its an offer for first time texters as a promo to launch a new betting medium.... You aren't going to get such an offer each week from them.

Betting firms are notoriously bad about restrictions, but restricting someone for taking them up on a promo that they paid to put in the RP ads would be a first....

And for Tony, the 2.7 has obv gone.. 2.8 atm, you can use the "what if" simulator to play around with the numbers so that you are indifferent to the winner.

Edit:  As you confess to not being au fait with BF yet, if the price is 2.82 than laying it for £72.50 will lock up ~ £19 for you.

40% ROI, risk free*.

I have backed Well Aquainted at fancy prices in the opener at York.  Price seems too big to me, from a shrewd stable that wouldn't put a horse in this race if they never fancied their chances. 40/1 is available in places.

I have also laid the favourite in the place market.

What a winner it would have been, too!

I was offline, so I missed it, but v unlucky by the sound of it.

Thanks Trev. (The Sir Henry photos).

I could have uploaded a dozen or more, he is such a special chap, & I've followed him, & his horses for over 40 years, & before him, his stepfather, from whom he learned his craft, Sir Cecil Boyd-Rochfort, who trained for the Royal family, & specialised in stayers & Cup horses.

Sir Henry is 69 now, incredible how a lifetime flies past.

I have met and spoken to Sir Henry on numerous occasions whilst out racing

He always remembers you and finds time for a chat, brilliant guy.

Was sat at the July course talking to him and he interrupted me three times to tell me about a horse he had
running the next day at Redcar up against a Channon odds on Favourite.
So the next day me and the wife trawled round Lincolnshire backing his horse which duly obliged.

That's a grand little anecdote, Trev, thanks.

Love those little stories.

Very kind of you Ed, thank you, much appreciated.

At the risk of even more mocking, umm, "Skype"..........that's like a sort of 'phone, yeah?

This is like those Russian dolls.

'If you want to know how to use Betfair then Skype me'

'What's Skype?'

'It's like a telephone over the internet.'

'Telephone? What on earth is that?'

'It's a form of telegraph that can carry voices'

'What strange magic is this?'

It's a (video) calling bit of (free) software that enable users to speak as if over the phone but through the computer.

It also has a sharescreen function that means I could run you visually and orally through a tutorial as I navigate my own screen.

Let me know.

Did Fred make £19?

I could understand why Tony would swerve it personally, if not sure what he was doing and frankly, £19 not being worth it.  But to anyone in a job that pays <£25/hr, stuff like this is £25 for 2 minutes' work and I can't believe it isn't more popular than it is....

Fred's man Rodriguez wins todays stage of the Vuelta, meaning he will extend his lead into the teens of seconds over Froome who finished 2nd.

Strong finish from our man. How do you read Contador's form Longy?

Until today I thought he looked real strong, but maybe his constant attacks the other day were a bluff as he didn't sustain any of them.

Today he seemed incapable of doing anything but following wheels and was tailed off when Froome went. Was reminiscent of the Tour last year when his form wasn't there.

Good day for Froome all in all and Rodriguez obv.
