I'm off to The Venetian shortly, & will watch the closing holes in the Sports Hall there, hopefully from my Tourney Table right adjacent the Sports Betting Hall, should be incredible fun.

The name of the game is to get best price/most value and I am sure in the coming days you'll find the best price or we will help you.

But I have had a look at the Euro 2012 betting, but this time on who the finalists are.

So far the fixtures are like this:

Czech Republic v Portugal
Winner of Group C v Runner of Group D

Winner of each match play each other in semi Final

Germany v Greece
Runner up of Group C v Winner of Group D

Winner of each match play each other in semi final

At this point in time we do not know who 4 of the others are going to be, but with a little anlysis and assumption, I think it should be easy enough to work out, so we look at who we think will win the groups.

Group C

Spain 4 point
Croatia 4 point
Italy    2 point
R. of Ireland

Games left:

Spain v Croatia
Italy v ROI

Spain will win the group if they avoid losing to Croatia, do you think Croatia will win? I don't. So we can assume at this point, Spain will be winners of Group C. But who will get second, which I find the toughest spot of all. Croatia and Italy drew their game, so if they get equal points it will go down to GD, so Italy need to beat ROI by 3 clear goals to get qualification. But of course, they can get through if Croatia lose and Italy win.

I am confident (and I am sure you guys will agree) that Spain will win the group.

Winner of group - Spain
Runner up of group - Croatia or Italy. Tough one. I am going to stick my neck out and go for Italy, because I think Croatia will lose to Spain and Italy will beat ROI.

So at this point it leaves the fixtures looking like this:

Czech Republic v Portugal
Spain v (runner up of group D)

Germany v Greece
Italy v (Winner of group D)

So now we have to look at Group D:

England's group

France 4 points
England 4 points
Ukraine 3 points
Sweden 0 points

Fixtures left:

France v Sweden
England v Ukraine

We all know the score, England are through if they don't lose to Ukraine. But from a betting point of view, who's going to finish where in the group?

France will win, France are better than us, we beat Sweden and Sweden are already on their way home, so we can predict here a french win. The next game is our boys, I expect a tough match and perhaps we have a togher game, I don't think we will lose, but I don't think we will comfortably.

So going on those assumptions (do you agree?) the teams will be going will be France and England, for England to top the group, they need to beat France's result, I can't see it happening. The only way this will happen is we win by more goals than the French do. England have the toughest game. So I am confident with who finishes first and second in this group.

Group winners - France
Runner Up - England

So where does this leave the fixture list?

Well here it is:

Czech republic v Portugal
Spain v England

Winner of the above 2 games play each other in Semi Final.

Germany v Greece
Italy v France

Winner of above 2 games play each other in Semi Final.

So we have the Quater Finalists! But who are going to be Semi Finalists?

Czech v Portugal - The Czech's have been drawn in a relative group, which was against all adequate nations and no big name in the group. Russia trounced them, they scraped past Greece and Poland who are both questionably the worst international teams left in Euro 2012. Portugal was drawn in the toughest group and deserved their wins against much tougher opposition and wasn't far away from getting something v Germany. So as you can guess where this is leading, can only see this going one way.

Portugal to win.

Spain v England - I don't think there is much to say on this one. Spain are by far a better team than we are and I can only see this going one way.

Spain to win (sorry!).

I think it was pretty easy picks for those two. So means the first Semi Final will be...

Spain v Portugal

There are two remaining Quater finals.

Germany v Greece - I don't think we need much analysis here, this is only going one way.

Germany to win.

Italy v France - This is the hardest pick of the lot. Italy have played decent, but they are just not very good at holding those leads, which we have been used to seeing. They was no worse than Spain when they played them, but not much better than Croatia. France shaded it against England, but was very lacklustre in both the centre of defence, but have improved against Ukraine. There was questions to be asked of the defence, but the best Italy can offer up front is a very bemused ballotelli and Italy aren't that young of a side, whilst France have a younger squad and many more match winners with Ribery, Benezma and Nasri, etc.

France to win.

So we have Semi Final two!

Germany v France

The two semi finals (sorry for constant updates) are:

Portugal v Spain
Germany v France

I've done a lot of analysis above, so moving on with that, I will do a brief one for the semi final:

Portugal v Spain - Portugal very lacklustre up front and Spain so many match winners.

Spain to win

Germany v France - Germany look so good going foward and France's weak point, which has been highlighted in many media outlets is their back 4. England questionned their back four and Germany are much better, so I think Germany will win this one, but france will have a go that is for sure.

So that leaves the final of:

Germany v Spain

So, that's done.

Odds for finalists - http://www.paddypower.com/football/international-football/euro-2012-betting?ev_oc_grp_ids=273246

Please search for better ones if possible, this was just a quick search. My prediciton is actually odds on favourite, but I do think however, you should follow one other bet.

Thanks for that - it must have taken ages!
It all seems very reasonable to me (but I know very little about football).
I'm sure that it will spark a good debate if nothing else.

PaddyPower currently have the best odds at 16/5.

So a brief(ish) pointer to MN (as I know you are running the shop for tikay) is that if you want to follow my advice on this, is that you need to get these bets on by tomorrow to get the value and odds, etc.

There is of course many sticky points to guessing who will win, but out of all those fixtures above, I would say that there is only 2/3 that are questionable and I list them as who will get out of Group C as runners up, will it be Italy or Croatia? The fact of this is that whoever does, will still face France and I think France should be beating sides like those. There also might be question marks over semi final of Germany v Italy/France/Croatia, but let's face it, I think all of us expect the Germans to beat eithe rof those three. I add that I am confident of other two happening, as analysis shows.

PP are offering odds like this:

Germany v Spain - 16/5
Germany v Portugal - 11/2
Spain v France - 10/1
Spain v Italy - 13/1

What would I personally go for and how much?

I would bet a lot big on the 16/5, perhaps £50 on this, then follow it up with £10 on two others, which I would say are the 10's and 13's shots. Therefore you have back up if one fails and you are still around at least 70% in profit if you win on either.

Also, would like to hear thoughts on this. As I do, I will seach for better odds elsewhere for you. I shall also be backing my above predictions.

Schedule of fixtures:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/european-championship/2012/groups-schedule

PS - I apologise if I said too much, but I think with a bit of knowledge along the way, think there is value in this bet. Also, please don't quote me, will save us all some scrolling! lol.

Camel (sorry didn't want to quote myself lol) - You're probably right, but you have to look through the groups and so on. Also, it didn't take 2 hours, took about 30 minutes. I think it'll be worth it in the end!
