Patrick Mendy @ 9/1 v Patrick Neilson.

Neilson is a bit of a hype machine and viewed as a successor to Kessler in Denmark but he is nowhere near as good as that.  Mendy has a pretty ordinary looking 14-5 record but he is better than that.  He doesn't have a big name promoter so has to take what he can get fight wise and has often had to take fights at short notice.  He won Prizefighter as a 19yo.  He has changed trainers and had a full camp for this one.  He is not a 9/1 shot here and I think this one could be pretty tight although getting the nod in Denmark won't be easy.  Recommend a banzai £10.

Hi Bazza,

I have been offline (or unable to Post) all evening.

When is - or was - this fight?

Was earlier. Mendy lost a UD but it was a lot closer than the judges had it, no complaints about te decision though as Neilson edged it.  Fred saved a tenner.

Yup, sorry, just found the answer here.....

Fred is running good, we ducked a right hook there, & missed another loser earlier today as I was too late.

Horse I fancy tomorrow quite a bit.

Bitaphon in 4.50 Southwell.

Might be a fairly good heat for the track, but been waiting for this to go back to the sand pit.

Well drawn, back to form for a new trainer and below his last winning mark.

Think it's worth a small wager at 5/1 which is generally available.

£20 maybe.

365 just gone 11/2

I knew Fred was persona non gratis with them amd I thought 5/1 was fine
I pointed out because it happened like 1 min after I got oddschecker up after seeing your post and they have a free bet promo for 4/1+ winners. Just wanted to let the team know that's all.

TK, Doncaster lost today, as did League leaders Tranmere. Bournemouth who I believe Horseplayer (possibly redarmi) pointed out as contenders continued their march forward. Big game on Tuesday for us, Doncaster at home to MK are 11/8 whilst Bournemouth are away at Crewe are 13/10. Slight edge to them it seems. They are 2/1 best price now to win the league.

You mentioned Coventry's marketing ploy that brought XX,000 home fans to a JPT semi final. Today was Rob Jones Day at Doncaster Rovers. A tribute to "Captain Fantastic". Brought in an extra 700 fans anyway ^.^

Thanks, we appreciate these regular Updates on these "Season" bets.

Hi Camel, how you doing?
What you think of silv conti?  i think it looks very decent thought that was a very good run today in the conditions, and has looked very impressive in previous runs this season and last, jumps superb, how bigadzs puts his good jumping up as a minus point because it might not allways jump like that is a bit?Huh?? to me.
the horse you fancy looks like it has a chance but do you think its really a 'value' bet at 5/1?   good luck with it im hopefully off to devon and exeter tomorrow if the inspection is passed

Thanks - I think.

I was reminded of two off-Thread bets of mine today, because I heard the name of one of them on the wireless on a review of today's racing.

I had placed them both on January 3rd, but as I don't follow the horses closely any more, they must have either been mentioned on this thread, or someone worded me.

I had filed them both under "forget, until the Cheltenham Fessie".

One was called "Bold So Brian", & it was 109/1 at the time for the Gold Cup. It is no longer quoted, so I assume that can be filed under "loser".

I got on the other one at 19/1, on Betfair, to win the Supreme Novices Hurdle, it was called "My Tent or Yours".

Hi Tikay,
19/1 my tent or yours is well handy for supreme novices, made them look like trees today.
Mccoy said it wont get suplemented for the champion, and most prob wont, think it is very big price for it, .......

Sadly they ran Brian in the wrong race I thought the other week and he fell badly, so back to drawing board, but was nice to see a plan come together so nicely with the other one. Its now got a 49ers feel about it, press/green out etc!

Ha!

Were you the culprit who put me on MTOY?

I seem to recall seeing it on TfT, & thinking "I'll take the price on Betfair before it goes, then stick it on Fred if & when the guy recommends it".

That was my last memory of it.

Anyway, happy days.

Fred appears to have Jedzki for the same race, down to Methuselah-Minor, @ 8/1.

One way or another, I have the race nicely covered - so far.

Jezki was very impressive in today's grade1 novice's hurdle at Leopardstown today.

Still a standout 8/1 with badcrooks for the Supreme at Cheltenham in March.

I recommend fred has £20 on the schnozzle @ 8/1.

I have been building a book around My Tent Or Yours for this race, but must confess was mighty impressed by Jezki today and have started a hedge fund on him too!

Boom!

This may have been the catalyst for the MTOY & Jedzki bets.

Seem to recall some long winded rant about BSB and also MTOY based on not worrying that he had lost at Newbury behind a stable mate, cos JP Mac doesnt worry about 1s next to horses name, just the end objective.

Hard not be impressed with SC, but I dunno, it just doesn't feel like a Gold Cup winner to me. Can see something (prob Bobs Worth) outstaying it up the hill.

Yes, I think the horse is excellent value at 5/1.

I've got negs for various reasons about 3 of the main dangers, and think conditions and race is perfect for mine.

Betting in shitty all weather races always carries a bit of risk, but all things being equal, this is really good bet imo.
