Mumbai have really struggled this year in IPL- their batting has been disatrous and they definitely are 4pts already above ev.

Rich ive not seen weather but how comes u fancy 2-0 not 3? Can only assume weather as surely if no rain all tests are wrapped up by the end of day 4

the only bet available at the time was the correct score after the first two tests (Bet365)

Presumably in the run up to the 1st test correct score odds will be up for the series as a whole

Ah ok i thought u meant for series.

Cant imagine Windies scoring 400+ all series

Mere- What u make of James Franklin opening for Mumbai? Obviously Essex have signed him but I still cant have him as an opener in IPL (i know Gibbs is back today)

not sure what peoples thoughts are on 0-0 crewe v southend (9/1 on bet365, not looked elsewhere yet)

southend kept 5 clean sheets on the bounce
crewe manager saying the below makes me think they might play pretty tight?

Does anyone know how our Mumbai Indians wager is coming along?

In the unlikely event that any of you are so common & uneducated as to enjoy watching bish bash bosh "cricket", Mumbai Indians are on ITV4, "live", right now, as is another, parallel, IPL match. I'll not bother, I have some paint to watch dry.

If, by parallel, you mean concurrent, I don't think the IPL stages concurrent matches.
There are two matches today but they will be staged consecutively.

One is indebted to MerePedant for such clarity. bish bash bosh x 2 will do.

Not sure I understand which bet you mean Rich, you said, I think, 2-0 was 11/10.

I believe the "Series" odds ARE available, if I read this correctly.

Still prefer 2-0?

Presumably, I'm looking at the wrong thing here? 2-0 is available as big as 2/1.

Please clarify, & use short words if possible.

He's an odd player for Mumbai to have on their rota at all, I think.
After starting his career as, predominantly, a bowler his batting became more significant and his bowling is rarely used.
I don't see him as an opener myself either. I'm not sure why Richard Levi hasn't had more outings although he lacks a little subtlety. I may have missed out on some injury news. Picking Gibbs smacks of desperation but I expect he'll score a ton now I've said that.

If you bet England 2-0, you need signficant rain in 1 test, if you bet England 3-0, you need no significant rain in 3 tests, if you bet England 1-0 you need signficant rain in 2 tests. England can win 3-0 and afford to lose the odd half day to the rain but not lose 1.5days+ in a test

Huddersfield DNB @ 29/20 with VC might be worth a bet. Better team from what I've seen this season, MK Dons rated for beating poorer teams with good football but expect Hudds quality to get them through and they've become a backable price today. As seen yesterday draw is a decent player in the first legs so this keeps that onside.

When I was looking at Series Odds, Bet365 was the only market available, for the first two tests

As the link shows, the markets have filled out now

Given this, I like England 3-0 at a generally available 2-1

Yes, reduce bet size for weather by all means. However of course in a Test we have 5 days to get sufficient play, and ceteris paribus, the Tests should not go full length given the combination of England's bowling, WI top order batting and pitches so far this season

La Liga Primera division; Getafe play Real Zaragoza last game of the season on Sunday. Getafe are safe, Zaragoza must win.  Getafe the home side are 6.0 on Betfair as we speak. Zaragoza 1.64. Draw 4.5.

The closest equivalent fixture in our league this Sunday is Stoke at home to Bolton; Stoke 2.4, Bolton 3.1 Draw 3.7.

Why are the away side such clear favourites in Spain?  Has it been decided already by shifty looking business men in a bar with all manner of leather brief cases at their feet?

Good Morning Blogger Bloke.

For better or worse, we are already on Zaragoza, & have been since early this week, £100 @ 4/6. We can but hope that you are correct about those shifty looking businessmen.

Good morning..think it's Zaragoza's form that has them favourites.  Bit of a funny old thing..seems to be a thing in Spain where by the teams fighting for their lives are always the shorter price when they're playing a team further up the table with nothing to play for.  Perhap's it's a cultural thing.  My latin brethren do tend to prefer to not waste energy if it can be preserved, so perhaps there's a history of "safe" teams mooching about the pitch and trying to stay in the shade while the team trying avoid relegation scores enough goals until they can do they same.

OK, well it's your bet, so make a firm prediction, & bet size, & we'll go for it. I'm assuming that the vagaries of the weather are in the price.

EDIT - ignore that, I've just seen yoiu sauid.....

Given this, I like England 3-0 at a generally available 2-1

That's gonna be the bet, then.

We have £50, England 3-0, @ 2/1, with Ladbrokes, down to Tighty.

How times in Test Cricket must have changed, I grew up in the days when the cricketing world feared the West Indies, who boasted such as Frank Worrell, Clive Lloyd, Rohan Kanhai, Clive Lloyd, Sobers, & then, later, Richards, Greenidge, Courtney Walsh, Lara. Proper cricket in those days of course.

It's not every day we see THAT on a Betting Board. Only Mere will know what that means. He even has a Latin signature.
