Daily Summary, 8am Wednesday 18th

When I first played live poker, 10 or 11 years ago, I entered a tenner freezeout in Derby one Wednesday, my first ever Tourney. A month later I entered my first £100 affair, @ Gala Notts, & could not believe I had just spent £100 on a game of poker. One hundred pounds!

I feel the same about yesterday – I bet invested NINE HUNDRED QUID!

Jeez!

However, we still have most, if not all, of our £2,000 roll, we are in profit before that £900, some of which has returned already, & if one or three of those come home, we are still in profit, & if they don’t, well about a third of the ‘roll is down the swanee, so it’s not quite as bad as it looks. Self-delusion ftw.

Just one of those rare days, I guess, where a lot of stuff came up. The day before I never invested a penny piece. We will need to go a bit steady until the weekend though, when a lot of the big bets settle, unless Chelsea perform a miracle tonight.

Tighty gave us a lovely cricket bet, & I laid 4 different bets for £25 each @ 3. I’ve accounted for each of them as £50, as that is my liability, I think.

Several World Snooker “value” bets are booked, we even have a BGT bet, ffs.

Doobs stunned with his Chelsea bet “Ignore Messi”. Hmm. Had to do it though for his sheer audacity. Tonight, we shall see.

Deano came in with a NBA bet which won, a rarity on this thread.

Chompy gave us Southampton, but I sort of bottled it, & only invested half his suggestion, then made it worse by sort of worse by doing a goalscorer bet which wiped out the profit, & some. My bad, lesson learned.

Then, after all that, Bobby discovered what appeared to be some great value in a German football bet at around 10pm last night. We got on @ 16/5, & it is already at least half a point shorter everywhere.

Some day. Now we need for a few of them to get home.

We did, however, make a small profit yesterday. There's that delusion again.

Lol, looking at it in the cold light of day, yes, I think you are right. Doobs was very convincing, though. And I am a sucker for a good story.

One of us will look pretty daft tonight.

Better get you when you are feeling decisive.

Chelsea to beat Barcelona at 5.3 on betfair.  Barcelona are always a bit overrated in my view.  Not sure they are even the best team in Spain currently.  Chelsea appear to be improving and are bound to be up for this having been "robbed" in the same competition by the same opposition a couple of years ago.  Chelsea have home advantage.

I simply think 5.3 is too big.  Don't listen to the Messi is god blah blah.

I BLAME DOOBS

The clincher was "Don't listen to the Messi is god blah blah".

Bet for Saturday:

Fulham are currently trading at 1.98-2.04 on Betfair at home to Wigan.

Try backing them for £100 at 2.0.

It's a monstrous price.

Wigan are absolutely prime candidates for a let down. They are simply not as good as their recent results suggest. They are almost safe and after 3 super human efforts are entitled to struggle to get up for this match. Fulham are super strong at home and have certainly not stopped trying for the season.

I think this is an exceptionally good bet.

Thanks Keith.

I think we had the opposite recommend from someone - Dazzy? - earlier, but you only rarely post bets on here (& you got back me in this damn betting thing!).

I can take a hint, too - "I think this is an exceptionally good bet" is as strong as it gets from you, especially on the back of the stunning Swansea jobbie.

I could "only" get 1.98, but thats the best price currenly on offer, & it could well shorten if I provaricate.

So, £100 @ 1.98 on Betfair it is.

ON

Fulham v Wigan - Match Odds

Placed (matched)Back Odds Stake Profit
Fulham v Wigan
FulhamMatch Odds
    1.98 £100.00 £98.00
Fulham v Wigan - Match Odds
Placed (matched)Back Odds Stake Profit
Fulham v Wigan
FulhamMatch Odds
    1.98 £100.00 £98.00

Oooooooh, I don't like this bet. My thoughts are that Fulham will drift too.
I'd like if Adnmdv or Redarmi would price up this match for us.

It's already gone into 89/100 on Betfair so well done on that. I don't care. The market is wrong. Camel is wrong. You're all wrong. Wigan would beat Barca tomorrow imo. I'm riding the Wigan train.    So I'm laying Fulham to Camel for more than I should.
Baaaaaaaaanzai!!!! Grin

I love Dazzy SO much.

QPR +0.5 Asian handicap @ 1.96 with either laddies or 188bet.

Translated this means QPR or the draw and they are at home to Tottenham.

QPR have won their last 3 home matches and are relying solely on their home form to stay up with the atmosphere for their home games very supportive. The wins were against Swansea, Arsenal and Liverpool so not too bad.

With Tottenham they have lost their last two including an embarrassing home defeat to Norwich and a smashing against Chelsea 5-1 at Wembley. They also haven't won away from home in their last 8 premier league matches.

I think its worth a reasonable wager and is going forth as an official 'tips for tikay' tip, whereas my Wigan backing was a bit of a punt!

Noted, Mr Ant. Were you the Gentleman who punted Arsenal big on Monday, or am I confusing you with a mere ordinary mortal?

Anyone else got any view on this?

I don't mind a dabble, but we are heavily invested already, so some encouragement would not go astray.

No, I feel guilty to even mention it.  I wasn't really doubting him though, it's just raining like the world is ending here and I'm not a million miles away from Middlesex CC or Surrey CC!

It matters if it tips down for 4 days

The forecast is

and I recommended the bet (a structural change which will apply all season, I reckon) on that basis

Same here (Osterley/Isleworth), it is peeing with rain, & freezing cold.

But I'm a degen now, so self-delusion is a critical ingredient.

A heatwave might start tomorrow.

Mr Tikay. I do not have Sky TV so have not seen your most excellent show. Do you ever do pieces about bankroll management?
