O'driscoll has history with turning down job offers. Rejected Burnley right before Brian Laws got the job. Didn't occur to mention beforehand, not that it'd make much difference.

It's by no means a nailed on certainty, and the outcome will surely come down to whether or not he wants the job, but if you're quick you can get 6/1 on Sean O'Driscoll to be next Barnsley manager at Bet Victor, which I think represents good value.
Called it right though, and had a decent sweat at a good price so am more disappointed from the fan perspective than the missed bet. |

In happier BFC related news, we've sold Scott Wiseman to Blackpool.
Fine as an attacking full-back / wing-back but never a centre-back in a million years and that's where he's been played for most of the season. It will do him good to move on too as he was booed by his own supporters in the game which led to Hill being fired.

Over the past few days there has been speculation regarding Sean O'Driscoll and the position of first team manager at Barnsley Football Club.
Regarding this Sean O'Driscoll has made the following statement:
"I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to have spoken to Barnsley. In my one meeting with the directors I was keen to ascertain exactly what the short and long term strategies and ambitions of the club are and how I may be able to help the club achieve those. At no point were terms discussed by either party.
"Barnsley is a well-run club whose achievements in successfully maintaining their Championship status for so many seasons should never be underestimated. The directors' commitment to and passion for Barnsley FC impressed me. The directors are understandably keen to make a quick appointment to continue the work of trying to retain the club's Championship status once again. But at this moment, and given the extremely disappointing and sudden nature of my departure from Nottingham Forest, I've respectfully declined the opportunity to become Barnsley's next manager. I wish the club, players and supporters all the best for the rest of the season."
The Board of Barnsley Football Club will continue the process of selecting a permanent first team manager of the Club.

ul sheriff more for your team than the bet
i dont think you will see sean for a while from what i was told earlier today bit like after donny would not be surprised to see him go in as a coach somewere in league one or even lower
he really does not like the limelight in any degree
