My first tip for Fred, and it's in rugby league.
Wigan are at home to Catalan Dragons tonight at 8pm, and Catalan were available at 4.61 on betfair and 4.25 on youwin. This is simply too much value.
Wigan managed to beat Castleford last week by a very slender margin (Castleford hit the post with a drop-goal attempt in the dying minutes, and then Wigan went up the other end to score). They could have easily lost.
Wigan and Catalan are level on points in the league - with both of them having won 3 drawn 1 and lost 1.
Catalan have a strong and aggressive pack, and they try and dominate teams with their forwards. Wigan on the other hand have a shed-load of injuries and absentees from their forwards including Mossop, Hansen, Lauaki, Prescott all out long-term, Hock out on a season-long loan, and for this week the captain O'Loughlin and another forward Tuson are both doubts for the match as is Crosby who suffered concussion in the match against Castleford (O'Loughlin will be assessed today). In the match against Castleford Ben Flower was the oldest of Wigan's prop-forwards at 25 years - so it's a very young pack that Wigan are having to rely on. Spencer, who is on loan at Leigh has been recalled and will step-in to replace Crosby if he isn't declared fit to play.
Darrell Goulding is also missing from the squad, and his influence as the centre on the right shouldn't be understated. Offensively, his contribution is massive and defensively he adds a lot of steel. Last week, all of Castleford's tries came via attacks down Wigan's right, where the absence of Goulding was very apparent.
Wigan 19 Man Squad v Catalan Dragons
(in alphabetical order)
Greg Burke, Josh Charnley, Dom Crosby, Gil Dudson, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Blake Green, Jack Hughes, Michael McIlorum, Sean O'Loughlin, Sam Powell, Pat Richards, Matty Smith, Rhodri Lloyd, Scott Taylor, Iain Thornley, Logan Tomkins, Sam Tomkins, Chris Tuson
I'd suggest that the odds on Catalan Dragons are far too generous, and Wigan shouldn't be such strong favourites with the state of the squad. Even @ 3/1 I'd see a value in a bet on Catalan to win.
Another one who has been a blonde for ever (too long some might say) & not had a Fred bet.
Newbie Status granted, we will get on.
Well-constructed Recommend, too, but you omitted the suggested Stake, so we'll go for a tenner.
It helps if you stick an Oddschecker Link up with the prices too, if you get time. If I get the prices wrong, I get shouted at.
I have a funny feeling that hector might recommend this too, but we will cross that bridge as & when.
4.61 on Betfair? You sure? Best I can see is 3.71, but the Market on Betty is arid. I honestly dion't think 4.61, as suggested, was really available for more than a moment, it is just too high.
So.......we have taken 3/1 with Corals.
We have £10 @ 3/1, Catalan Dragons to beat Wigan.
ON
SingleID:O/1597594/0000054Catalans3/1Wigan v Catalans - 08/03/2013Stake £10.00
Estimated Return:£40. Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Return: £40.0
Whoops.

Appears as if the Hector Huddersfield tip is romping home. Ty for that!
No chance for a drop goal though by the looks of it. In what situations does a drop goal get attempted? I can imagine when the score is a draw and its the last minute, but any other spot?
To get more than a converted try ahead as well.
stroke of half time, last play of the half
to win at the end
to break a tie at any point
6 up, to go 7 up
etc

Incred, 26-2 at present!
Lovely stuff.
I also had a bit myself with a 12 point start, as mentioned by Joe. Think that one is safe.
Best not mention CESM. Never mind, we have come out nicely ahead on the evening.
Coffee and cake time.

They cut four horses "ready" for their offer and that was one of them Adz. It's now 25/1. 8/1 a place on Betfair (1st three) in a thin market. 30-36 on the win market.
I would prefer the ones in the 10/1 region but it probably isn't a terrible bet.
Its a real toughy for me Neil. Been backing MTOY all winter at 20s down. Then your best mates old man unleashes his secret weapon. Cant see him quite winning but pretty confident he wont let us down.

Should get a bonus wicket for catching McCullum. That was a lot harder than it looked.

In my defence, it did look like value. But all the uncertains played, crucially including O'Loughlin. Wigan sounded pretty impressive.

Granted, even those who cared in the first place have stopped now, but...
All eleven starting players, all three used subs and the manager (John Gregory) were English.

Tikay I misclick failed to place the bet on Huddersfield. I'm 2-0 for these misclicks now. Can you produce a misclick training video for me? Is it because I fail to misclick spectacularly?

I remember Kybo but I would never have guessed it was an acronym and certainly not for that, how they must have chuckled at whooooshing everyone.
I remember Three Troikas too vaiguely, it was around the time of those great French mares Allez France and Dahlia IIRC, I had a nice touch on Dahlia once, possibly at Sandown Park or was it kempton.
How much did you win for your early ten-to-follow victories? I bet noone else did that double.
Jeez Ralph, Allez France & Dahlia, there are some great stories there.
Think I better put them on my Diary, before I further derail Fred, once I start I can't stop with those old racing tales.
I would imagine the touch you had on Dahlia was at Ascot, but it could have been Sandown I suppose. I doubt it was Kempton.
You're right Tony it was Ascot, the king George 1973 I've just watched the replay.
I had a basement flat in Pimlico at the time and I used to bet in a bookies right next door to The Chelsea Drugstore which was in fact a landmark pub in the early 1970's about half-way up the King's Road on the left. I was qhite friendly with the manager and I had deposited £200 with him behind the jump so that I could phone in bets while watching the racing on my telly.
I had done in over half of it by the time Dahlia's race came along and in a classic case of chasing had the remaining £80 on her. I've searched high and low but I can't find the SP's for the race anywhere but I think it was around 8/1 at least, possibly as big as 12/1, it was a very decent touch for me at the time I know that and she absolutely slooshed in, I got goose-bumps watching it again.
