Mixed news ahead of the cricket
Finn is likely out, Bresnan or Onions to replace. A blow
Dhoni launches into Gambhir
http://sports.ndtv.com/india-vs-england-2012/news/item/200614-ms-dhoni-lodges-complaint-against-gambhirs-attitude-report
which, if true, speaks to a lack of team spirit....not that surprising but not too helpful on the eve of a test...
Surely the Indians will produce a "result" wicket still the key men will be swan and monty I don't think it's a huge blow for us.. As huge as it could be or it would be in a home test

Following my Wycombe success - Lets get the darts going; the PDC world starts Friday and I think I have found a smidgen of value in the betting on the "Fourth Quarter"
Recommendation £40 Justin Pipe 15/2 Boyles
So, why. Well I could right an essay having gone through the draw, however I will keep it fairly brief.
James Wade is favourite - clearly brilliant, yet troubled. I think the longer tournament gives him more time to melt down and we have maximum time to face him, as we cannot meet him until the QF. Also in this group of eight, we have probably the most dangerous of the non Top 16 in Beaton and Mervyn king - not overly afraid of wither, although they may represent tougher challenges than some of our "also rans"
Moving to other group of eight - I would have been considering Huybrechts - who made the recent players final at the expense of our man, however sad news - his dad passed away last week. I think this probably means steer clear, altho can go the other way obviously. Wes Newton is a very talented player - however continually fails to translate his floor form to the big stage.
Our man - well this year has been a breakthrough year. he made semis of Players at Butlins, made the last 16 last year, QF of World matchplay, and has risen to 9 in the PDC rankings. He has to get past a woeful Andy Jenkins, then Mark Walsh, who as made one last 16 this year and is ranked 22. then its Newton or Huybrechts. If we get this far and wade crashes can get out and bank if we want to if Wade gone or let it ride
More importantly - this is the weakest quarter and I just cant be with Wade, Newton or Huybrechts. Throw in our man has the ability to piss of the most patient of throwers and thoroughly annoy fast paced players and we have a bet. As short as 9/2,
generally - Boyles are out of line
Would be interested in Dubai, Snowball thoughts amongst others - however I am on.

I like where you're going with that, definitely looks the easiest quarter to attack. Mark Walsh is garbage now.
The Bronzed Adonis also overpriced @ 25s, tougher draw though, likely to face Wade in the 2nd and King possibly in the 3rd.

Dont mind this approach either, 66/1 now - so _ guess we have to be laying at 7.7/1 at SF stage - so if Lewis and Taylor go that far with say Lewis / MVG and whitlock, they probably bet Taylor 4/6, Lewis / MVG 3/1, Whitlock 8/1, Pipe 10s to 105% - so maybe better with Boyles 15/2 - howver if Taylor bombs and other shochs could look slightly shorter but cant see any way he won't be outsider of four and would have to be a rough last four for him to be shorter than the 7.7/1 we need. Obv a bit different at 75/1. Guess it gives you more flexibility to get out earlier if Wade on fire.
Don't miss 15/2 Fred

England won the toss and bat
Now 7/4, India 9/4, draw 2/1.

Agree with most of that apart from him playing Walsh in the 2nd round. My biggest bet in the 1st round is on the Sniper to beat Walsh. I like Pipe's chances in this quarter but will be funking against him as I don't want MVG to have to play him in the semis.

Interesting approach by England today: bat long and very carefully. I imagine the plan is 500 over two days and kill India's winning chances. Pitch looks to be offering no spin but uneven bounce has been suggested. This must be a good toss to have won.
Geoff Boycott and I are in agreement over the selection of Bresnan over Onions: both of us think it's the wrong call when Onions did so well in Oz and bowls wicket to wicket. I can only imagine it is due to Bres's batting.

Skillz
You're listening to the penetrating and disturbing sounds of Mockers FM...
All I will say is you don't know what a good score is on a pitch until both sides have batted on it.

...and whilst we struggle in India, we switch continents, to see how we did in the NBA, where we went with the Hawks (-4), which later moved to -6.5.

Morning Mr T. I don't want you to feel cheated about the reasoning for the cricket bets so here it is. I felt that the pitch would be good for batting and that we must finally win a toss and get the best use of it. I felt that Cook was due a failure so the value spot for where the runs would come from was Compton and Trott.
As regards the Anderson bet. In the 3 test matches played here the best Indian bowling performance has been Sharma's 4 fer so I felt that backing Anderson, one of the very best seamers in the world, at 9-2 was decent, I knew Finn was a doubt and Bresnan hasn't looked like getting anyone out all tour. In the last test here SA bowler Steyn took 7 wickets in the game. Anderson is best price 4-1 now so another slice of pie.

Thanks h.
Weird the way this match is panning out. We won the toss we so badly wanted, but it does not seem to have gone to plan subsequently.
All aboard Anderson then.....
