Padraig Power still showing 10-1 and Billy Mountains 9-1 if you can get on by phone. Around 5-1 seems about right on Betunfair.

PP actually 11/2 on the site.
WH 6/1.

Blimey the fav is as low as 4/11......does he get a 10m head start?

no - the Times had a preview, with analysis from Infostrada predicting medal tallies.

This is an extract of their commentary for today.

This isn't actually a very good day for TeamGB ... and the home media will be getting very tetchy. Did we over-rate ourselves? Where did it all go wrong? You can just see the worthy editorials being carved out like tablets of stone

Admittedly they had us on 1 gold and 1 silver rather than 1 silver and 1 bronze - but it's still on course for us to keep 4th place in the final table (albeit at a very early stage obviously)

baseball

Houston to beat pittsburgh     13/10 with sporting bet

Houston pitcher-
Over his past six starts, Harrell has a 2.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 40 innings of work. Despite his tremendous work, he's picked up only one victory thanks to lack of run support

Pittsburgh pitcher-
McDonald has struggled mightily in his past three starts, yielding 15 earned runs in 15 2/3 innings (8.61 ERA) over that span. The hard-throwing righty has struggled with his location over this stretch, walking more batters (12) than he’s fanned (10) while serving up five dingers

The main concern as above is with our team, if the pitcher can get run support from our hitters, but of late the houston hitters have found a bit of form:
stats for last 7 games:
averages for the main hitters on how often they are hitting the ball-
altuve   .379
johnson .429
maxwell .222
gonzalez .120
martinez .333
francisco .294

When thinking a average of .300 is very good, overall they have been in some decent form

Comparing that to pittsburgh hitters over the last 7 games

walker        .154
jones         .240
alvarez       .208
McCuthen  .348
presley     .263
Mckinley  .400

Overall there averages are not great except mckinley whose come into some form, and there big danger man McCutchen, but I'm not too concerned about that as the hitters who bat around him are not in the best of form.

So overall i would say the hitters are quite even, but we have  a massive advantage in the pitching aspect of the game

So ive given you the information, I will let you make your own mind up on how much you would like to stake

On.

Total Possible Payout

Stanley ‏@Golf_Stats
Average length of par-3s > 200 yds, but on both occasions Hamilton has hosted Canadian Open recently, there has been at least 1 hole-in-one.

Bet Victor & Paddy Power 11/10 for a hole in one.

As far as I can see the only medal we "should" have had and didn't was Cavendish.  We might have lost a bit of "medal equity" with no shock medals from Hannah Miley and Archery team.  I wouldn't worry about it too much at this stage.

http://www.pdc.tv/page/NewsdeskDetail/0,,10180~2864668,00.html also has Wade's average as 95.95, so we should all be getting paid by Boyles.
