Catriona Matthew gained the winning point and the remaining matches were conceded with the winner being whoever was in the lead. The match between
Laura Davies and Meg Mallon was level at the time and Davies won because Mallon offered to concede first
I sense a difficult conversation with Customer Care tomorrow in that eventuality!
Anyway, the deed is done now, it is what it is. Very good point by wily old Methuselah, though he is concentrating on golf today as he has taken a sabbatical from football. Quick "glad you are feeling better" to the old boy, too, as he has been a little under the weather this week. Only to be expected at his age, one supposes.

Dwight Gayle starts with Wilbraham up front for the Premier League Whipping boys (copyright, National Media), with Chamakh on the bench
Probably prescient not to have activated the Chamakh bet (copyright, AntoftheOneEye) until we see a few team selections....
Paulinho, a thread bet, starts for the Hotspurs

An interesting one. I don't understand why Chamakh isn't starting. Wilbs will be good in the air and will probably be able to hold up the ball, otherwise he is going to have an interesting time in the Prem. Please Gayle, go like a steam train.

Mr T.
Re bet sizing. I have been giving serious thought to upping the amount I suggest and I have decided that I will do so, but only for the bets that I am really confident that we have value on. Last weeks bet on Carney would have qualified for an increase but not today's as I am still unsure about the rain prospects.
As far as you betting more on my suggestions I am quite comfortable with that. You do after all RNA's in the biggest PLO8 tournaments that Vegas has to offer so can afford it. I do genuinely not want PM's thanking me as I know you are grateful and time is too short. Hidden messages and nuances in your daily posts are all it takes for me to get the drift, i.e
punished
the bookies.
What I try to avoid, by keeping things small, is the whole chasing losses syndrome where you are an amount down and see an odds on shot and think that one big bet will get you out of it. I learnt at an early age that that is no way to invest. It is also not as though we are trying to make money for anything in particular so maximising profit is not overly important. Certainly not as important as fun.
As far as tipping a losing bet, I am like Scotty. I analyse the bet and if I decide that it was a good bet and we were unlucky then a couple of hours is all it takes to get over it. If I decide the suggestion was bad then that really hurts, last year after a very bad tip I punished myself by staying off Blonde for 2 days.
In short my new max bet is £50 but it may be some time coming and if it loses then don't expect to see me on Blonde for a day or so.
This is good news, & my post was not in vain.
I only put "the same again" on for myself, nothing silly, but I know some folks put a lot more on, though one Gent of my acquaintance "filters" them, being slightly more selective as to certain types of bets.
"RNA"? What that?
I stopped sending you "thank you" PM's because you asked me to, life's too short & all that, but yes, I generaly sneak a hidden message in, thanking people is a pleasant experience. The
punish the bookies
was really a nod in the direction of a certain Lord Grumpy of course. He loves that.
There IS a balance between profit & fun (for Fred), & we throw away a bit of money here & there to keep the fun quotient up. I would stop doing it if we lost money, I've been down that road, but no, it is not JUST about profit. Gotta enjoy life. If I bet so much it makes me cross if I lose, then thats too much. Just a little bit of pain, please, I'm not quite dungeon-mode when it comes to self-inflicted pain.
I must say, you are a model sports bettor to me, you enjoy it, make a very good return, & there is usually a bit of sport & fun in your suggestions.
All good.
Apologies, I am a little verbose today. More than usual, that is.

AntoftheOneEye
Too good!
He is not alone though, many of us suffer from the same complaint. Adz is the same, thinks his Arsenal geese are swans. Well-managed swans, mind.

with the greatest respect i never thought i would see Wilbraham starting a premiership game (i said the same in the championship)
I am not a massive fan of Dawson but he is absolutely tailor made to contain what little threat he has
Famous last words but this could be a long season for Palace
Cue a 3-0 Palace win with Wilbrahaaaaaaaam scoring the lot

Rather than taking 2/9 first game of the season Chelsea I'd rather take a risk on Even money Chelsea win to Nil BetVictor
but for me, personally, game is a watching brief
More of a bet is Spurs 5/6 at Palace, if held at thread gunpoint....
Not putting it up though, lets see how Spurs are minus Bale, Holtby and Adebayor and with Paulin and Solda-dos
just had a message from Hills and Add spurs to win by to nil and its 5/1

Apparently Chamakh is a little ill and hasn't trained much this week.

La Liga kicked off last night with Athletic Bilbao starting their quest for 3rd place with an away win, Villareall play on Monday night.
The big 2 kick off tonight and until they show a propensity to concentrate on defending it's worth having an investment on both teams to score at above evens.
Suggested bets:
£20 btts=yes Real Madrid vs Betis @2.1 with PP
£20 btts=yes Barcelona vs Levante @2.25 with BetVic

Higuains brother has now score 4 goals in 2 games for Colombus Crew
A cheaper alternative perhaps?
