Morning Tony,

A couple of things you might like.

China Open snooker starts 2morrow and I like a bet in the Dott v Fu game. Fu was in nice form last week in the Championship league and racked up a good few centuries going deep in the event. Dott played in the TPC event the week before and was in poor form in a defeat to Xaio Goudong and what might be a factor, he also looked like he didn't want to be there. Fu has also been in decent nick the last month or so.

I'm not actually sure who is fav in the game tbh but the recent positives are with Fu so I have bet him at 11/10 to beat Dott.

I know you are busy at your poker tourney this week so might not get on so you can have £50 of mine if you want the bet and we will sort it out later.

The other thing is big price but I think there might be a bit of an angle. In the Grand National I thought Tofino Bay had a nice chance but looked to be heading to Fairyhouse for the Irish National instead and was as big as 60 odd on BF for the National when as short as 25/1 with some of the books.

Since then tho the trainer has said he wants to run in the National which has seen it's price shorten to 34 on BF in what is a pure ante post book, it has also drifted in the Irish national book on there, tho it is a soft market. Those lovely bookmakers tho haven't bothered to shorten it much  (coz its bigger on BF innit) even tho non runner no bet makes it a totally different bet, so we can back it at 33/1 with the firms that are non runner no bet.

If it goes to Ireland then we get our cash back, if it runs in the National it could be low 20 odd to 1 come race day. It runs from the front and ran well over 4 miles at Chelters, reminds me a little of Mr Frisk.

I seem to remember you saying you haven't had a bet in the National for years as you don't like it but we iz degen now so might be worth a small bet. If you wanted to bet ew tho then there will be plenty of books laying 5 places come the race where there aren't now and you have to bet it with a firm that is non runner no bet. Obv 40 runner hcaps are not much of an each way angle, so I will leave the staking up to you if you do bet.

cheers

Just found this one for Tofino Bay in the Grand National.

It is still generally 33/1, but I need to find who are NRNB.

A measure of how unusual the Test result was

- Only the third time in Test History that a team with 4 wickets down in the final innings going into the last day has saved the game

- Broad's 6 in 137 minutes was the lowest ever score for a Test Innings of over two hours duration

I am not quite sure how we bricked Pujara, Anderson but especially Trott in those last few sessions in each game, but we managed it!

Thanks Phil.

We have £10 EW @ 33/1, NRNB, with Bet Victor, Tofino Bay, Grand National.

Note we already have £10 @ 20/1 on Seabass for the Grand National (currently 12/1 tops) though that won't win as it came from Chompy.

Proper run bad that.

Is the Pujara bet dead, too? If so, I have not accounted for that one yet.

Yes, India won the series 4-0 at the weekend

We now move onto the Ashes. After two NZ tests at home England have Ten Ashes Tests on the Trot(t) with the Champions Trophy in the summer too

Botham expects us to win the ten tests 12-0.

OK, I will write off the Pujara bet in tomorrow's numbers.

So we bombed 8 bets from 8 over the weekend & Monday, an unenviable record, but a record all the same.

Can we extend that run?......

We have nothing at all lined up for today, & hopefully Dubai will be too pre-occupied with Baby Shallow to start putting up any heart-stopping £10,000 @ 1/100 shots, or those dreadful FGS things, on tonights World Cup Qualifying games. Shocking value them.

All £25 e/w at bet 365 if we can.

Mario Balotelli FGS 9/4, Stephan El Shaaraway 3/1.  Malta vs Italy

Thomas Muller FGS 3/1, Mario Gomez 9/4 Germany vs Kazakhstan

Got to go childcare duties

Ladbrokes offer the German match at worse odds, but probably still value.  This is the match most likely to be a goalfest, so could probably add a couple more Germans.

Thanks Doobs.

Glory be, in before Dubai gave me a heart attack with a Dubai Banzai.

We got badly Restricted on all 4 bets, but took what was offered. I'll look elsewhere shortly to see if we can find acceptable prices for the balance. I also lost a bit of price on Gomez (got 2/1, not 9/4) but gained a bit )12/5 not 9/4) on Balotelli.

We have.....

£6 EW @ 3/1, Bet365, Pablo Osvaldo, Malta v Italy.

£8 EW @ 12/5, Bet365, Mario Balotelli, Malta v Italy.

£10 EW @ 2/1, Bet365, Mario Gomez, Germany v Kazakhstan

£6 EW @ 3/1, Bet365, Thomas Muller, Germany v Kazakhstan.

“There is no room for sentiment in what is a results business and when we come to naming the starting XV against Australia the captain won’t be the first guy on the team sheet,” said Gatland. “You can’t get too hung up on these things. Ideally, you would want your tour captain to be there but he’s got to warrant his place and be able to do the job. We’ll have to make a call at the time and if others are playing better, they will be in.”

That statement appears to me a better case for backing O'Driscoll , Ryan Jones, or Heaslip.

Interesting you say that as I thought exactly the opposite. Agree it definitely counts in BODs favour, but Robshaw's only real black mark is he isn't an automatic choice in his position. Take that away and he has to be a joint favourite.

The betting market, or at least the one I am on is, "who will be captain in the first Test" rather than the point being made above, who might be the best captain for team unity etc
