i like two horses at prices in the preakness tonight (2nd leg of triple crown)

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/americas/usa-pimlico/23:20/winner

GOLDENCENTS was beaten 50 lengths by orb last time in the slop derby but anybody who has re watched that can see straight away the horse did not act on the wet slop (also got a very considerate ride from early on). Previously had won the Santa Anita grade 1 quite easily and 10-1 is big enough for a trainer who can recover horses from hideous efforts at times.

GOVERNOR CHARLIE is a horse that did not face those hideous conditions in the derby and as such might be a bit fresher than those who did. Only having 3 lifetime starts can improve (will need to) but comes from a top trainer who does not place his horses poorly as a rule. 20-1

The race has a decent enough eway feel with 9 runners. As per the derby i will post an online link before the race

suggest

£10 eway GOLDENCENTS 10/1 BET365 OR CORAL

£7 eway GOVERNOR CHARLIE 20/1 BET365 or STAN JAMES (16-1 if 365 no good tikay)

May be of interest to Fred. I am drinking with the son of a member of the Wolves board. Apparently there is 9 man shortlist for the job. They will be going with a Director of football/first team coach arrangement. Director of football will be Steve Thelwell (sp?). When pressed on who he expected to be manager he said Steve McLaren. Apparently Steve Davies (Crewe) and Phil Parkinson are next best.

I asked about Jackett and he didn't seem to think he was in the running.

Phil Parkinson, how long has he been drinking?

i have heard exactly the same from a good source last week

i am clinging to the fact despite everybody saying jackett is not on the shortlist even he has firmed up again in the betting the last few days

Came to watch the rugby, got here late. Probably 90 mins. Seemed pretty insistent on McLaren to be fair.

Seems his old man is not exactly favour of the month local. Shunned at the golf club etc. Tough life.

Lovely.

Whilst I shall be obliged to keep the TV off tonight due to E-matters, tomorrow, we have two terrific golf sweats.

Thanks horsey. Good to see you back here, you've been much missed. BAD night ahead tonight for Fred, with that E-thing, ugh.

We could not get more than a quid on either with Bet365, & the 20/1 had been cut to 14/1 with Coral, so I've amended the bet sizing.

Camacho came through that pretty comfortably.

Another bet I like for tonight is under 8.5 rounds for Alexander v Purdy at 11/10 with Lads. Alexander is many levels above Purdy. Purdy is a basic come forward puncher, Alexander will be able to outbox him and land at will. Alexander hasn't stopped anyone recently but all his opponents were fringe world class. Purdy is nowhere near that level. I see him schooling Purdy and getting a stoppage around the 6th round. Recommend £50
