If we fancy a spot of Saturday trading I can't believe Declaration Of War won't drift from 3.35 in the Lockinge (3.50 Newbury) tomorrow.
He's never run at higher than Group 3 level and he's never run on fast turf. Also he stays further and these are proven milers he's taking on. The potential is there but is's another case of wrong price because he's trained by A. O'Brien.
There's the possibility of a chunky drift and not much down side imo. Lay £200 @ 3.35 with a view to greening out tomorrow.
I hope Chompy wasn't putting the ESC portfolio together the same time as he suggested this!

Declaration of War was well beaten, but Doobs was on the winner, Farhh. Incredible stuff.

Easy to forget this chased Frankel home and how well Excelebration ran elsewhere. Will take some beating this season.

All go here - McDowell disposes of 3G 2 & 1 and moves into the semi, where he pays Branden Grace.
We are going along nicely today.
Now that Declaration of War thing is finished I can get some sleep. I was really worried I would mess that up, but only a fool could do that.

I hope Chompy wasn't putting the ESC portfolio together the same time as he suggested this! Basis of idea, that there was little substance behind DOW couldn't be faulted. In light of this I took Doobs' hint and backed Farhh. Wouldnt be the first time a trade doesn't work out while waiting for market to stop behaving irrationally

Not easy when the weight of money the other way means you are stuck with a position over max bet, no matter how much you think the market is wrong
Sometimes things just don't efficiently price.

I sometimes wonder if a pre requisite of being a member here is having your sense of humour gene removed........
I shall persevere.

May be of interest to Fred. I am drinking with the son of a member of the Wolves board. Apparently there is 9 man shortlist for the job. They will be going with a Director of football/first team coach arrangement. Director of football will be Steve Thelwell (sp?). When pressed on who he expected to be manager he said Steve McLaren. Apparently Steve Davies (Crewe) and Phil Parkinson are next best.
I asked about Jackett and he didn't seem to think he was in the running.
