why is speroni still only playing at this level?
My favourite player of all time I think. Dundee hero!
+1
I've never been to a footballers testimonial, bit of a waste of time IMO, but will definately make the effort for Jules. Absolute legend.
Did you know there is a restaurant in Selhurst Park named after him.

Daily Report as @ 0830, Saturday September 15th
We lost £50 yesterday.
Of three bets we placed, one completed, which lost.
The loss was a dog @ Romford. We got to the 1st bend in great shape, hugging the rails & on the shoulder of Trap 6, well clear of the rest, but we exited the 1st bend plum last, clearly lame. These things happen. It went off at 11/8, we had 9/4.
Two other 2 bets placed, both for today, were….
Hampshire most 6’s v Warwickshire today (£50 @ 11/10)
Main Sequence in the St Leger, £50 EW @ 8/1
Our only other (in)action yesterday was the Women’s Open Golf at Hoylake, in which we have Catriona Matthews, & where the oddest thing arose.
Play in Round 2 was abandoned after an hour due to storm force winds, with conditions so bad that it was not even possible to place the ball on a tee-peg to drive off, the balls were being blown off the peg. Cristie Kerr made three attempts to tee off with this happening, but before she could try again, she was literally blown off her feet.
Scores were horrendous, with quintuple bogeys & all sorts, & the girls got a little bit cross with the Organisers.
Eventually, & very unusually, all Round 2 scores were wiped, & declared “void”.

The ones that got away.....
Dung wrote this earlier in the week.....
I often like to back teams who are coming into form, especially in the first quarter of the season. Brighton started with a 1-0 defeat at Hull, before being held 0-0 at home by a strong Cardiff team. However, their last two games have seen thumping wins over Barnsley at home (5-1) and Burnley away (3-1).
This game looks perfect to build on this momentum for Poyet’s side against a team still finding their feet on their travels in the Championship.
Recommendation: Brighton to beat Sheff Weds at Evens.

Leeds v Wakefield (we are already on)
The big story in the media today – will they or wont they shake hands in QPR v Chelsea apart – is at Doncaster, where Camelot attempts to be the first horse in 42 years to win the Triple Crown. (2000 Guineas, Derby, St Leger).
What a career O’Brien has ahead of him, but he’ll do well to best THE O’Brien – Vincent, who was, quite simply, incomparable.
He trained over jumps initially, training THREE successive Grand National winners , all different horses. He also won the Champion Hurdle three years on the bounce with Hattons Grace, & the Cheltenham Gold Cup three years running with Cottage Rake.
Vincent then founded what became the Ballydoyle operation & Coolmore Stud, initially with Robert Sangster & John Magnier. Stable Jockey was Lester Piggott.
They relied on the Northern Dancer bloodline, & dominated racing.
One of his lesser stars was Sadlers Wells, “lesser” is relative, he won a classic & 3 Group 1’s, but he went on to become the dominant sire of several generations.
Vincent trained 6 Derby Winners including Sir Ivor, Roberto, & The Minstrel, the latter being possibly Piggott’s greatest ever ride. His Alleged won the Arc two years running, too. Tidy trainer, then.
None, to my mind, surpassed his Triple Crown Winner, Nijinsky, and with Lester up top, there are few racing memories which surpass it – it was the golden age of Horseracing.
As well as the Derby, 2000 Guineas & St Leger, in the same year the great horse also won the King George, & the Irish Derby.
Nijinsky was retired to stud in the USA, renamed as Nijinsky II, & was hugely successful as a sire, & a sire of sires.

I really like the look of over 41.5 @ 10/11 with about half of oddschecker at the moment in the Pitt-NYJ game at the weekend. Pitt are universally thought of as a tough defensive team but Manning moved the ball well enough against them last week and this week they have a couple of key defensive injuries. Firstly, Polamalu, Darelle Revis and James Harrison are all key defensive doubts but also Mendenhall and Conner (much less important) are both running backs that are doubtful that will make it harder for both teams to control the clock if they are up big. Weather is fine so no problems there. I think it will be bet up hence posting it now
Thanks reds.

Banzai £5 please
Ben Marshall 16-1 FGS Corals Wolves v Leicester tomorrow
Penalties, free kicks from everywhere, long shots
He's not a 16-1 shot in any Leicester game he plays. He's shortened for home games to under 10-1.
last season
this season. Have that.
and the penalty
So you get all the setpieces, plus the long range stuff, at a sporting price.
