I was unable to watch the 49-ers game - cliffs anyone?

Fred has a goodly sum invested in the 49-ers to win Superbowl, as follows......

£150 @ 6.8

£100 @ 8.4

Current prices......

Also, can someone explain to me - use short words please - why last night's result was so good for our 49-ers bet, please?

49ers went 31-3 in front and should have been more

Patriots stage a late fightback and score 28 unanswered points to tie the game up in the 4th quarter

Kapoernick leads the 49ers down the field for another touchdown in 2 plays and restores the lead

Patriots don't manage to score again and lose  game at the death which looked like it was over in the 3rd quarter.

I'll leave Keith/Bobby and the more knowledgeable ones to elaborate on the finer points Cheesy

Note - the above numbers do NOT include settlement of the remaining bets on the 4th Test between India & England, which is yet to complete.

These will be included in tomorrow's report.

Andy Murray is 4-1 (Hills, Sportingbet) to win SPOTY 2013, despite being around 3-1 for each of the Aus Open, US Open and Wimbledon.

That doesn't work out somehow but I've no interest in tieing up £££ for a whole year. Was expecting him to be around 2-1 tbh. His 11-4 in one place, which looks nearer the mark. Recommend an interest here.

Also, Froome is 12-1 with Badblokes (5-1 with Hills). He's around 7-2 for the TDF.

I am not sure we can really price this market up?

Morning Mr T.  We have spacefrog in the thread, showing good rugby knowledge, Milli shopping for figgy pudding, Camels toyboy playing a blinder - Christmas has truly arrived early. And to top them all we can finally get the Pujara pyjama party started. Never has a cup of Carte Noire tasted so good.

If this link jobbie works then you can join the cast in a little celebratory dance. You will soon pick up the moves Mr T.

Ha, "Camel's toyboy". Colin Kaepernick shall henceforth be known by that very moniker.

Spacefrog showing good rugby knowledge? Impossible. He is a Frenchie.

The significance of the 49ers result last night can be seen in the current NFC West Table

49ers W 10 L 3 D 1
Seahawks W 9 L 5

One team will win the division and get a home tie in the first round of the play offs, the other a wild card and play away

Next week the Seahawks host the 49ers. Seahawks unbeaten at home and a very tough game for the 49ers. If the 49ers had lost last night then Seattle could have taken the division lead next week

Two games left of the regular season

Yes, agreed.

Interestingly, you can measure profitability & ROI all sorts of different ways (sample size being important) but depending how you view it, Doobsy is our most successful tipster, (with 20 or more tips) in that he has made MORE money, & has a better ROI, than anyone else.

Quite a contrast between the punting style of hector & doobs, too. hector has lots of small nitty bets, maybe 10 per month, whereas Doobsy only recommends, on average, 2 per month, but tends to find big priced big-value stuff.

I'm sure there are lessons to be learned there for most of us.
