The darts by lost, the game never really came alive until it was too late.

Was 6. Pretty poor game, nearly got lucky, Barny deflected last dart into single 1 when first two were in
Hit the post, one shy.

Would have been a lucky escape given how relatively poorly both players first darts were, although on flip side Barny threw a 171 which is obv harder than a max to leave 170

Yikes.
Great day, bad 20 minutes with the Darts, Bingham and now Trott. The Trott dismissal was a lost chance to cement the advantage, but we are still well placed.

I someone can explain this to me, I'll let Fred know when the next team chess competition is and we can work out a price.
Otherwise, my head will explode. Apparently, there is an edge in betting on team chess events (the one starting tomorrow is an individual event).

half-rhetorical question (as I don't fancy it that much) (for Doobs, think he's the main proponent of the bet)
thread has £10 Long Run at 13-2
thread has £10 e/w Long Run at 10-1
to win £200ish
It's 5-1 on Betfair
Should we be putting up a £30 lay and taking the freeroll/green position?

Think it will be pretty cool if TfT can build up a portfolio of dogs for the Greyhound Derby. It's not too far off and I'd like to throw up an early suggestion.
We should make Jaytee Hellcat our first addition. Mostly because it is currently overpriced, available at 100/1 almost everywhere. Trialled around Wimbledon this week and clocked a very nippy 28:36, the same time the ante-post favourite Ballymac Eske recorded. Eske is 14/1 for comparisons. It also ran 28:38 in an open race at the tailend of last year so can do it in race situations too.
Hellcat lines up in the RP Juvenile next week, a meeting of 6 classy dogs and the other runners, Eske included, trialled around Wimbledon too. Alien Planet clocked a length slower than Hellcat and is 25/1 and Farloe Warhawk ran 28:62 (14s for Derby). Teejays Bluehawk ran the slowest of the Juvenile participants in a time of 28:77 and is generally 33/1 for the Derby.
Basically, Jaytee Hellcat should be significantly shorter and despite it not having the make-up of my usual selections (pinger) I think it is a must bet at the prices.
I recommend £10 Jaytee Hellcat to win the 2013 Greyhound Derby @ 100/1
I'd also like to suggest one other at this stage, and it is another 100/1 option and a little more speculative. Love an early paced type and Aldworth Samson looks to have spectacular, and consistent, early based on his Newcastle form. Has been clocking reasonable enough times there at the beginning of this year but it is the sectionals that have been interesting me as it takes lengths out of the others at the start. Started favourite over, and defeated, the impressive Mags Gamble recently and hopefully the early pace translates to Wimbledon. Also, it is a fair bit shorter on Betfair with 65 the current price available to back.

Looking forward to the Candidates thing, & the Reports, which starts today.
We have £100 @ approx 1.66 on Carlsen. Ladbrokes currently quote 1/2, & Betfair 1.59.
I assume it is this thing, yes?

It is.
The first time in 41 years it has been an all-play-all tournament, rather than a knockout. Carlsen refused to play in that last cycle for that specific reason. I think the first round starts at 2, which would mean the results will be coming in toward the end of the racing.

I think this was proposed a while back Rich, but we were too busy thissing & thatting to make a decision.
I'd like Doobs view on it, as he proposed the bets on Long Run, & although he is very sweet on Long Run, I think he's alao very pragmatic about these things.
We do have a pretty big exposure on the Gold Cup, which is making me a little antsy-pantsy.
I'll do a Gold Cup Summary shortly, to help us make a decision.

Agree 100% Scotty, especially after I fiffed & faffed & initially missed your Greyhound Derby selections last year. This year we have pinged the traps.
Both those bets are now on.
Incidentally, the EW prices at present are Quarter Odds, Top 6, although these two bets are WIN ONLY.
We have....

India v Australia Test Match
We have £50 @ 2.34 on India.
Day One was lost to the weather, Day Two play is proceeding, Australia are 145/2.
Betfair now go 6.2 India, 13 Australia, & 1.3 the Draw.
Think our bet may be in distress......
