Do we know if the Hills offer is online only or will the Shops be laying evens?

No idea. I am checking online at midday.

Maybe other offers out during the day as well, so eyes peeled
Just seen on twitter that they are laying 10k in shops/phone/online etc
Scores at the ready:)

Definitely worth the max bet for the account at midday, I imagine the £10k will go pretty quickly.  Pretty much guaranteed 450 overs (well 435 with slow over rates and change of innings) so a result is probable no matter how good the pitch is

Agree sir

Mr gherkin

Australia win the toss and bat.

Dry pitch, early signs of cracks. Probably deteriorates for side batting last

What do you think the correct odds Australia are?

Restricted on a £20 even money bet by 75%.

Fantastic.

Bastards not giving us enough free money?

I would say if Australia win the toss:

England 45%
Australia 30%
Draw 25%

If England win the toss:

England 60%
Australia 20%
Draw 20%

Obviously I've presumed both teams would bat first, surely a given!   The draw is definitely more likely if Australia win the toss - you would back the England team to bat out time and save the game over the Australian batting line up, and we have a much better spinner who will cause a lot more problems.

As you mentioned earlier, win the toss and bat really well (500+) and you are basically freerolling for the win on days 3, 4 and 5.  Looking at the scorecards for the last couple of county games at Trent Bridge, 500+ is not unlikely

Any Women's soccer experts? I really like the look (no pun intended) of the home team in the Euro Championships. Sweden 4/1. Germany Favs rightly so but home advantage might mean a close run thing in a relatively easy group.

Another offer:

If Alastair Cook or Michael Clarke top score in their team's 1st Innings of the first Ashes test, Ladbrokes will refund losing match bets as a free bet.

Offer is good, going to be something like 35% either top scores.  Prob best to just back England.

For info, Sky are doing some price boosts on top bats/top bowls at the minute, but none look great to me.  The best is Cook, but though it is clear top price, you can beat it on Betfair.

Lets hope he is right

Jonathan Agnew feels the combination of turning pitches and the skills of spinner Graeme Swann make England favourites to retain the Ashes.

“Australia haven’t got a decent spinner and that’s where England have a clear advantage”, says the Test Match Special commentator.

“Old Trafford will spin. Lord’s might spin - it did in the New Zealand series. The Oval will certainly spin. So that’s three of the five games where you feel Australia will be out-gunned.

“I can see Graeme Swann having a big series based on the number of left-handers Australia have in their side. When you look at the teams man-for-man, you just think that if England play well and stay fit they should come out on top.”
