Joke stoppage.  He was bang in the fight and wasn't badly hurt.

yeh a terrible stoppage, and the edge with crolla would have been in the later rounds when the other guy was going to get tired. Really didn't expect the other guy to be that good though with the odds as they were.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Daily Summary, 8am Sunday 21st April

Not as bad as feared. Too many losses, but luckily, most of those were small wagers. Our only returns came from Football.

The Good

Football.

"Max bet" Fulham got home, ditto QPR, both for about £100 profit, & we got our money back on Villa-Sunderland.

The Bad

Snooker

Hendry gave us a right pasting, including a 147. Jet-Lag ftw, & a max bet busted.

Football

A max on Werder Bremen v Bayern failed, though apparently a shade unlucky. A small bet on Norwich never got going. Barnet's two relegation rivals disappointed, one lost, the other drew, & that 1 point from the draw, effectively, made no difference, as we have GD running for us. Time running out there, but a single result the right way will still get us home. Gonna be close.

Horse racing

Camel triipped a max which romped home like a good thing should, very good price, & the whole thread were on it - except me, as I arrived at DTD 5 minutes too late. Good for the thread though. Later, Camel put up another horse, & the law of inevitably came into play, as I got on this time. It lost.

Boxing.

In what sounded a bit of an odd affair, the result went completely the wrong way.

F1.

Fail. Rosberg looked a better bet as the various stages of practice developed, but failed in the one that mattered. I'm really glad the F1 boys have arrived itt, brings more width & balance, lots of good analysis, & we can have a good bit of fun with it all season.

The Ugly.

Reality TV Shite

The one bet I badly wanted to get well & truly stuffed, being some singing bloke in a TV show, progressed to the next stage. If anyone thinks I'm gonna register a vote for it, forget it. Never.

We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hope-less place. GTFO.

Today's interest?

Nothing that I can see, other than a fun bet on smirky Schumi to get a podium finish in the Bahrain F1. One F1 expert suggested that he will "go backwards" during the race, which will be neat trick, as he starts near the back of the grid anyway. Hmm.

There is some football on, but nothing has been put up, & it all looks a bit trappy today, so no need to bet for the sake of betting unless someone spots a bit of value.

So we might have a quiet day today - except for those 4 Cricket bets......

Exactly as Tighty predicted, incredible volatility in these.

Yesterday I described all 4 as being in intensive care - but the patients have made remarkable recoveries. The "LAY" prices for the 4 matches are now 1.25, 1.25, 4.3, & 4.3, so we'd now be unlucky to get whitewashed, & we have a chance of limiting the damage to a small loss, or even a profit. Amazing stuff. There could be a lot of thread fun in these for a few months.

good day for the Newcastle top 4 bet
Tips for tikay is on that, right?

Very spooky this.

Shortly after you posted that, I was chatting away on a nice table @ DTD, & sat two to my right was the very man who tipped it on this thread, that "Newcastle to finish Top 4" bet - "geordieneal". The price when he tipped it? 11/1. Well done him, & anyone else who got on. I was a non-believer, marv.

Just read that snooker stuff Bobby, amazing stuff, kinda remember Hendry in a cast or something now u say it. Poor ole Jimmy Sad

What a shame this thread wasn't running when the Reading at 150/1 to win the Championship was being bandied about, landed with Southampton's defeat tonight.

Teeks if u lay Miami for the NBA championship you'll get a great sweat through the playoffs, including when you're in Vegas and can watch games at decent times!

Current lay at 3.5ish....expect them to win tonight so can leave this til Sunday if u fancy it

Will have a proper look later today, Jeff, thanks. Not time precious, I assume?

now 8/5 best priced Sad    (didn't back it myself as never bet on my beloved Newcastle)

little bet I do like today is the Stephen Maguire v Luca Brecel.......Brecel is 4/1 for a 2 horse race, the guy is an awesome "prospect" and is highly likely to win a world championship or 9 in his life time.......maybe a bit young right now, but he has got nowt to lose against the very good and experienced Maguire........wouldn't risk much ...max £20 or so, but worth a punt

How ar we doing with this venture? Bout time the stakes were upped. Go hard or go home!

(In reply also to "Alverton" & "Over the Border").

No way! Sorry Greg, once a nit, always a nit, this is not a spin-up thread, & I want to keep it going as long as I can.

The 'roll is just notional really, it just exists a) to give us a stop loss (losing the lot) & b) as a guide to maximum bet size, being 5% of the 'roll.

It began as £1,000 (max bet £50), and after two months of small profits, we increased it to £2,000, giving us a max bet size of £100.

IF we make a profit this month, for the third month on the bounce, I'll increase the notional 'roll to £3,000, meaning we can increase the maximum bet to £150.

I think the thread is huge fun, loads of people follow it, & I hope we can sustain the fun, so I won't be going the spin up route, sorry!

Wowzer, well done you! Watched you get 2 nice 2xups, you were sitting nice & quiet but had everyone sussed, delighted for you. I'm still smiling at my comical exit, gotta love poker, anything can happen.

I missed your 11/1 coup, but I'm gonna have a little fun bet on this one. He's barely shaving yet, but 4/1 is just silly.
