himself he is justified favourite, sing Nessun Dorma in the final and he has it.  Problem is Charlotte sounds like someone is strangling a cat.  Its like Pavarotti beside a cat getting strangled, unless he drops her, which he wont, I do not see them as favourites.
2nd Fav - Ashley & Pudsey - Its a dog act, a dog act will never win, just wont get the votes, singers and dancers will always win as they have wide appeal.
4th Fav - Twist & Pulse Dance Company - Twist & Pulse finished 2nd and were a lot fresher and different then there proteges who look a good street dance group at best.

The final and most important thing is the Scottish factor.  Scottish people vote for their own in numbers.  They also now have a lot of inclusive phone minutes which they use in spades.  In reality talent shows we have Michelle McManus (Pop Idol), David Sneddon (Fame Academy), Jai McDowell (BGT), Leon Jackson (X Factor) all having won, most of which were unfancied and certainly not the most talented.  On top of this you get the awwwww look she is so young vote, which usually guarantees a podium finish.

I think its worth a £20 shot at the 10/1 to get for a Saturday Night Reality sweat, would appreciate Chompys input though

Sigh, I don't like it but...

£100 @ 7/10 Soton to win away at Poshies, Sportingbet

Gabby Zak is apparently done for the season, so we are buggered in defence. Lambert will have a field day.

Gonna stop off at Hills on the way there and have a chuckaway fifty on 5.5+ goals but not putting that up here.

I SO want to put a bet up which Chomps has recomernded against his own Team.

Best price now, however, is 8/13. Looks a tad stingy, or is that still in Lord Chomps view, fair value?

NOT on yet.

TightEnd's analysis of the cricket reminded me of a tale about a ground in Sri Lanka where they only had one roller.
If the captain asked for the light roller, one guy pulled the roller onto the pitch and if he asked for the heavy roller, two guys used to pull it onto the pitch.
Lol. Tightys tip just has to come in as does sandy's snooker one.

The only thing I can really contribute is if Barry Neville gives you one of his nailed on dog tips...... Lay it

Scottish bloke - nice one, but yes, lets see what the Reality TX Expert says.

I heard that he will be on Telly Addicts soon, you know the Show where an entire family never leave the sofa, glued to the TV 24/7.

Not over keen on the best price I could get - 4/6 - but the chance to diss you tomorrow was too much to resist, so a mild interest has been taken. I'm still of the view that Posh must be great value @ over 4/1, to be honest! Where Dazza when we need him?

First post on the thread im sure people will do the stats better than me on this but what do people think of chelsea @11/4 dnb against Barca in the Champions League.

Barcelona dont have the best away record this season and seem to play the away leg just to keep the tie live to get it back to the Nou Camp

That's tomorrow, so we can await feedback, I'd also be interested in tonight's Bayern v Real affair, here.....

Never seen Britain's Gotno Talent unf Chrstophe, so can't advise one way or tother here.

Wait for May imo and the abuntant riches that the Eurovision and Big Bro bring our way.

Posh @ 4/1 tonight is the worst bet in history tbh. Results have been generally poor since Gorgeous Boydy and Taylor refused to sign extended contracts and Gabby Gabby Zakuani will be a huge miss at the back.

4/6 is still a fair price about the Saints. Lambert has always scored hatfuls against us, going back to his Brizzle Rovers days, and that's uinlikely to change tonight.

I am in a bit of a rush Tony but I have backed Stuart Bingham at evens to beat Stephen Hendry in their first round match at the World snooker championship.

I will write it up better later on but in my eyes Bingham is fav, he won his first ranking event this season and has then played ok to be beaten by some good players in the last few ranking events. Trump x2, Holt, Williams, Fu and Carter

What doesnt seem to be factored into the price, in fact it might not be that widely known is Hendry flew to China on Monday for some very lucrative exhibition games, the one thing he asaid he didn't want was a weekend first round match at Sheffield as he doesnt get back to the UK until Friday afternoon. His match with Bingham starts on Saturday afternoon.

So two flights to China and matches every night out there cannot be the best way to get ready fior a world championship match against a player ranked higher than him.

I suggest between 75 and 100 at evens Stuart Bingham

Heard that too. Don't disagree but 10/11 boylesports race to 3 might be a better bet ?

Sandy

yes, I did think of betting that too.

IPL news.
In today's first match, Deccan Chargers scored 196/2 and, despite having Dale Steyn in their bowling attack, were beaten by the Rajasthan Royals.

After 20 matches the table is as follows:

Teams                                Mat  Won  Lost   Pts
Rajasthan Royals                    6   4   2   8
Delhi Daredevils                    4   3   1   6
Pune Warriors                            4   3   1   6
Mumbai Indians                    5   3   2   6
Kolkata Knight Riders            5   2   3   4
Chennai Super Kings            5   2   3   4
Kings XI Punjab                    4   2   2   4
Royal Challengers Bangalore    4   1   3   2
Deccan Chargers                    3   0   3   0

The top four teams qualify for the knock-out stages so anything could still happen.

Phil or others

Judd Trump at 6-1 favourite? Obviously amazing talent, and after last year's experience? He will win it one day.

A good thing or too short?

ta

Hi Rich,

The one thing at the Worlds is to overlook the first to 5 form that is the norm in so many events thru the season, first to five is the snooker equiv of a complete poker crap shoot.

I think Trump 11/2 is the top price now,  a pretty boring answer mate but it looks fair to ok. His draw could have been a little kinder. He should beat Dale but then probably has to go thru Ali Carter then either Steven Lee or Shaun Murphy to make the semi final.

The top half of the draw does look the easier side in general tho, but the Higgins quarter seems easier than the Trump quarter. Tho Wenbo is a pretty dangerous first round match for Higgins too.

The bottom half has Williams, Ronnie, Ebdon and Robertson in the same quarter with the other quarter having Ding, Allen, Selby and even Stevens and Fu with their Crucible records tough matches.

If I were to have a bet now I would be swerving the bottom half of the draw. Simply on their Crucible records Higgins at 10.5 and Dott 44 ish in that top quarter look the pick. If you take out the 2 years when Dott was having head problems his record here is very good, he has either won, finished runner up or been beaten by the eventual winner or runner up a lot and the longer format deffo suits him. The worry is he got abs hammered by Trump in the qtr final last season.

I couldn't fancy Bingham or Hendry to win it, Maguire just doesn't seem in love with the game, Perry is steady but has a level and Brecel could go well but would be one of the sports stories of all time if he won it as a 17 year old.

Thanks Sandy, in a weird way, I sort of prefer that @ 6/5 to the outright win @ 4/6. We could lose & still win.

If Lambert fails to hit the net, we put it down to Chompy, if he scores, its credited to you.

As an aside, what if Lambert scores an OG, does the bet pay out?

Tighty - your cricket bet. I've just realised it makes no mention of THE most crucial element.

Weather Forecast included next time, please, except in Banzais. Wink

Presumably, if the weather turns sour later this week, we are stuffed?

Each team plays 16 matches in the league which gives us a total of 72 games played between 4th April and 20th May.

The elimination stage works in a way that favours the top two teams from the league.
The top two teams play each other and the winner goes straight through to the final.
The loser of that match plays the winner of the 3rd/4th play-off to decide which other team goes into the final.
