good fade on the bet i suggested, both teams drew with 2 goals each. The odds on both games to have the same amount of goals were 9/2 fwiw.

As a side note i feel like PSG are unfortunate to be going out.  I don't feel like barca are as strong as they have been in the past.  I personally wouldn't have them as favourites at this stage with 3 great teams left, and Madrid having beaten them the last 2 times they've faced off and the german teams being very strong too.

We got lucky. Sort of. Liked the suggestion, quite a novel bet, but whether it was value I have to leave to the others.

Magic mate, nice to have a second opinion. Prob in that order then Tony

Henley main bet
Coetzee/ Lynn smaller

If you wanted a smaller bet Peterson could be ok, tho I have admit he is the kinda unknown element.

Have to bet em each way with laddies for the extra place. Will leave the stakes up to you Tony.

Cheers

What about Huh, huh?

Something in his stats put me off. Driving distance not long enough and putting not great. Don't think his form overall is that good either.

David Villa, did you say?

Bleurgh.....

We get paid for assists, right?

I think Boylesports give refunds on assists, maybe helpful for future reference.

And now, on TV, Lord Sir King Tom Watson.

Was there ever a better Golf Ambassador, or man with such a blend of ability, dignity, & humility?

I think Sheff Utd are a million to take on the Coyles, mcleish type. Warnock and the chairman fell out once before tho it does look a great spot for both sides at least until the end of the season. More likely we look at the cheaper options short term, maybe Chris Morgan to tide us over to the end of the season.not a great spot tho really given what's at stake in the promotion race.

I wouldn't take a short price about anyone tho given the chairman thought it perfect natural to hire an ex Sheff Weds captain last time.

Anyone know what Jack Charlton is doing these days?

Succession of long phonecalls interspersed with a Twitter debate with Nick Goff (senior football man at Corals) who has just written an interesting blog (his words) "attempting to dispel the myths about trading at one of the big firms". All good stuff and a fun debate. Interrupted by phone dying. Come back and the thread is four pages longer.

I didn't look at that market Phil, partly because I don't really follow golf enough to have heard of most of the players and partly because I didn't notice the Magic Sign were 1,2,3,4 (schoolboy error). I agree with the tee time angle and the fact that the Dane is injured and Colsearts is a bad favourite.

Betfair fixed odds are 1/5th 1,2,3,4 too although they maintain their policy of trying really hard not to be best price anyone.

As an aside there seems to be a lot of money up against KJ in top Korean at 1/2 (literally a match). He is 100/1 outright and the other geezer 500/1. Can I conclude he is injured?

John Pemberton is a decent bet. Lots of good kids coming through at Sheff U, such as Maguire and the keeper George I forget his surname, and Pemberton has not only done a good job with the 19s (lost to Man U in the Youth cup final in 2010 iirc)  before going to Forest but also knows plenty of the players at the linked clubs in Hungary, China etc

His son is currently captain of the United academy side, and he lives in Sheffield

Furthermore, he's going to be popular with supporters, unlikely to rock the boat with the chairman.

The chairman point is important as I know there's not a lot of cash to transform the squad..eg they were unable to meet the loan wage requirements for Paul Gallagher when they had him on loan for a while, he wanted to stay, Wilson wanted him to stay but Chairman wouldn't stump up. Logically, building from within via getting the kids coming through is crucial

Would be far more likely to get the job at the end of the season if United don't go up, than if they do go up

I haven't heard anything about Choi Neil tho Yang is pretty gritty, a major winner and has a couple of nice results here.

I'm away from my usual stuff for the evening tho so haven't had access to any new injury info.

I actually typed  Morgan/pembo earlier Rich. I wasn't sure if he was still at forest and too tired to check. Was a shame he didn't get it last time.

Pemberton is a juicy 16/1, which tempts, though I assume we would be severely restricted to small money. The caveat is that the Market is next PERMANENT Manager, and that is a different thing altogether. Getting the Caretaker role is one bet, getting the Permanent job another.
