One for Saturday.

Shergar Cup time, and noticed a couple of horses I am keen on backing had Gerard Mosse on. He is on the first two favs and three other horses that have decent chances.Basically 12 jockeys have 5 rides and accumulate point for their team. With mosse being on 2 Favs out of six races, he should be one of the Favs.

Strangely he is priced up as the 16-1 outsider for the jockeys title, which I think he has won before. With 365 he is a more sensible 6-1.

Recommend £20 at 16-1 with Ladbrokes

Evening Mr T.

Tonight's Co-op rugby league sees 2nd from bottom Swinton play 3rd from bottom York with the threat of relegation hovering over both teams. This should be a defence dominated game, with bad teams scared of losing rather than trying to win. The points quote of 49.5 is  too high so I suggest we go for a nitty low bet.

Suggest under 49.5 points £24 @ 5/6 with Coral, Betvictor, Ladbrokes.

BOOM!

Well done h, & thank you.

Drip, drip, drip.....

Fourth Test Tomorrow

Riverside Durham is traditionally bowler friendly

No first class side innings has been higher than 267

Ground runs alongside River Wear, is on water table and drainage is not as good as the other test grounds (only 4 Tests ever at this ground, all produced results and none lasted 300 overs)

This makes the ground seamer friendly (Graham Onions at Durham, notably)

Would expect the Test pitch to be as good as they can make it but the weather has been mixed

BOTH sides are stronger in bowling than batting.

Anderson plus two of Tremlett/Onions/Bresnan and Broad should return to form on a more balanced pitch than Old Trafford. We know the Australian left handers struggle against Swann as our back up, and we have DRS eccentricity as a final back up.

Shouldn't be a match where the toss matters so much, and it might be a bowl first pitch

Australian first innings runs priced around a pivot point of 280.5. So Australia have to score the highest score on the ground this year against the English seam attack

I'll take the unders please

Recommendation £60 Australian Innings runs Under 280.5 5/6 Paddy Power

As I noted yesterday, we got badly restricted on this.

Tried for £60, got offered £23.42.

Anyway, we are on, so at least we have a scintilla of interest.

Note that the line - which is ONLY offered by Paddy Power - has moved south, to 272.5. It was our £23 wot did it.

CONFIRMATION

We have £23.42 @ 5/6, Australia First Innings Runs - UNDER 280.5

ON

08/08/2013

Single To Win

Australia Under @ 5/6
Team B 1st Innings Runs(280.5)
England V Australia

Pending

£23.42

Absolutely wouldn't put anyone off the mighty Poshies at Notts on Saturday and 6/4 is fair enough. We'll have a big away following. If we're going to crush League One, which we are, we'll be winning this sort of game.

Surely the bet is something to do with Posh's goals if they have centre halfs out though rather than just posh to win???

Peterborough are a solid 6/4 pretty much everywhere, so I don't see much edge or value in the match result, even though I believe they will win.....

Perhaps Over/Under 2.5 is the way to go?

The full list of Markets are here, & I think Reds is right, there must be a way to get with Posh goals?

Mr Tight was slightly miffed about this - he reasons that Surrey are the weakest team left. But then he is on Northants.....

Did Tait get a hat-trick last night?

Anyway, here are the prices now - we have Essex @ 12/1.

Note that two firms offer Each Way, half odds 1, 2, which seems a little odd.

Thanks Adzy.

I can't quite get my head round this - he is booked to ride two jollies, & has three other decent mounts & is 16/1? To be fair, Ladbrokes are deffo way out of line, they make him joint outsider of two, see.....

Not sure total goals will be the way to go in Poshy matches this season. We have two outstanding full-backs, plus Bostwick in the middle, who's Champo class, and a top keeper.

It will be another season of Poshy goals and there'll be a few more than get a Colchester-style tonking.

Mosse's last three rides are likely to be double-figure prices. His first two are channers but I don't think they'll be favourite tbh.

Should the Shergar Cup bet be filed under Novelty?

Ahh, that explains the 16/1. Bugger.

Explain these things earlier in future, before I lump on, right?

Best regards,

Gerard Pique.
