Tighty, I know you fancy a close game, so is a drop goal at 13/8 worthy of consideration? I have a slight concern that it isn't something England use a lot, which suggests you're really betting on Ireland doing it and that, ergo, the price isn't very attractive.

Rather than backing England at even money, is asking Ray Winston nicely and playing England -1.5 at 11/10 a better price?

I think Ireland win a close one. Mind you I was miles away from the two results today

Don't think Farrell is a drop goal kicker is he? Flood maybe, Sexton possibly

Doesn't strike me as a great price for a drop goal tomorrow, whereas it might in some games

How bad were France in the rugby?

Blimey moses, such talented backs but such appalling team selection and coaching.

Michalak must have incriminating photos on Serge Blanco or something.

Truly dire.

Head and heart make me lean the other way on the match result but it will be a cracking game for sure.

I think Snedeker is a good pick for The Masters but this is the nut worst moment to be getting on with him leading this week's tournament imo. Surely he'll be at least 33/1 again in a week or so when someone else is in the limelight.

I always try and stick to my grandfather's (who was a market trader) golden rule "buy straw hats in the winter" if at all possible.

I agree in general with this approach but that price hasn't been adjusted so think it is just a bit stale given his form.  I actually backed him at 40/1 last week in similar circumstances and that went.  Unless he plays very badly in next few weeks I would be surprised if we see 33/1 again but I hope we do as I haven't got quite enough on yet.

Sorry to ramble on but been thinking about this......I think that this is one of those spots where something happens to a player that transforms him and means that previous years form is less relevant.  With Snedeker it appears that his Fedex cup win has transformed him and on that basis I think his form this year is much more relevant than his form previously.  He hasn't finished out of the top 25 since then and is just bursting with confidence with three top 3 finishes in five tournaments and looking good for a win this week.

Patrick Mendy @ 9/1 v Patrick Neilson.

Neilson is a bit of a hype machine and viewed as a successor to Kessler in Denmark but he is nowhere near as good as that.  Mendy has a pretty ordinary looking 14-5 record but he is better than that.  He doesn't have a big name promoter so has to take what he can get fight wise and has often had to take fights at short notice.  He won Prizefighter as a 19yo.  He has changed trainers and had a full camp for this one.  He is not a 9/1 shot here and I think this one could be pretty tight although getting the nod in Denmark won't be easy.  Recommend a banzai £10.

Just been up to the attic to get my old rugby boots out and found my French O'level certificate. Now to phone Mr St Andre and tell him about my French Grandmother and I will be good to go.

Looking at Mansfield town @ 10/1 to win the Conference with 1/4 odds for a top 3 finish on VC

Top 3 looks pretty good.

Just looks good value

Horse I fancy tomorrow quite a bit.

Bitaphon in 4.50 Southwell.

Might be a fairly good heat for the track, but been waiting for this to go back to the sand pit.

Well drawn, back to form for a new trainer and below his last winning mark.

Think it's worth a small wager at 5/1 which is generally available.

£20 maybe.

Been flicking through the French press to revel in its scathing comments. Their press love kicking their players when they're down almost as much as our press do.

Le Monde seems quite annoyed (according to my schoolboy French). Think I've got:

"Creators of a match that was dull and without imagination, the French team failed to redeem themselves"

It also points out that France haven't lost their first two games since 1982. It highlights the battle was lost on the ground and that they can see no way France can beat England without something dramatic happening.

LibDems have chosen a local councillor as its candidate for the Eastleigh By-Election. He's been there for 19 years:

Maria Hutchings will be the Tory candidate and she was the runner up to The Stig last time. (Some say he got his wife to take his points...)

I pointed out because it happened like 1 min after I got oddschecker up after seeing your post and they have a free bet promo for 4/1+ winners. Just wanted to let the team know that's all.

TK, Doncaster lost today, as did League leaders Tranmere. Bournemouth who I believe Horseplayer (possibly redarmi) pointed out as contenders continued their march forward. Big game on Tuesday for us, Doncaster at home to MK are 11/8 whilst Bournemouth are away at Crewe are 13/10. Slight edge to them it seems. They are 2/1 best price now to win the league.

You mentioned Coventry's marketing ploy that brought XX,000 home fans to a JPT semi final. Today was Rob Jones Day at Doncaster Rovers. A tribute to "Captain Fantastic". Brought in an extra 700 fans anyway ^.^

Poor man's version of Chuck Norris Facts.

Used to love that site.

"There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live"

"There used to be a road called Chuck Norris but it had to be changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives"

"When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he had three missed calls from Chuck Norris"

"Chuck Norris doesn't read. He just stares down books until he gets the information he wants"

Hi Bazza,
