Northampton to beat Southend on Saturday in div 2

Northampton are still unbeaten this season including dumping Cardiff out of the cup.

Southend are currently bottom after 2 losses and even chompys lot beat them 4-0

Northampton are 11/8 with bet365 and victor. I recommend a £40 home win on Northampton.

I agree with the Northampton one as well, but I have bought Northampton on the spreads and sold Southend so this game is massive for me already!

My first tip on here.  I really fancy 2 home bankers in the lower leagues so I'm going to tip up a double:

League 1:  Notts Co v Walsall
Notts Co have started well, winning 3-2 at Crewe on the opening day and following up with a 2-0 win over Hartlepool.  Walsall on the other hand suffered a poor home reverse to Doncaster first up before recovering to get a 1-1 point at limited Oldham last night.  County are 5/6 with the high street bookies but I am hoping for evens when Betfair have the game up.

League 2: Oxford v Plymouth
Oxford have sprinted out of the blocks winning 2-0 at fancied Bristol Rovers before beating and equally fancied Southend by the same scoreline at home last night.  Plymouth started by losing 0-2 to an Aldershot team who were beaten at home themselves last night and then managed a 0-0 draw at Dagenham last night.  Oxford are 4/5 with the bookies.

My recommendation is a double on Notts Co and Oxford and I expect them both to win with something to spare.  Both teams will be aware of the benefits of a strong start after watching the promotion battles for their divisions from upper midtable last year.  They know a 9 point 100% start sends out a real message.

With B365 a £100 stake gives a total return of £330.  I am hoping for even better with Befair.

Like the Oxford bet.......who also won on penalties against Bournemouth(full strength) (League1) in the cup last week.

Weekend golf.

It may seem foolish to abandon 3G this weekend when he needs to win to automatically qualify for the Ryder cup, and the field is very weak but on his blog he states he is knackered, so I am going to leave him alone and stick to the Barclay's tournament in the USA.

Our friend Dr Noh is in action after having a rest, and this is a really tough field. His odds for a top 20 are only 3-1 which is too skinny but I am going to advise him to be top Korean this weekend. There are only 4 choices in this market and he is joint favourite with KJ Choi at 7-4. We know Dr Noh is very consistent and with a tough course he may not have to do very much at all to win this bet.

So Dr Noh top Korean £20 @ 7-4 with Paddy Power or Ladbrokes.

With regards to an outright winner then I am going for Graham McDowell. This course has hosted the US Open before so it will be tough and that is what McDowell likes. His performance in coming 2nd in the US Open this year shows that he can handle hard courses, and by all accounts it will also be a boisterous crowd creating a need for a cool temperament.

Suggest £5 win 40-1 with Betfred.

I think it important if you are betting on golf tournaments to have a number of picks so if no one else makes any suggestions then my other picks that I am doing are Bubba Watson and Bill Haas so you may want to add them to the portfolio with £5 each.

Got to be some sort of bet for the Juddmonte.

70-1 shots for pacemakers in the without Frankel markets on betfair? Bullet train must be better value at that price than St Nicholas Abbey at evens?

Was just a question, really.

Too busy enjoying the race to worry about value hunting. Magnificent. He's actually better over this distance!

SPOTY shortlist contender? Smiley

I think Fred missed all my tips for yesterdays football.

Doncaster and Wolves both won, I also tipped Frankel over 5 lengths in a topic on here, also just come in. But of course Fred isn't going to get on everything good for sure. Sometimes we swurve and it's all good, sometimes we get on and it's all bad.

Another one tonight is Blackburn to beat Hull. I have seen the likely Blackburn side and they have so much quality, enough quality to get past a Hull side who scraped past Brighton at the weekend. Again, up for discussion is the price and I think EVS is a decent price for Blackburn, it's pretty desperate times for Blackburn at the moment and Kean, so I can only see a win for Blackburn here.

As for the Swansea bet, I think the price is right, not sure there is much value. I wouldn't like to bet on this game, because both have contrasting styles of football and long ball football certainly has the potential to stop Swansea playing their usual game for sure. I can't see many goals in the game though.

Hull are very resilient - I can easily see them getting a point at Ewood Park?  Not sure I fancy evens on Blackburn.

Yes it's getting bigger as it gains momentum. Like a sno...like a much talked about topic.

Don't worry, we'll all move on once Strictly starts.

Could easily be a draw between 2 potentially overrated sides but the bet that interests me isn't tonight, its snapping up the 9/4 on Leicester at Ewood on Saturday if Blackburn aren't great, that could turn out to be a nice bit of value.

I would agree that Hull are resillient, but this game is too important. Hull can go there and get a 0-0 or 1-1 draw, can't see them winning to be fair.
