We're betting on horses running on the all-weather?

I never want to hear a complaint from you about novelty bets ever again.

There was a QC on Newsnight last night who compared Ratzinger to Pinochet and said he could be prosecuted now that he is no longer a Head of State.

FA Cup replay tonight Leicester v Huddersfield, 7.30pm ESPN

Put simply, Leicester aren't up for this and not particularly bothered

- Pearson made 5 changes for the first game and wasn't particularly happy we drew

- Two significant injuries since Wood and Marshall. Wood especially, we are a less effective team without him

- There is a cold/flu bug that will see a few others missing

- Priority is promotion, clearly

Quotes in today's local from the manager

"We have a few players who have been suffering with colds and 'flu and such like. That has been a bit irritating for us trying to manage the squad through the weeks building up to games, but the players have just got on with it.

"I will make some changes, but I will make changes that will give us opportunities to win the game.

"We don't have a big squad in terms of having lots of fringe players.

"We have a tight squad of good players and I will be looking to freshen it up where I need to.

"There will be opportunities for players, and it is up to those individuals to go out and really stamp their authority on the game," he said.

"I will fully expect that to happen. It will be a different side and a different complexion to the team"

These types of fringe players: Wellens, Gallagher etc haven't played much all year and have looked off the pace when seen off the bench etc

Huddersfield have picked up some form under their caretaker manager, and are terrific value at 8-1

Stake small because it could easily be extra-time etc, which Leicester would want even less than this replay

Recommend £10 William Hills Huddersfield

I will be backing Huddersfield myself bet365

Just to clarify, we have 4 different horses, in 2 races, at Southwell this afternoon.

13.40:

Ridgeway Hawk £5 Win @ 18.05

Upper Lambourn £5 Win @ 12.67

15.15:

Gouray Girl £5 EW @ 25/1

Nazreef, £10 EW @ 4/1

Somewhat bizarre. No horses for ages then 2x2 at Southwell!

Fwiw Nazreef unbeaten on the surface(a few years since he ran on it tho), but was priced up on the SL tissue at 14-1. Gouray girl moved to a stable where the money normally a massive factor, and none so far.
Just to muddy waters further and old friend/enemy Docothebay, also has a rather intersting profile of 1 win and 1 second on the surface and very well in on even his modest form.

I backed Camels last night in a sleepy blur at 3am. I had waited for some market movement for all of horseys three, but the only one that has been backed hasnt shown any decent form since his days at Osbournes.

First race, I shall leave, and second may end up having some tiny banzai FC and TC, more in blind hope than any confidence, whilst cheering on Camel sel. GL

Sporting Life tissue? This is utterly useless. Lads opened 13/2 last night Nazreef but it didn't last long.

if you say so. I'm just an ice-cream dinosaur/very infrequent betfair visitor. Often need to be reminded to look there!

Just shy of 9/1, but for technical reasons, I cannot generally access Betfair from the office.

http://www.oddschecker.com/basketball/nba/nba-championship/regular-season-mvp

Suggesting a max bet on Lebron James to be regular season MVP 7/4 with Bwin

Guy is absolutely killing it and it looks pretty clear just from looking at the odds that Bwin have made a mistake in the odds.

MVP looks like its basically between Lebron and Kevin Durant, the edge we have is that Miami are almost dead certs to win their conference whereas OKC aren't. This will mean that LBJ is alot more likely to be awarded the MVP award.

Lebron is averaging 27points 7assists and 8 rebounds per game and is basically carrying Miami single handedly.

Durant is averaging 29points 4.5assists and 7.5 rebounds per game but has a quality player like Westbrook playing amazing aswell so he isn't carrying his team as much as Lebron is.

Suggest maximum Lebron James Regular Season MVP 7/4 Bwin

Thanks Tom.

I take that as a Tom Max, not a Fred Max, & we have gone for £40. BWin seem to have the Durant & LeBron prices back to front.

When does the season finish, & when will the MVP be selected?

£40 @ 7/4, BWin, James LeBron, MVP.

Wed 17th April is the last regular season game and MVP is announced usually second round of the playoffs, so probably end of April

The Politics bet seems to have moved against us

LD 4/5, Con 11/8 (we have 6/4)

http://www.oddschecker.com/politics-and-election/eastleigh/winning-party

Why?

Not sure, but the market is telling us the LibDems will win

The UKIPT rather amusingly put a candidate up who formed a road safety group called "Speedwatch"

I suspect the market is telling us that the UKIPT will take more votes off the Tories than the LibDems will lose to Labour.
