Daily Summary, @ 0845, Tuesday April 23rd
We lost £43.79 in the last 48 hour period.
We took a £10 loss on a Greyhound Derby bet, £3 loss on a World Snooker Banzai, & a £70.78 reverse on NBA.
On the plus side, on Sunday, Hector found us a 2/1 winner (+£40) for his FOURTH straight winner, 3 of which were at the weekend.
Saturday & Sunday were as quiet as they have ever been on Fred, perhaps reflecting a quiet sporting weekend, but it livened up again yesterday.
Hopefully, when Tighty recovers from his Monte Carlo exertions, he will give us a County Cricket Update, I get the impression we are doing rather well with those. I've not seen an IPL Update for several days, either.
Tonight, Blackburn are away to Millwall. Permission is granted to love Millwall tonight. Just this once.

County Cricket Portfolio
Middlesex, £50 EW @ 7/1. Now 4/1 best.
Durham, £20 @ 13/2, to finish bottom.
Chris Rogers, Top Scoring Captain, £40 @ 7/2
Simon Katich, Top Div 2 Batter, £10 @ 20/1. (Only innings to date he scored 84).
Hampshire to win Div 2, £40 @ 4/1. Now generally 3/1.
Northants to win Div 2, £10 EW @ 20/1. Currently 12/1.
We have not done any EsoKral type bets on the County Cricket yet.

We have not done any EsoKral type bets on the County Cricket yet.
1. Middlesex have won 2 out of 2.
Its early days in a 16 game championship but they are top
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/county-championship-division-one/table
They probably have two weaknesses
a) Not quite enough batting and
b) Not quite enough spin
but for now, the strength of the seam attack is very strong, and that is going to keep them competitive
Warwickshire remain favourites to most people which is fair enough, but I am very happy with the bet
2 Durham beat Somerset in the first game and then lost to Warwickshire. A Mixed start. Gernally conditions in Durham this stage of the season are fruity and in Graham Onions and Rushworth they have two excellent swing bowlers The challenge for Durham will be when pitches flatten out.
3 Chris Rogers is the mainstay of the Middlesex batting and I like the bet. One caveat is he is Australian, the Australian tour party is about to be announced and Shane Watson the opener is falling out with most of Australia. If I were picking that squad, Rogers with a superb technique and plenty of experience over here might be my Ashes opener. In which case the bet would be sunk. Lets hope not, the Aussie touring party is annoucned tonight.
4 Katich is a very good bet. Hampshire are probably the best team in the second division, he's an experienced class player against poorer attacks and he's burnt his bridges with the Aussie selectors.
5 Hampshire drew their first match
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/county-championship-division-two/table
Bet looks fine, certainly a top team in the division
6 Northants were thwarted by the weather when in the midst of beating Glamorgan, then beat Essex by an innings
I doubled my each-way bet yesterday at 12-1. Much much much improved team this year as my sources were indicating to me with a seam attack that is a real handful, notably Steven Crook who has stepped down a division from Middlesex and is a good swing bowler
If we look at the second division we have Have Hants and Lancs who are well funded teams that will be up there. Beyond that its a poor division and its wide open. Getting 3-1 Northants to finish 3rd is excelent value as all the other teams have weaknesses. So do Northants, but they are still priced to finish 7 of 9
http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/county-championship-div-2/county-championship-division-two/winner
This is wrong, pure and simple , to my eyes. Northants are no worse and probably slightly better than teams priced to finish above them
There, that serves you right for asking.

In the ICL, Mumbai were 3 out of 4 then lost two games heavily to go back into the pack
The Puny Warriors have lost 5 out of 7 and are generally underperforming
Owais Shah was last seen playing cricket some months ago, but is having a lovely time touring the sub-continent
the current table is at
http://www.iplt20.com/stats
The surprise team so far is the Hyderabad sunrisers, one of the smaller franchises
Its something I wrote about last year though, the ICL works to a different beat than you or I might expect
Indian players are emphasised over marginal overseas pros. In addition, Four teams qualify for the semis and it is important for the organisers, who make Sepp Blatter look like Mother Teresa in his relative parsimony and charitable intent, that the bigger franchises make the later stages for advertising revenue etc
The bigger franchises are in the bigger cities
KolKata
Mumbai
Chennai
Bangalore
Delhi
I would be absolutely stunned if 3 of these 5 didn't make the final 4 (by hook or by....). Delhi are nowhere so in practice things look ok for Mumbai at this stage with still half the round robin games to come...
The best teams? Probably Chennai (Dhoni..) and Bangalore (best batting team, Chris Gayle, De Villiers etc)

Superb Cricket summary Rich, thank you.
I'm now sorely tempted to press a little on Northants, who are still generally available at 10/1. It is one of those spots where we do it now, or not at all. In a week or two, they'll be 20/1 no-hopers, or live 5/1 shots.

I am the kiss of death to all your cricket bets(think I picked out Trescothick as most likely winner), but best I could get on Northants was 11/1 fifth odds first 3. I assume you thought that would still be good.

Superb Cricket summary Rich, thank you.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/county-championship-div-2/county-championship-division-two/winner
I pressed at 12-1. Each way though
Your call. One more win and we won't see 12-1 again.
If I genuinely thought one of Kent, Glamorgan, Essex, Worcs was a consistent team I would leave the single bet at 20-1, but I don't
I see northants next week I think (strangely enough there aren't too many volnteers to work Wantage Road, one of the more prosaic of county venues with poor media facilities) so will know more then, but the bet won't wait that long.

If we press, our place odds will be 2/1, as I can get 10/1 everywhere.
We so far have £10 EW @ 20/1.
I'll decide today whether to have a little more. I'm quite keen to, actually, though of course I know bugger all about
anything
cricket.

Snooker update
We have Trump and Selby. Most have Ronnie, but thread got in a palaver...
In Ronnie's Quarter, Higgins was beaten....
So his path to the semis is Ali Carter then Bingham/Mark Davis
So a dream start for Ronnie. He looked good, and his draw has opened up
In the other quarter in his half Trump starts today, and Shaun Murphy won his game in that quarter
In the other half Mark Williams and Mark Allen both lost. Maguire is also in trouble
The threat to Selby here is Robertson and Ding Junhui
http://www.oddschecker.com/snooker/world-championship/world-snooker-championship/winner
At 100-30 Ronnie is not really a betting proposition, but well done bobby1 for the steer
Selby and Robertson at 6-1 are in a touch reflecting Allen's departure
Trump out a touch reflecting Ronnie in his half...

Excellent.
Note we do have a sort of small interest in Ronnie, in that our Selby Bet is refunded if Ronnie wins.

No, not as yet.
They always seem to be ool with other Sites, offering Best Prices a great deal, & for some reason, this makes me wary of them.
No real logic to that thought process though.
I really don't know anything about them at all.

Fred now has a YouWin Account, but I'd rather like some feedback about them before Depositing.
