Pressel update

Wie and Lang on 2 points.

Linicombe on 1.5 points.

Pressel, Kerr, Korda, Lewis & Creamer on 1 point

Salas on 0.5 point.

Struggling but a profit isn't out of the question.

No hole in one at Wyndham Sad

Bad news for the Southampton bet as they have just signed Victor Wanyama for £12m from Celtic.Easily the best player to leave Scotland since Henrik Larsson.
If he stays injury free he will goto the very top.

Why didn't a top team get him if that's the case?

Wanyama is an absolute beast and will be great signing for Southampton.

The role he plays as a holding midfield enforcer is pretty much out of fashion with the big clubs, more dynamic, technical players are used for the defensive minded midfield role.
http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/southampton/8875902/wanyama-is-worth-20-million

After one match Wanyama is quoted as a 20m Player although I agree with Merson it would be good if he could pronounce his name, it's only his job.

Brilliant, Merson was so far off the mark no-one had any idea who he was referring to. Later on he doesn't even attempt to pronounce Dejan Lovren.

I've been trying to avoid results but I'm led to believe Lauzon lost which is unbelievable to me. Totally fed an opponent that he should defeat easily. I apologise to anyone who got on tip and will comment further when I see fight.

Johnson was pretty impressive Scotty, I was surprised at how much better he looked than last time I saw him fight.

116-111 Barker

Showed great heart to get up off the deck in the 6th. He was on te brink of being stopped but saw out the round and came back to get the decision.

I didn't think he was getting up from the bodyshot never mind anything else. Then looked like he was going to go at the death as well. Great heart.

Hopefully a fight with Murray can be made.

Nicely done Bazza.

We had £18 @ 6/5 on the one that went wrong, & £40 @ 7/4 on the winner, so that'll do nicely!

Sandy

Presumably our best result on Pressel is a triple dead heat?

Really enjoyed these Solheim Cup sweats, thanks Sandy, & we've made a nice profit overall on Solheim irrespective of how Ms Pressel fares today.

The standard of women's golf is remarkably high, & I don't mean that in a patronising way at all.

Not sure I much enjoyed the Ryder Cup style high fives, whooping & hollering after every hole won, & those awful face "tattoos", it all seems a bit contrived, or the revving up of the gallery by the players, but when on their shots, the gallery seemed impeccably behaved.

I did think the girls outfits, especially the micro skirts, were bang wrong though. Bending down to pick the ball out of the hole, or, legs braced wide apart when driving, it all looked so undignified.

Has Michelle Wie always used that exaggarated putting stance?

The Wie putting style is fairly new and has apparently moved her up the ladies putting rankings by a fair bit.  I can't help thinking that it must put terrible strain on her back.

Daily Report

Profit on the Month £635.47

Outstanding Bets £3261.32

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

On one of the busiest trading days for the thread ever the result in the end was a loss of £52 with 21 seperate bets settling

First, the winners

In no particular order

* Belgian journeyman Franck Moussa, once of Southend and Leicester City, netted for Coventry very early in thier comprehensive win at Brunton Park for a profit of £67 for ChipRich

* The Catalan Dragons pulled away in the last quarter to beat Wigan 22-8 for a profit of £30 for Hector92

* Wie and Lang won a Soleheim Cup foursome for another £70 for Henrik777

* Azharullah took the most wickets for Northants in their T20 semi for +£50 for myself

* Dandino won at Arlington for +£9.99 for horseplayer

* Barker won in the boxing for +£68.80 for Bazzaboy

It was though a very tough day with a cascade of losers elsewhere

The T20 cricket was a loss, with Essex failing in the semis and all four openers in the other semi-final failing

No luck on the horses, though Soft Rain Falling finished second giving anothet three free bets for use this week

Hoillett of QPR went in the fetlock, and failed to score

Munoz and Icher lost at the Solheim Cup

Cleverly could not have been less aptly named in the Boxing

Lauzon lost in the UFC

Still, a loss of under £60 with that carnage going on for most of the day almost feels like a top result!

In football, not too many of the long term bets have started with a bang, except Watford are 2nd in the Championship after a 3-3 thriller and Reading and in League 1 Wells and Assombacongalonga are vying for the Golden Boot, each with 3 goals in 3 games. Kidderminster are top six in the Conference, Barnsley got their first point of the season...so not all doom and gloom.

In baseball, the Rays lost and the Red Sox won...

At the Wyndham, no hole in one and we have £60 riding on that with a round to come. Stroud has faded, a 73 yesterday takes him to Sunday nine shots behind

Pressel looks an unlikely Solheim Cup ponts winner unless she wins a single and the US are otherwise routed

Wayne Rooney is still at Manchester United

Prepare for red ink today, unless we get some good ideas to compensate...no pressure....
