Think ive found another Euro 2012 value bet.

All jokes aside about the state of the England team, ive seen enough to convince me that they will overcome sweden and Ukraine to get out the group.

Therefore group D straight forecast with victor chandler

England / France - 9/2
France /. England - 4/1

Surely these are value?

If you are taking the 2 prices I policed then a straight forecast dutch of England/France, France/England works out @ 15/8.

Whereas you can get over 6.7/1 on a Sweden/France reversal.

I much prefer the latter but I wouldn't know enough about the Swedes to recommend it as a bet.

I believe Paddy Power offer 15/8 the Dual Forecast, England and France, which I guess is the same thing?

Yeah thats correct but the 2 prices Killerkilsby quoted would've only given the dual forecast as 8/5 to level returns.

Thanks Brent.

Is the French football team now at peace with itself, and the Authorities? Seem to recall it all got a bit unpleasant during the 2010 World Cup. Are the wounds healed, have they all kissed and made up?

It seems that way.  The received wisdom is that Blanc is too tough to put up with all that crap.

Thanks red.

The bet quite interests me, but I am not quite sure that France deserve to be quite so short in the market generally relative to Sweden. There is plenty of evidence to suggest there is little between the two teams on results.

Sweden might prove rather more difficult in the Group than most seem to assume.

Daily Summary as @ 0700, Monday June 7th

Well we swung & swong all over the shop yesterday, & had more fun that we might have imagined.

Mr Stricker was sadly not part of that, & so our £25 EW @ 30/1 Banzai bombed proper good.

The Wales Open was amazing for our Coetzee thing.

The final day began with all results possible - two losses, two wins, or one apiece. I'd have happily settled for the latter, just to get a few bob back, but then Coetzee went and took an EIGHT, & I almost posted the chirp. From there, we could not fail to win both.

However, from victory we somehow found a way to lose, gawd knows how.

Final round scores were not pretty - Manassero 74, Siem (who had been prominent throughout) an ugly 78, & Coetzee 74.

All of which is a long-winded way of saying we lost the bloody lot.

Our only other action was Fred Favourite hector, henceforth Hector Hero.

He keeps popping up strange bets, and sometimes they go very wrong indeed, but he always advises very sensible stakes, & makes his case well.

Yesterday he gave us Hull KR to win @ 5/1, with a fiver saver on the draw @ 33/1.  The result was 23-22 in our favour, prompting a pleasing text from BWin. Overall profit on that pair of bets was £95.

Excellent!

We shall, today, pay tribute to hector, so he can choose to be either of these for the day.

No-brainer really.

What's coming up?

Today, nada, nothing, zilch, zero, though we may get some action later, with Rugby League (Bradford Bulls v Castleford Tigers), some Bish Bash Bosh (Essex Eagles v Gloucestershire Gladiators), & Speedway (Peterborough Panthers v Lakeside Hammers) all covered live on TV.

Free Fred brownie points to anyone who can explain or justify why these teams have to be burdened with some ridiculously puerile suffixes. Ugh.

Euro12 starts this Friday I believe, & we have so far built up a little book with a cost of £210, with, no doubt, a good bit more to follow, mostly on sub-markets. I'll list them all before it begins, & hopefully, we'll be back betting football most every day for the duration.  Football remains our most profitable sport, & we've missed it.

Tennis.
French Open - Women's Tournament.
Arantxa Rus v Kaia Kanepi

Rus is 21/5 (5.2) with BoyleSports.
She can be laid at 4.9 on Betfair.

Despite the fact that Kanepi struggles to get over the finishing line at times, I don't think I can recommend this one. I just thought that I'd point out that BoyleSports have a different opinion to the rest of the bookies.
