Fair enough. Felt it important to put t'other view across.

That's what I'm talking about.

Made of the right stuff!!

I don't know if anyone has ever been knighted for services to the punting community but if he wins we should start a petition.

TY mate. He is my biggest lifetime win and it's not even close. That game did nothing for my life expectancy though!!

Unbelievable game

Lewis showed such heart and fight and improved form from his other games, I thought he deserved to hit one of those double tops tbh.

He was a great loser too, imagine what Taylor would have said in his place in that interview straight after the match!

2.6 MVG seems like insane value to me.

I'll say this once and very quietly...

Taylor has played a succession of people who have played out of their skin right up to the final and then lost: Jenkins, Whitlock, Manley, Dudbridge(?). Then there was the one who was a massive outsider and IIRC capitulated in the final (albeit against Part): Kirk Shepherd.

Just trying to contextualise before everyone presses when it might not be value.

Enjoying the ride tho.

#goteammvg

Think those days are in the past.

He used to have a cloak of invincibility, which is no longer there.

Even the players that did beat him, were so emotionally spent they usually lost in the next round.

MVG has proved tonight he isn't just talented, he's made of the right stuff.

Actually think Barney is a bigger danger than Taylor.

I Backed MVG back in September...at the time I thought I'd backed a kid that if everything fell right he had a chance. Fast forward to the Grand Prix Final ( fact he made the final was über progress), he missed a shedful of darts to make it 3-2. He went 4-1 down. Most fold and lose 6-1. He won 6-4. Tonight he played Lewis in to the game by missing doubles. Last four sets Lewis threw it all at him had he won I'd have doffed cap and said "too good". He didnt buckle despite the missed doubles and pinged them when it really really mattered. That 120 kill was immense. Right stuff!

A man who can hit the same tiny spot again and again, over and over from eight feet away should not have difficulty finding a lady.

Good morning.

Our overnight wager on the UFC appears to have ended unsuccessfully.

Here's the winner telling the tale.

Daily Report as at 0920, Sunday December 30th

We lost £60 yesterday.

Three bets, each of £20, all went south.

Quite a result actually, as we could have lost a good deal more on what was a very trappy day. Luckily, we held our discipline, & mostly kept our powder dry.

Not all bad, either, as in the Darts, our 50/1 voucher remains alive & well, & Mr MVG advances to tonight's Semi-Finals in good heart. So many regular readers stand to win big lumps of money if MVG can pull this off.

We have a big bet tonight on Dallas @ Washington, too, £100 on UNDER 49.5 points.

When is the final?

He has to negotiate the Semi-Final this evening first. It looks straightforward - on paper, at least.......

If he wins that, tomorrow (New Years Eve) is a rest day, & they play the Final on Tuesday.

Amazing how many different people are on MVG, & as far as I know, this is all down to Bazzaboy, who marked our card over 3 months ago, when MVG was 100/1, then repeatedly reminded us. Fred eventually ceased dithering on Oct 12th & got on at 50/1.

If MVG makes the Final, he will face either Phil Taylor, or fellow Dutch bloke Barney, so there is still a way to go.

FWIW, MVG is 1/4 to win his Semi tonight, & 13/8 to win the thing outright.

Is there, or should there be, a green out strategy?

Such that rather than having a result of -£10 or +£500 the thread backs the final opponent (assuming MVG makes it) to win £100/£150/£200 (as you see fit)

and turn a -10/+500 book into for example +100/+400?
