What’s coming up?
Very quiet again today, our only active is the PGA Golfy thing @ Not-So Wonderful As It Used To Be Wentworth, where we are on none other than 3G, Genk’s finest, we have £20 @ a juicy-looking 50/1.
Tomorrow, the 2nd Test begins, at Trent Bridge, we are 1-0, needing 3-0, but we have no bets on the 2nd Test in isolation.
For today & tomorrow, as far as I can best recall, that’s it.
Goooo Genk-Boy!

Sussex to beat Yorkshire at the Probiz county ground.
VC £60 at 4/6.
Early in the 1 day season but Sussex are top of the league playing at home at scoring at a high run rate.

Hard to see why Chanderpaul is still 5/2 for top 1st innings Windies scores. He was top in 1st and 2nd innings at Lords scored 46% of the teams runs in the previous series v Aus, is #1 batsmen in the world and is selfish to boot.

Tough for any batsman to be much shorter than that IMO.

Well you'd need 28.5 times out of 100 at that price to break even. The skill levels in the team are heavily skewed in his favour. the odd player will chip in now and again and he'll get out cheap now and again. 6/4 is nearer for me. 40 times out of 100.
The way it is just now with batsmen and team you'd make a fortune if you had 100 goes IMO.

Game 6 in the NBA East semi-final between Miami and Indiana tonight. It's in Indiana, they're 3-2 down and need to win to force a decider. I still like our lay of Miami because the threat to them is in the West, where OKC and San Anotonio are already preparing for the West final. Tonight, Miami, already without their only decent big man, Chris Bosh, have two more bigs, Haslam and Pitman, suspended for being naughty in game five, so they really are short of big men.
They're still faves for tonight's game, away from home and without three bigs, bit of a surprise, but they've won the last two games pretty easily, and Indy's Danny Granger is playing on with a gammy ankle, so maybe that's right. I really can't see how Roy Hibbert and the other bigs for the Pacers won't take over this game, the Heat will gave to have two guys who rarely get off the bench on the floor at all times tonight. Whether Lebron and Wade can cover for that from the outside is the million dollar question, but I think 7/5 Pacers at home seems the value for a lil dabble

Been mulling another bet on the Pacers tonight and it looks like the line is starting to move and can only go one way imo so Pacers +3 10/11 (fairly general, Hills probably best). Udonis Haslem (and the less important Pittman) are both suspended for this game in addition to Bosh's injury. Pacers coach has just said that Danny Granger will be fit. At +3 i think we are certain to have the best of it and Pacers have to hang tough in this game. Probably only £44 to win 40 or something +3. I wouldn't bother taking 2.5 as it is tight at that price if you miss it.

It should be too short, but the price reflects who is in the team with him...
Barath has played 13 tests, Has 1 hundred, 4 fifties at ave 24. Discount as a prospect in this market
Powell has played 12 tests. No hundreds, 2 fifties at ave 21. Discount as a prospect in this market
Kirk Edwards is a good prospect, but 4 tests at ave 43 with 2 hundreds/4 fifties and virtually no experience over here
These 3 have to deal with Anderson and the new ball. Edwards is tempting but probably a series early for him to score big runs in England
Bravo at number 4 17 tests at 47. 3 hundred and 7 fifties in 34 innings, but in his last four tests top score is 51.
Samuels at 6 averages 30 in 70 innings with only 16 scores over 50 and a loose technique. Discount, he'll fail more often than he will come off in England
Prices of possibles
Chanderpaul 5/2
Bravo 9/2
Edwards 13/2
9/2 is too skinny for Bravo, Edwards not yet as discussed above
As an alternative to Chanderpaul, for a run at a price, I am tempted by a rag, the keeper Ramdin at 16/1 who has played 43 tests, 1,500 runs in 75 innings. 8 fifties and is a stubborn nuggety sod. Scored 43 in the second innings at Lords. If Chanderpaul were to fail, 16/1 is a far better bet than backing the five above him at 13/2 down.

would agree 5-2 looks about right
whilst i would agree it is unlikely the top three will post a score they are talented players and they have to have a price in a market like this

In the CB40 cricket, Yorkshire made 238/9 which was about par.
Sussex are 71/1 after 7 overs and I think it's fair to say that at least a couple of the Yorkshire bowlers look to be in on the coup.

Just got home.
Will get up to date on those bets later - NBA, 2nd Test, etc.
Just turned the TV on, Sussex are chasing 239, & are about 70/1 in 6 overs. I
think
that's good. Bit of bishing & bashing is all that's needed, save the boshing in case things go wrong.
Just need not to lose any stupid wickets now.
