Evening Mr T.

Tonight's Co op action features Doncaster v Featherstone. With better weather here and the leagues top scorers on show the points quote looks a score too light. In their last league match Doncaster conceded 34 points in the first half. I can't see Featherstone being happy unless they score 50 points on their own.

Suggest £24 over 49.5 points with Boylesport @ 5/6

Evening Hector, hope you have had a great day. I've had a belter, really.

We are on as suggested. Jeez, I love The Co-Op Championship, such a cool name.

We have £24 @ 5/6, Boylesports, OVER 49.5 points, Featherstone v Donny.

ON

Bet ref: 83/81
Over 49.5 @ 5/6
Doncaster vs. Featherstone Rovers
Total Points
Total stake    £24.00
Estimated return    £44.00

I will be having a ton of bets on the Masters but I think the most interesting one is a bet on the first round leader.  It looks as thought there is a significant chance of bad weather later in the afternoon.  It is due to reach about 1-2pm so ideally we want a player that is finished by then which means a teetime of 10am or earlier.  There may well be a 100/1 shot that is good value here each way but I am going to stick to a simpler approach and just look at the front of the market.

This is a list of players under 50/1 (I used 365 prices) to lead after the first round with a teetime before 10am:

Westwood
Rose
Snedeker
Schwartzel
Gmac

So five players out of 13.  I think we need to eliminate Snedeker simply because we already bet him to win the tournament and it doesn't look great with his injury at the moment.  Increasing our exposure on him seems silly to me.  If he goes well we will just be happy.  I dont really like McDowell either just because he has missed the cut here twice.  Of the other three I can't really split them.  They all average below 70 for their first rounds over their last 50 events.  westwood and Rose have both led the event after the first round in the last five years and Schwartzel is a past winner so they all look solid to me and would suggest we bet them all each way.  Best prices are 20/1 Rose with Ladbrokes. 33/1 Westwood with Ladbrokes and 33/1 Schwartzel with Betvictor.  Suggest 15 e/w on each of them.

Good post.

Any chance you could mention the 100/1 shot though, unless you are waiting to get on yourself first.

Oh no I just meant I haven't had time to go through all of those at a big price but one I do like and wouldn't put you off is David Lynn but I only really noticed him because I have backed him to win the tournament and top Brit.  200/1 seems fair to me especially each way and he wont have too much pressure as he is out really early.

Yeah getting a bit excited but more nervous as I could only get on win only.......

I followed you in.  Here's hoping it starts to blow a gale.

Jamie Donaldson just had a hole in one, on the 6th.

Pretty sure someone suggested the bet.

Pretty sure we missed it.......

Quick cricket update today

Have been in Southampton watching Hampshire/Leicestershire for my summer gig

Hampshire 454/7 dec
Leicestershire 108-6

I know Leicestershire are one of the weaker sides (resources, mainly), but this is a very promising start for Gherkin's bet

In other games Middlesex have a slight advantage over Notts at the end of Day 2

Ditto Northants over Glamorgan

There's four-five months to go on these, but a summer of following these teams awaits....

Wish I was there too......

Have been listening all day........glorious background work music  Smiley

80,000 listeners yesterday for the BBC's live commentaries from each match.

Much loved, and much underappreciated is County Cricket

Was in the car all day, Lancs v Gloucs was on Three Counties Radio or some other Local Station. Just one commentator, but very entertaining. Hope they do more, I can listen at work, too.  The Production costs relative to that audience size must be very low.

Thought I was in a time warp, a bloke called Chappell (sp?) was playing.

Lancs v Worcs

Glen Chapple, nearly 40 now, County Stalwart for Lancs for over 20 seasons. Seam bowler, and very good at it too

I really struggle to understand golf in running markets sometimes.  Justin Rose looks to be shooting -2 and is currently tied 5th.....Similarly Westwood and Snedeker yet they are all available on Betfair at the same price effectively as they were pre tournament.  Obviously Leishman and Lynn etc come into the equation and Tiger has shortened a bit but surely they all must be decent value now.  Snedeker in particular had a slight doubt about his fitness built into his pre tournament price but now he has somewhat proven he isn't actually playing badly hurt.

I do some part time work for the Press Association. Inputting scores that then get fed out on newswires and sites etc

More of a hobby than work really, doesn't pay much...getting to watch cricket though

Because I can't commit to a whole season I do the odd match when required.

Sounds like a pretty ideal set up, I'm envious

I've been trying to figure that, too.

Guess it is a little early to take a firm view, but the equity in, say, Snedeker must have improved, 2 under suggests his injury woe - in the original price - is no longer relevant.
