PDC World Darts 2014

Kim Huybrechts @50/1 Bwin

I like Huybrechts for much the same reasons as I liked MVG last year.  He probably underachieved overall last season despite making two finals in a couple of the smaller TV tournaments (Euro Championship and Players Championship), but still it wasn't a bad effort for his first full year on the tour.  He lost a lot of matches he should have won (again not dissimilar to MVG) by missing match doubles.  He went out in the 1st round at the Worlds but can probably consider himself a tad unlucky given he averaged 98 which will win a lot more matches than it will lose, he also lost his father days before the tournament.  This weekend he dragged Belgium to the finals of the World Cup (a pairs event) which is no mean feat given his partner was making his TV debut.  He is a heavy scorer and there is definite scope for improvement.  I can see him having a big year and come December I have a feeling a 50/1 ticket will look very very nice, he is generally 33/1 with 40/1 only available in a couple of spots.  Recommend £20.

Billoxi, can't believe it, it's like losing a son. You made your first ever post in the greatest thread on this site and look where you've ended up! Mixing with the likes of these degens.

Nice write up though, will be on for my FSTG Step 1.

We poached him in the transfer window.

You can't take your eyes off it for 5 minutes.

Blimey Bazza, a YEAR ahead! I'll be happy if I'm still here then, never mind still punting.

After all the MVG fun, how can we not?

We have £20 @ 50/1, BWIN, Kim Huybrechts, to win the 2014 PDC Worlds.

Longest sweat ever ahoy.

I have a tip for football this evening if I may Tikay.

Pacos Ferreira v Estoril (Home win between 2.0 - 2.05).

Recommended bet £10-£20

Pacos Ferreira have been the surprise package of the Portugese league this season currently sitting in 4th place (partly to do with their good form and partly because of Sporting Lisbon's poor form). They take on a team tonight in Estoril who've not been on a great run and are sitting in 8th (a lot higher than expected for this season, having just been promoted). Pacos Ferreira's last 6 reads W3 L3 not that spectacular in plain numbers but when considering that the three losses were against Sporting Lisbon (under a new manager), Benfica and Porto it shows that they've been able to bounceback from those with wins in the other 3 against Academica, Gil Vicente & Moreirense. Compare this with Estoril's form of W1 DR2 L3 in the last 6, a good draw was picked up against Porto at the start of those 6 games but since then they've lost to lowly Nacional & Gil Vicente, the only game they won was against relegation threatened Beira-Mar and that was a slim 1-0 victory away from home.

In the head to heads these teams have met 8 times with Pacos taking 4 and the sides drawing 4 meaning that Estoril have never beaten Pacos. Couple this with the last 6 games of each team (I don't like to look back much further) Pacos Ferreira have

There are also no injury concerns for Pacos that I have found. They did play a game midweek in the cup but this shouldn't affect there preparation and there should be no need for major rotation as after tonight they have a full week until there next game.

Our good friends @ Bet365, who generally restrict me to bugger all, let this one through, though they seem to have nicked a penny on the possible return!

We have £20 @ 21/20, Bet365, Pacos Ferreira to beat Estoril tonight.

ON

1  Pacos Ferreira    Pacos Ferreira v Estoril

Chris Huhne has been forced to resign as MP for Eastleigh

A by-election is triggered

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/feb/04/chris-huhne-facing-jail-justice

At the last election

Liberal Democrat    Chris Huhne    24,966    46.5    +8.2
Conservative    Maria Hutchings    21,102    39.3    +2.1
Labour    Leo Barraclough    5,153    9.6    −11.5
UKIP    Ray Finch    1,933    3.6    +0.2

Since when the Lib Dems have gone into an unpopular coalition, alienating many core supporters by working with the Tories

There will also be a protest vote against Huhne as is usual in these "scandal" by elections

Labour cannot win here, even if they swing back all their 2010 losses and gain 10% on top they are third

The Conservatives should be odds-on

Any odds against price is a complete rick. In my opinion

Completely endorse this. Polls say Cameron is much more popular than his party but the numbers don't justify a 20k swing to Labour. Only one way this should be going. Has to be more than a 50% chance.

Thanks Rich.

Wow!

Even my happily limited knowledge of Politics tells me that the Lib Dems cannot possibly win.

Hills go 8/11, Ladbrokes 6/4!

The 6/4 will disappear very shortly imo, but PP are currently 11/8, & Bet365 6/5.

I've "only" had £40, I don't really want to risk more & jeopardise my Laddies Account on what looks a bit of a rick, but I'm very happy with that.

We have £40 @ 6/4, Ladbrokes, Conservatives to win the Eastleigh By-Election.

UKIP must have a huge chance surely?

they'll make a significant gain

The Conservatives lose share to them, for sure

Lib lose votes to Labour

My view is that the core Libdem vote is more miserable than the core Tory vote, hence why I think Con are favourites
