I wish the whole internet was more like Tips for Tikay. I suggested this bet on Twitter and I would bet a substantial number that I have risked more than all of my followers added together. I would also say that they would have to be terrible at staking to have lost following my Sunday NFL tweets.

This week I chose to have some spread bets as I was struggling to get on fixed odds.

What is the point of arguing with idiots?

Just block them, it's incredibly satisfying.

What a lot of old nonsense! If people follow someone who put up bets, why on Earth are they criticising him? You either trust his research, wisdom and intuition or you follow someone else.

I'm sure every single one if they met you would be all super-polite and "oh it was a pleasure playing with you sir"

...and I think Mere just had a coronary thinking about his new post of chief controller of the internet...

As an FYI to Fred, the chess starts at the earlier time of 1pm today. I'm playing a local league match myself tonight so if it is a late finish (including if there is a playoff), I won't be able to give you updates. I'll be out of action from 7ish

Thankyou sir. Nothing so far for tonight unfortunately, however I'm keeping my eye on one of the lines and if it moves in my direction (which I think it will) then we could have a little sweat tonight also.

I might be posting alot betting against the LA Lakers in the next few days too, they are all over the place and its a decent time to pound on whoever they are playing they travel to Cleveland tomorrow so hopefully we will get a decent line.

Anyone have a link to a site where It has fixtures from a variety of leagues, results and the odds for o/u 1.5/2.5/3.5 etc in one big table as opposed to having to select a team one at a time. Sure I have such a link at home, at work now been googling my ass off and can't find anything. Help?

Edit like this: http://www.oddsportal.com/matches/soccer/20121209/ but instead of 1X2 it has U1.5/O1.5 Etc.

Adams ½-½ Kramnik.

This would be quite good news...

If we had, say, bet on Carlsen to win the tournament

very good well done

Carlsen was losing at one point against Anand today having played the early middle game very oddly, but like Merlin the Magician got out of it somehow. I am not sure how and I watched it earlier for a while!

Predicting the world number 1 to win a tournament is not exactly hectoresque but praise most gratefully accepted.

He might squeeze this game now to see if he can win it. I prefer his position now. That would be something very special.

I think predicting the world chess No 1 to win a tournament compares very favourably to predicting a French rugby team to lose in Ireland in the cold, wet, and wind !
