Daily Report as @ 0730, Wednesday September 26th

As you were. No bets completed yesterday, & only one new bet placed.

The NFL debate continued, & amazingly, some bookies refunded losing Packer bets as I understand it. Not because bookies are nice people, but because in the USA, they quickly recognized that bad refereeing decisions damage the game & everything about it. Will such a line ever occur to Premiership football in England, where mistakes are made every single game, not surprisingly given the speed at which it is played? Of course not, there are VERY GOOD reasons why we don't allow Technology, instant replay cameras & "reviews" in football, even though almost all other major sports do. (Tennis, Horseracing, Cricket, Rugby etc). I just wish I knew what those compelling reasons were.

T20WC continued, we are not crushing, we have a few live ones, & a few in bad shape. Our book is very small so far, but as the Tourney "proper" begins, I guess the volume will step up soon. Many thanks to MCC - & Cake King - for the T20WC updates.

Lots of Ryder Cup chatter, I'll summarise the suggestions today, so we have something to work off. I fancy we will be very busy with Ryder Cup stuff all weekend.

Head-splitting debate about the probabilities of fourball & foursomes scores & their assumed value. "double up" laid claim to the most boring Post in blonde's history, but I beg to differ. Go to almost any Online Staking Thread & read 18 pages of mind-numbing 'Stars Hand histories all followed by "what was the twat thinking?". (Clue - "we lost the hand"). Jeez, that stuff abso does my head in.

A brilliant debate about football betting, centring on "I think x will win" & "it is VALUE we should look look for, not history".

That was topped by War & Peace by Lord Channing, which was spellbinding stuff to us ice-creams.

Amyone who failed to learn at least something about punting yesterday was not paying attention.

There was some proper old-fashioned Cup action on telly, too.

What do we think of Wolcott to score against a shocking cov team tonight? Arsenal could put up a cricket score against them! He will surely start after only playing a handful of minutes this season so far and may even be chucked up front after the media reports earlier in the week. I've had a tickle on him to score 1, 2 and 3 goals.  He's 11-8 to score at anytime. Think he should be closer to evens.

Recommend Walcott to score in 90mins 40quid at 11-8 on betfred.

We had better wait & see what the Boys say MajorMajor Sir.

11/8 to score looks frightfully short to an ice-cream, I must say.

Has to be too short. 11/8?

I know Cov are bad, so does everyone else

I know Walcott may play, and may play up front. So does everyone else

If Cov are that bad, lets look at the Arsenal team and find a less exposed play to score anytime at a less exposed price........

This Motherwell v The Rangers tie is a fascinating betting market.
Last Friday both teams were each of 2 with every bookie and then by Monday Motherwell were 21/10 with Hills and Betfred.Hills now go 6/4 but Corals are best priced 15/8.
I have been told by a good source that Motherwell will play their strongest side and everyone I have spoke to fancies them to win.
The only doubt I have is that The Rangers may enjoy being the underdog with the pressure relatively off.

On the technology debate I must step in.  I am ANTE technology for any sport.

There is no bigger highlight in live sport than a tennis player absolutely losing it at an umpire, eyes goggled, veins bulging out of forehead.  Who can remember Gatting going bezerk at that Pakistani umpire?  Happy memories.  All of this has been stolen by technology and football must never go down that route.

If I had my way they wouldn't time qualifying in the Grand Prixes and would settle grid positions via a mass brawl in the paddock when the hour was up.

Coventry have just appointed a new manager as well in Robins.  I know that the new manager impact is often over estimated but one would think they will be a little more focused now trying to impress the new guy rather than the shambles when they were managerless.

It fascinates me, too. Leaving the footballing stuff aside, the psychology is amazing.

Current form? Forget that, this is EGO.

One team is here, one team wants to be here, & to prove it should be here. An incredible & very unusual dynamic.

Awaiting team news etc,

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-cup/west-brom-v-liverpool/winner

Why are Liverpool favourites?

No idea.  Also no idea why they are 8/13 to win at Carrow Road on Saturday.

I would say that Walcott is highly unlikely to play as a lone striker as Giroud seems likely to start. I would also say that his public utterances about wanting a central striking role and that being at the heart of his not signing a new contract when we all know that it's purely money-related will not have given him any leverage with AW as to his actual playing position. The reverse is not impossible.

I reckon he will probably start tonight but on the right of a front three.

I'd rather be on Giroud @ 4/5 anytime than Walcott @ 11/8.

You'd think they will give Giroud the full 90 mins as well as they are desperate for him to get off the mark confidence wise.
