Just watched Eurovision, how were we not on Sweden with all our spotters out there. It's already been number one in loads of countries, in a public vote how can unknown songs win against one that's been number one all over Europe. Have a word teeks

Oh, we WERE on Sweden. To finish OUTSIDE the Top Ten, that is.

Love reading channing's bluster almost as much as listening to him in person, top man who knows his stuff, hope u got on his F1 reccy, he professes to know nothing about anything but he's smarter than your average bear that one.

Game 7 of Boston v Philly in the NBA playoffs, winner plays the Miami Heat in the Eastern finals. Can't see a way Boston don't win this one, and Paul Pierce scoring more than 20.5 points at 20/21 with betvictor looks good. Month end on the horizon so don't blame u if there's some belt tightening but deciding game, at home, veteran star player/captain, got Pierce all over it

Close, but no ceegar.

Variance is having a little sport with us on the Basketball.

"...Pierce had 15 points and nine rebounds before fouling out with 4:16 left....."

Daily Summary, as @ 9am, Sunday May 26th.

In brief, we had a whole pile of action yesterday, but the end result was a small loss. Coulda been worse, coulda been better......

Our points scorer in the NBA got fouled out when almost home, that cost us £63, The Froch-Bute match lost us a tenner, best English Bowler got stumped by Bresnan (£50), & Huddersfield, who we had to win in 90 minutes, took 45 minutes too long to get the job done, so £60 went south there.

On the other side of the ledger, we had under 2.5 goals in the same game, to win £40, thanks to Rick, the Russian Grannies won us £37.50, what a fun sweat that was!, & Bazza got the right side of Audley Harrison for us to the tune of £80.

What's coming up?

Cricket.

We have Roach "best WI bowler", but he needs to go some, as Rampaul has taken both wickets so far.

The 3-0 Series bet on England is, just as it was in the first Test, finely poised again. England need to knock up a monster score today. Betfair currently go 1.3 England, which seems a tad optimistic, & a juicy 5.1 the draw.

We have £50 Strauss to be first out today, which depends to some degree not just on Strauss, but what mood KP is in.

F1

We have £40 EW on Hamilton @ 3/1, he starts 3rd on the grid. If this one fails, Hamilton, not one of life's more dignified losers, will make excuses, but we'll just blame Channing.

Thnk that's it for today.

Please note I will NOT be available to place bets between 6.15pm & midnight tonight, as I'm working.

For the future.....

We added two interesting bets.

In Euro12, we have some Russian bloke to be top scorer, £50 @ 6/1.

In the French Girlie Tennis, we might just have a really sneaky value bet for Miss Radwanska to LOSE in the 2nd round. A really clever piece of analysis this, by Mere, a lot of ifs & buts involved, but a really great price. We have £50 @ 7/2.

Too early for SPOTY?

Thinking an Olympian Gold medalist at a decent price has to be the way to go.  Ben Ainslie won gold in 2004 and 2008, (silver and gold previously in the laser class) a treble this year in the Finn class would have to merit strong consideration surely.  Ennis obv the main danger, but obviously at a shorter price.

I'm on a 16/1 (available Boyle/PP)

I'm having a decent sized paddle on this, but for the fund a cheeky pony @ 16s (better if anyone can find it obv)

When is SPOTY, Simon? October, November?

Not sure I like this, but you offer up VERY few bets, & when you do (Henderson Top Trainer @ Cheltenham was it?) they are generally golden, so we'll very probably dabble as suggested.

Is there a market for "SPOTY" to be won by an Olympian this year? It'd be short, but golden.

Just looked at Paddy Power's SPOTY market.

You can back John Terry @ 80/1.

Early December usually.

I won't be offended in the slightest if it "doesn't fit the portfolio" - other firms have him 10/1 already and I may be a sucker for a big price, but I just can't get away from a 16/1 punt like this.

You got it.

£25 @ 16/1, Ben Ainslie to be 2012 SPOTY, with PP.

6 month sweat, this, but we should know the score once the Olympics are over.

http://www.paddypower.com/bet/novelty-betting/sports-novelties/bbc-sports-personality

The tricky bit with Mr T in that market is it is imposdible to know how many podium finishes he might get in the TDF, how many medal ceremonies he might join in at the olympics and he could turn up at any amount of other sporting events and take a hand in the finish, maybe sat at the Wimbledon finals with his white shorts on under his trousers and a head band in his pocket, Poised to strike. We might win the Euro's too and he might end up a hero but I am just being daft now. :-)

The very thought....

It's easy to join the mob mentality thing & diss him, but it's really tough to fathom what goes on inside his head.

Think I have to default to "he's got some brass neck".

Yuck, this looks horrid to me.  I used to watch the Americas cup when it was on, but sailing just isn't much of a watch.  He is obviously absolute top class at what he does, but nobody will be watching.  I expect far more to tune into the jessica ennis and mo farad silvers golds.

what price was it, presume it was fave? They mostly sounded the same to me but if that one's number one all over europe guess it's gonna win. Poor old Hump never stood a chance.

Mw Paul Pierce has seven points in the first half ffs. Not as easy as it looks this punting

It was about 2.8 ish in the week but after the semi final and a good enough draw in 17 for the final it was about 2.24 last night. I have been out most of the day but Chompy will probably know what the swings in price were like today.

Was around 2.16 last night when I laid it before they sang.  It was around 1.74 after.  I was thinking at the time this is going well... It didn't get much better but drifted to 2 again before the votes came in.
