Sweden v Norway in women's handball about to start.

Is it televised, Vince?

Thanks Vince. I'm just in the middle of burning some £50 notes here, I'll switch over once I'm done.

Who are we cheering?

I think Fred's been sold a pup.
They're only 5th in the world rankings according to this:

i'll happily watch any female team sport between 2 Scandie countries.

Might be a daft question. But in Volleyball  why do they have one player on each side with a different coloured top on? Or did they just forget to order enough?

Well done Norway, we are back on track. Rubbish is great.

Quite enjoyed watching handball, seems identical to basketball the way it's played, but the net is a bit bigger, it seems to me.

The "libero"; always plays in defence.
It's optional, I think, but every team seems to have one.

Wasn't like that in my day.

Best defender, called Libero. They have restrictions like they can't block or set if the ball is above the net, but they are allowed to replace defenders without it being a substitution.

Think I'm getting this right. Loads of other stuff no doubt

Most important thing to remember about volleyball (if you're spread betting) is that the fifth set is first to 15, not 25. Cheesy

We used to play it at school, straight after our Greek Mythology lesson (or "current affairs" as we used to call it).

Does anyone know why the antennae are attached to the net if it is a foul to hit them?

The libero is a relatively new concept.  Was only introduced internationally in 1998.  That is one of the great things about the Olympics....you learn loads of new stuff you didn't know before.  Today i found out that some female weighlifters are actually quite cute which was quite a shock.
