Pujara, meanwhile, is now 6/1 in most spots, including Ladbrokes, but 8/1 is still available.

The view presumably exists that he will not play the first game. Once the Team is announced, this market may chabge dramatically.

MASTERS SNOOKER 2013

i would recommend a small wager on Shaun Murphy (available at 10s).  been very consistent in Televised events recently.  Trump far too short at 7/2.

Smurph is 11's in places, but Coral refund up to £100 if Trump wins, he's 10's there.

He also struggled in some short best of 5 Championship League snooker yesterday and said on twitter ''I'm useless off camera'', or to that effect.

totally agree - was talking to him at last years event - doesnt take the non televised events seriously - only looking to concentatre on the big 3-4 events

Ruholding! I remember you! You're the fella what stopped me backing Van Persie for top Prem scorer @ 16/1 last season isn't it?

Rylan now 5/4 biggest. Mid-afternoon contraction normally means a good show is imminent that evening in my experience. Predicted ETA into Oddsonville = some time tomorrow.

11/8 biggest now. Guess the Show was not so good.

For those of you waiting for NRNB @ Cheltenham, BaldFred is NRNB on the Gold Cup

Interestingly, Pricewise has advised Flemenstar! (which Fred has now cut from 12's to 9's)  From what we all saw in the Lexus, that is puzzling to say the least.

Daily Report as @ 0905, Wednesday January 9th

We lost £42 yesterday.

Probably best to quickly draw a veil over our sole completed bet yesterday, it got proper battered.

Our only other bet was a further £20, this time at a much better price, 10/1, on Pujara as Top Indian Batter in the ODI Series.

In another notable, we gained 2 new followers, including, it seems, a Cricket Expert, with the arrival of "gherkin" & a snooker expert in RUHolding. Expect more cricket & snooker action.

Interestingly, Pricewise has advised Flemenstar! (which Fred has now cut from 12's to 9's)  From what we all saw in the Lexus, that is puzzling to say the least.

Couldn't you make a case that Flemenstar will only run in the Gold Cup if connections were sure he would stay?  If he does stay then he appears to have more class than anything else in the Lexus.  So he should be shortest of those from the Lexus if he stays.  So if betting NRNB Flemenstar is a good value betting proposition.

But this logic relies on connections doing the sensible thing, which given them talking about running in anything but the Ryanair, is not a given.

Flemenstar also has an entry for the Queen Mum Doobs.

You can definitely come to the conclusion (as I did, even if puzzled) that Pricewise also saw the Lexus, yet has reason to believe he is suddenly going to get an extra quarter mile, or be withdrawn.

P.S If the Ryanair is the target (and I have already punted that it is) then Sportingbet are waaaaay OOL @ 7/1 ~ as short as 5/2 elsewhere.

When this was posted I must admit I was surprised to see he was that big. Why is he 11/1? The bookies will know he does better on TV and that he's a very talented player over a longer format. So what's the deal?

Quality of player obv very good in the Masters, shortish matches, 10's is around the rigth price imo.

11's very marginal value

Thanks Dwayne.

I think, unless it is a standout piece of value, then we would give it a miss.

It is hard to assesss if the price is good, that is the problem as I see it.

I must say I think there is value all over the shop in both the Masters and the Worlds, because I don't see how Judd Trump can be as short as he is as market leader in both events.  Murphy, Selby and Robertson all look to have generous prices in both events, so depending on which player you favour I do think there is value to be had due to an over-rated favourite.  Or we could just lay Trump I guess for the low return option.

Well if we don't know exactly who will beat the "over-rated" favourite, then (assuming he is over-rated) Laying him would be the route, surely?
